Villains have it easy compared to heroes, who have an enforced stand around time that stretches the respec to just over an hour (and no benefit of good AV experience bump at the end).
  2. Someday soon, I really hope they revamp all contact/quartermaster/origin stores to a universal interface more similar to the Ticket or Merit vendors. It is 1billion times easier to click through the tree on the left, list the origin I want, list the category I want, then see the enhancers available on the right. no digging through the list, right clicking to be sure its the right kind because the Tooltips are broken, etc etc.

It would be fantastic if each zone sold all enhancers up to a certain max level. Mercy? 10 and below TOs. Other zones? DOs or SOs up to the zone cap.

It would also be cool if you could simply click a flag or use a level slider and get things at +3 to whatever level you happen to be at, like the Merit/Ticket vendors. Even it the listings jump by 5, instead of giving you a precise match, it would be easier to use.

Religion, Politics and general current events wouldn't survive here, even though in general everyone here is mature enough to discuss such things. I do not have a problem with NCSoft not allowing that kind of discussion, but it's nice to have a place to go to talk about it, with the same people who come here.
Like I really want to know the opinions of you guys on outside the game matters. :P

Also, by that same arguement, not everyone will want to change sides. People who are heavily concerned with merits may well change sides without minding. But that in turn then dumps a penalty on those who, for whatever reason, don't want to change sides. Also, as far as we know, the 'Side Change' content, the missions or w/e we will need to do to change sides, is anything but fast (according to Dev comments). It's not something you flip back and forth between easily.

Now, Im not agreeing with the OP arguement. It's still not a good idea. But just saying 'Buy GR and switch sides' is NOT a good arguement for never doing more Villain exclusive SFs, and never ever will be.
Wow, what kind of forumnal gymnastics did you pull to get that I don't want more villain SFs out of what I said?

And so what if GR is paid content? So was CoV originally. Sometimes people have to pay to get additional options. That doesn't mean those options aren't an admissable argument when it comes to addressing perceived imbalance.

Not to mention that you don't have to go totally villain to do villain content, nor totally hero to do hero. Only if you want to start a team yourself. It may take a bit of work to be Rogue or Vigilante, but that doesn't mean it's going to be a terrible grind either.

Want the option shorter SFs or longer TFs for more merits? You will have it. The perceived imbalance between the two is addressed. Just as the perceived imbalance of not being able to play a villain was addressed by adding a Paid expanshalone in CoV.

Because they gave us villains the Abyss, which is cooler anyways.
  6. You get respecs like that through veteran rewards. Even better, they're respecs that appear on any character you made or will make from now until you stop playing.

Thorn Trials are a one-time thing, while you can run Posi every 18 hours(or more but with diminishing returns).
Still wrong my friend. You can run them and claim a respec only 3 times. You can run them for Merits ad infinitum.

You can run anything as many times as you want. It's just after the first time you get half merits unless 18 hours have passed.
  9. My suggestion is, next time you find an avatar, host it on a image site instead of just lifting a link from someone else's bandwidth.

So it's ok to break things as long as they're broken the way you want?

I thought you were trying to fix something? Clearly I was wrong.

No, I'm not. I clearly stated for people who don't want an imbalance, there won't be one. For people who don't care, there will be the benefit of staying true.

No one really needs any change that will cause further dissention between the sides.

I thought I wouldnt even have to mention this, but now I will since you're being pigheaded:

Yesterday I ran 2 pug villain respecs in 17minutes each. Thats 3 an hour. In the same 2ish hours your typical Positron takes, that ends up being more merits in the same amount of time than heroes get on Posi.

Your "easy fix" would lead to several months of villain side merit farming until the averages drop far enough to warrant a Merit nerf. End Result= Villain SFs would end up with worse Merit rewards than they have now, and even less reason to run them.

You're trying to fix something with a solution that would break things in the opposite direction. Stop.

There's quite a few here actually. We've been told that the PPD and the Resistance stuff will almost certainly be available to players. Not to mention a couple tidbits you can see on the DP characters in those shots.

  15. Then I think we should wait for someone who was there to confirm, instead of guessing. Because I've watched the videos and don't remember it.
  16. Does this mean we agree Sam? I'm not sure i know how to respond to that.

    Doubtful. Extremely doubtful.

The game got burned when they jumped on the PhysX bandwagon a bit too early and then didn't have a way to keep up with the upgrades that would make it compatible with current cards with native PhysX. I think they're probably going to wait to see how successful any "newshinyawesome" graphics system really is before developing for it.

There's nothing in the released info for GR or I17 that I've seen that says anything about 3d
  18. Yeah I'm not sure npcs ever engaged in emotes, except the ones you rescued, but it would be neat.

For the people worried about added lag, I'd amend the suggestion to say that maybe the devs could look into revamping the entire civilian system. As it stands, at least in certain zones, we have a metric ton of models simply walking around with little or no purpose (construction workers carrying lumber into the tram?). Strip out 75-90% of the pointless walking, and put in systems that give people purpose. Even if they didn't use the rest of my suggestion above, it would make the city seem more alive.
  19. I think you need to calm down a bit. We agree that Merits don't need to be tradeable. It's just that your argument in trying to get hung up on how many merits a character of a certain level "should" have, is broken.

You have a perfectly reasonable point. The logic and illustration behind it are kinda totally flawed though.

Not in the same day (for merit reasons) and certainly not back to back when I can move on to other and work on other badges and eventually the Task Force Commander Accolade. A while back I took an ILL/Thermal troller and did Posi starting at 10, that got her to 16 and then I hooked up with a Synapse that got her to 20. After completing her Costume and cape missions I got an invite to a a Sister Psyche at 21 and left that at level 25. Fifteen levels in one day and a total of 174 merits. That was back before players got to keep 5 powers above the TF max level and a our Posi, even with my stealth, took around 4 hours. Synapse was around 2 and Sister Psyche another 1 and a half. Even now... I just did a Posi with a good team and it took us about 3 hours plus to complete. I don't LIKE speed runs I do TFs for XP, Inf, and prestige first .. then Salvage, recipes and merits.
You are aware we can shut off xp any time we like, right?
