You might need some color sense.
There are plenty of mono- and duo- chromatic color schemes that look good.

when making a 3 color scheme that works..its best in my opinion to pick two colors that go well with each other.. usually a very dark color with a very light color.. and then accent those two colors with either black, white, or gold.
Sometimes I will choose two of my accent colors and pick one color that goes well with it..like The Crown who uses Black and Gold, and accents it with Red.
There ARE two color schemes that work though.. the key to a good 2 color scheme is focusing on textures and patterns rather than the colors. A 2 color scheme can look great if it is implemented in a way that looks clean.. but usually, again, it needs to have one of my three accent colors as one of the choices.
EDIT: I should also add that this is just my personal opinion. And also that Grey is another possible accent color.. I just dont use it much personally..as I feel it lacks the "pizazz" of Black/White/Gold
EDIT EDIT: I should ALSO add that 2 color schemes rarely work well with a tech look. They work best with silver/golden age heroes.
I know I was so blown away by your self-proclaimed awesomeness that I got really depressed and change all my characters to one color.

What's most amusing is the lack of any sort of link to this *cough* "Awesome" *cough* costume.
When I look at my awesome character with 3 coordinating colors in the theme, I can't help but look down on the 2 color people.
What 3+ color combinations work for you?
I'll admit that I'm a costume novice, and I find myself stuck with 2 base colors and metal accents.
I'm very interested in seeing other characters with a minimum 3 colors.
I classify a multiple color scheme as:
3 different colors, not different shades, across a minimum of 3 pieces. Fewer pieces are allowable with more color combinations.
And try not to look like a 5 year old that dressed themselves for the first day of kindergarten.
I'm sure that someone will impress me.
