I am inclined to agreew ith your assesment James. Bases just dn't give me capacbilities I didn;t already have. If they get this whole CoP thing going and it's now important to ahve a functional base in order to ahve Items of Power (which are actually uesful, unlike tekleporter and resurection circles and such) then that will be a big step. If they get raids working then (for groups taht care about PvP) that will be quite helpful also.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't think teleporters are important? O.o
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, not at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Moving from Atlas to the RCS in one step is certainly a boon to me.
*shrugs*
I suppose that makes it important to me. -

It is my sad duty to inform everyone that August will be my last month with City of Heroes and City of Villains.
I am taking over community management of Tabula Rasa full-time as of Sept. 1st. Cricket will be your primary community person when Sept. 1 rolls around and I will no longer accept PMs as of that date.
I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone for all their support and kind words over the last two years. Even in the darkest hours I could always count on there being a few bright posts, emails or PMs in my inbox. These kept me going more than coffee ever could and they always brought a smile to my face.
I also want to thank everyone who has ever created well thought out, constructive post/PM. I know bugs or other game issues can be frustrating at times, but a community person's best friend is the player who takes that little extra step to research and document their issue while keeping it about the issue, and not about Statesman's momma.
Special thank you's to all the staff both here at NCsoft and at Cryptic for all your hard work, for answering questions and for listening to community concerns. Staff may not always agree - but they [u]always[u] listen.
Finally, thanks to you - the community. This has been a great community to work for and be a part of for the last two years and it's very hard leaving such a wonderful group of people. You are so intelligent, passionate, creative, funny and charming that it amazes me every day. And despite how it may appear on the surface sometimes - you all care for each other deeply and are always ready to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate. You are true heroes and there is no Paragon City without you. It has been my honor to serve you.

I belive my feelings can best be summed up succinctly, and to the point.
Ahem.

I have a small notepad next to my drawing table that I scribble a number of figures on before every project. They're usually just a couple circles and a few swishy lines, but it's a complete language to me.
So when I looked at that first rough sketch, I immediately saw TA kneeling atop a building (seen from the corner, camera looking upwards), one hand down as he gripped the bricks, the other supporting his weight in a tight grip on the staff. I can see what I thought were bats in the back (but later described at angels), a full moon, and even the shape of his legs.
Is any of that correct, or just my mad impression of your mad rough sketch? =)
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the exact same thing I saw. Glad to know that even being only marginally artistic, in the drawing sense, lets me see what some of the truly amazing artists see. -
I will offer a bit of personal preference, and you may take it as critique should you wish:
I loathe that particular filter. I like crsip, clean images, not the blurry, muddy effect.
Aside from that bit of preference, they're pretty cool! -
* Play Axis and Allies and take over the world as Japan, without Germany's help. Go eat a roll, Kaiserhead!!
* Sing as loudly as you can to "Down With the Sickness". I especially like the monkey ooh ooh ahh ahh part.
* Inhale Amnesia Dust. -

Can anyone out there recommend a updated web-site for badge information?
[/ QUOTE ]
Give CoH Guru a try, their list is up-to-I6-date, and I7 is currently prepared to be added (they already have I7 exploration badges)
[/ QUOTE ]
Their list of badges might be up-to-date, but I just looked at the site. They have quality control issues. They list the Air Pirate badge as the Black Scorpion description: this was a bug, and most people who have the badge know it. They don't have a lot of the ways to get badges, etc...
All in all, I'd say this is -not- a good place for badge information. -

I would rather be shot than listen to the type of abuse folks heap on each other nowadays. lol
heck, I would rather shoot them than hear it.
Now that is Southern. rofl
[/ QUOTE ]
That sounds about just right for a Southern attitude: I don't like your opinion, so I'll shoot you.
Thanks for confirming.
[/ QUOTE ]
To be fair, redneck mentality lurks in every corner of the USA. Southerners just may lie about it less.
[/ QUOTE ]
My statement was one that was meant to draw Rasta out to either defend his statement, or decry my generalization as too far-reaching, and indicative of a "Yankee's" repsonse. The reason? To illustrate that his generalization of Yankees being hellbent on making lives miserable by being rude was equally as absurd as my own statement.
However, it seems that the bait was not taken by the proper fish, and a lesson which was to be learned by guile must instead be taught by bluntness. This makes me sad. I -like- guile: it's more interesting. -

