First the Romans, then the Egyptians, then an entire zone based on the 70s!

Maiden of Archery...
I still have to fix somethings, and the background might change, but otherwise this will be my next piece, hopefully tomorrow I can color it.

I had hoped it was you, but wasn't sure if you could edit so far back... you still missed one, but I'm over it now.

To whomever fixed my name, I thank you!

You could also farm the project out in stages. Hire a penciler, inker an colorist... Most times the colorist could ink it as well.. but it might be the cheaper way to go. And that way you might have the finish layout faster than you expected, and if you didn't like the next two stages, you could always rehire a new inker and colorist.

It's a worthy cause, especially for someone who has tackled and succeeded well enough in the traditional theater... good luck DJ! And don't forget to share the artses...
We likes to look.

Some styles are cheaper than others, for instance if this was a Timm piece, I can't imagine it being the same as your standard comic book look. Also people who work in Vectors, or a Fusion style... or streamlined animation kind of like geometric pieces. Though this may not be to your liking, most artists have a standard + additional figure and detailed background cost, or you can individually per artist, who may not want to talk openly... and since we can't do that here anyway, you might also decide first what your budget is...

heh looking good LJ, nice touch on adding the close up of the face.
And you'll eventually get over your hesitance of drawing metal, just need to do enough pieces where it suddenly clicks as in "oh hey, this isn't so bad anymore" type of thing. You'll get there, just keep at it

Yeah it's not that I can't do it, I just have no fun doing it... so I put it off. But these are coming along nicely, should be done in about an hour... also this is just a breakdown for the client, the final won't have the close up, but then again the final is HUGE!
Thank everyone!

Batman is my favorite... the entire piece is stunning. How many hours total work time? And are "you" happy with it now?

Bluto: Kroger, your Delta Tau Chi name is Pinto.
Pinto: Why "Pinto"?
Bluto: [belches] Why not? -
As far as I know you can do it, but you can't mass produce it. That is to say, you could draw all the copyrighted characters you want, but not for a comic, not for a poster to be sold, tea cozies, etc...
I assume this is the sort of thing that protects artists at comic conventions who sell their on the spot work of copyrighted characters even if they have already drawn them for the various companies, and gotten paid a one time fee... -
I've seen people do a pretty decent version of the Spartan armor, or lack there of, it would be harder for a female toon, as there's no bare chest option... but that can be worked around.

Done!
I've had the costume since i11 came out, because I wanted to use the DB set with double Gladiuseseses...
Anyway, the helmet is the samurai helm with the large fin. I think you can figure the rest out. It looks better on a guy... in black and purple and muted brown.
But since Alex will attest to my being a costume who-re, the look did not last... so go ahead and take it with my blessing!

Egyptian headdress, baggy top, wrapped gloves, cloth belt, baggy pants, and either slip ons or wrapped legs.

Ah k, was afraid of that, but I am using Photoshop Elements when I do those tutes, I just have version 4 and not 6. I will try to do a step by step for you with just that subject in a few days. Gotta finish my robot metal hell first...
