artist suggestions
Some styles are cheaper than others, for instance if this was a Timm piece, I can't imagine it being the same as your standard comic book look. Also people who work in Vectors, or a Fusion style... or streamlined animation kind of like geometric pieces. Though this may not be to your liking, most artists have a standard + additional figure and detailed background cost, or you can individually per artist, who may not want to talk openly... and since we can't do that here anyway, you might also decide first what your budget is...

A big shot like that??
Wow, I'm guessing maybe GuildHelper could pull it off (but I find that once in awhile their big pieces are hit and miss).
If money was no object, I'd go with Doug - he's done some massive renders that would do it all justice.
Yeah, I'd have to play off of LJ's comments, actually...
What kind of style do you want it in? Painfully realistic? More "classic comic book?" Color, inks, pencils? Digital? Heavily stylized? (Anime/timms/samurai-jack-ish/chibi-ish?)
What *I* would do - other than work out what I'd be willing to have as a budget and time frame - would be to head over to DA. Thor's Assassin has a listing of commissionable artists, and tends to have style samples from them. It'll give a good idea of what's out there (and price!)
Ick, my bad, I should've included that yeah, I'd prolly be leaning towards the classic comic book look or the realistic comic book look. but sometimes ya see something that's not quite that but looks fairly well drawn in the same regard,.
Yeah I had thought of GH, but I've seen some really beautiful pieces done and then some good ones but still kinda average.
Heh, I was thinkin of Doug's work when I was thinking of who'd I'd like to get it drawn. I'd prolly have to save up a while but I think I'd willing to, seeing what quality work he's done. Regarding price, I'd figure to do something that big it'll be quite hefty a cost, but it'd be worth the cost. That being said, if I can find a steal for the piece to be done I wouldn't turn the chance down either. I'll keep running through the dA lists, see if something jumps out at me.
Thanx for the input and ideas.

You could also farm the project out in stages. Hire a penciler, inker an colorist... Most times the colorist could ink it as well.. but it might be the cheaper way to go. And that way you might have the finish layout faster than you expected, and if you didn't like the next two stages, you could always rehire a new inker and colorist.

I'm working on one with about 16 - and 50% through, I'm still afraid. lol

That's because you're smarter than I am. I wouldn't get afraid until I was halfway through it.
I used to draw group pictures a lot more often than I do now. I'd have like 8-20 people, but ... that was when I was still able to concentrate.
My crowning achievement of over 270 characters on my wall (a 4x2 foot added-together-huge-pages) has taken me over 24 years to do and is still in progress.... But it's also *not* an action scene
I'd say throw it at Brandon McKinney. He has done some great work - for me and for the business in comics - and is probably capable of it. Not cheap, but worth it for the cleanliness of his work.
Please read my FEAR/Portal/HalfLife Fan Fiction!

Wow, thats intense man, that collage of that many characters displayed like that has to be impressive. kudos!
heh, Brandon McKinney's work on this would be pretty slick. I've seen his work on the big names, TA, Feral Kitty, Rowr, Hex Girl, etc.
I've got someone interested in doing the piece, and we're in pre-planning stages for the piece. I'll post it here and who did it and all that jazz when it's completely finished. If they want to reveal themselves ahead of time its up to them.

Wanted to get y'alls opinion on something. Even though I've seen a variety of different artist through this section and dA, I still wanna get everyone's opinion as you guys have gotten a hella lotta more art than I have. lol
I wrote this short story about the 5 Heris and 5 Wherls a while ago. Not trying to toot my own horn about this btw. Just got creative one day while trying to summarize all 10 ladies and managed that story.
Anyhow, I had bounced around the idea of thinking of getting it drawn someday. I'm half considering jumping into demoediting and slowly positioning it into a screenshot, but that would only bring it visually so far.
What I'm looking to get is y'alls opinions on artists who you'd think would be really nearly perfect to draw a 5 on 5 confrontation like that.
I already know that it probably wouldn't come cheap. 10 characters, possibly 16 depending on if and how many of Wherrlwinds bots are in the mix, plus the background burning building. For the moment I'd just want artist names to consider.
Thanx for y'alls time.
