Thanks, btw it's light on purpose...

Actually it was sketched on computer with grey tones, using an almost white for the underlying body shapes, then a darker midtone grey for the armor details and the darkest grey for a quick outline.

The final will be a lot cleaner and in black of course...

I decided to throw out the COH armor.. I figured why limit myself, I'd rather design my own ornate armor, based on the arrows, and Celtic crosses... so this is a preliminary revamp.

Yes Thor's Assassin has done us all a great service!

However you should know Juggy's way faster than me, and is one of the few I would classify as a collector's style. Meaning once you've had others do your toon, you will have to add one of his, because it's like rounding out your collection with great variety and quality...

Btw you have very good taste, expensive tastes too!

Someone should write a collectors guide, hint hint hint! ------> TA or Turboski.... or post Bayani's.

I think your background is distracting, and you don't need it to be so busy... Also as a rule of thumb, if the focus is one color, I would go with a muted compliment to let the focus show up.

Otherwise fine start, enjoy the program, I love Illustrator! You should do a search on DA for free brushes, some good stuff there to play with...

I know I've seen this pose before... did you copy this? You know you should post your references when you do this, or a disclaimer of some kind. Don't take any offense, I just want you to improve.

Also don't wait to be contacted by the artist. Artists are busy people, often correspondence is the part they don't enjoy. Myself, I prefer that people asking for free stuff do it in this way.

1) Be polite - you have been.

2) Suck up gracefully - we all have egos, and flattery always works.

3) Post your screenshots immediately.

Make sure they are good large clear screenshots, and there is a sticky on how to ask. Altaholic Monkey has written a great guide on how to take good screens.

4) If you have no money, say so as humble as possible without being whiny. I use to do work for influence, don't be shy and offer some kind of trade. Many artists take art trades, not an option in your case, but even written stories is a decent trade. Some offer web services, logo designs, do your homework on who does free art, and perhaps privately ask that person, so you don't anger the less than generous.

5) Humor and Humility go a very long way.

Now all that aside, if your toons are cool enough, I'll give them a go, but color might not be possible as I have several paying clients ahead of you.

I blame myself for not heeding the warning signs. Last month I was one of the first to post, and I thought well I didn't give it my best. I thought I would wait it out this month, and then post, and I had my concept all along. Lady Recluse climbing down a stripper pole...

But the rules are the rules, and now I'm gonna miss out on all the fun... I'm actually kicking myself over this, but anyway, I don't want special treatment, good luck to the remaining artists, and watch your deadlines people!