To everyone who's having character issues here, take time to pause. This villain is a sinister, brooding Mastermind; let's call him Baron Faust. With an army of the walking dead, he scoffs at the very idea of lowering himself to work with those pitiful whelps at Arachnos! He's stolen souls, he's defeated iconic heroes, he's...lost his ferry pass! Curses!
[/ QUOTE ]
Good thing Baron Faust has a base with Teleporters, and doesn't need the ferry system at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Baron Faust won't associate with other villains. They're too petty. He needs no Supergroup!
Seriously, though, does anyone actually do this? Is someone out there so committed that they won't use the ferry or helicopter lines? How does one PvP with that extreme devotion?
[/ QUOTE ]
A better question would be: why would anyone bother with PvP? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Really, if you're so concerned about your villain's character being "tainted" by Patron Pools, you're just too uncreative to deal with it.
Not all of the Ancillary Pools fit my heroes. But you know what? I thought of ways that they could. Everyone complaining here isn't limited by the game—they're limiting themselves.

QFT.
BTW, your avatar R0x0R5! Rorschach !

Or, maybe we ARE creative enough to have our own character ideas and not wish to be bludgeoned into submission simply because of a LACK of creativity on their part? -
[ QUOTE ]
I did like chum. Recalled the great 7-Up commercial with a taste test...
[/ QUOTE ]
I still say that you can maintain the "feel" of Chum Spray by calling it Chyme Spray. It's accurate, and, more importantly, sounds less campy than Chum Spray, but less...wimpy than Bile Spray. -
[ QUOTE ]
We have all kinds of concrete information. I'm not sure how people don't grasp this. We know the power names, we know their themes and graphics, we know we don't have alternatives, and we know we can't respec out of them. This has all been confirmed by Dev posts, interviews or Feature Update articles.
Are we really going to have to pull out the "I don't have to get kicked in the groin to know I won't like it?" comments again?
Damn, I did. I think I owe LaserJudas royalities now.
[/ QUOTE ]
You do. -
I think I won't level up my 40s, save for Sixteen of Clubs. I hate the Patron Pools, so I will simply avoid playing the characters that I don't want to be tied down with. I sincerely hope that, I believe it was Castle that said this, they are rethinking the Patron Pools.
If not, meh, I'll play my one Brute, and then play my Electric Brute. Then, I'll probably meander back to CoH. -

he problem, Pax, is that my Medic ALSO takes his own damage, and does not heal himself. Nor, quite frankly, does he heal anything else all that well, either. So, now, not only do I have to worry about pulling him from harm's way, but he's going to be attacked by proxy. Couple that with the fact that he's two levels below me, and therefore has fewer hit point, that "20 points" is a much larger chunk of real estate than you're giving it credit for.
*shrugs*
If you couldn't figure that out -without- the explanation, then I doubt you'll understand now.
[/ QUOTE ]
but this is silly. there are exceedingly few plausible situations where spreading damage among you rminions will result in you being less effective in combat. so it's utterly besides the point. On top of that, when the medic goes down you can bring him back up quickly.
Any situation where you're taking enough damage that it could kill your medic is not a situation where your medics heal will make an appreciable difference in survival - at least, not one that exceeds bodyguard's potential in the same situation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering that my Medic has always, in every instance of henchman death, been the first to die, I think this problem is -hardly- silly, but thanks for dismissing my opinion without knowing what you're talking about.
Perhaps you'll -ask- more questions, in the future, before making an asinine assumption about what does, or does not, happen, while I am playing my Mastermind. Just a suggestion.
