It IS a good idea and something that the EU servers need.

We need that global channel. (Check) We now have it (open for all).
It will be the global network that binds us together.
We will need a forum thread (or two) here on the forum, or our own forum if needed. If we are going to have an SG... (Here on the forum, easy enough to do)

The other thing to do is making some form of sg presence, for those of the players that wants to create a new base from scratch together. (Not that you cannot join with characters you already have and play with chars you already have and they DO NOT need to drop their sg to join/play!)

And thus languages becomes an issue to solve. Union and Defiant has English as default mission/content language. Vigilance has French and Zukunft has German.
& Some players has ONE server as their home. And sadly (me in example), my french and german skills are lacking. I wonder if it is reversed for the french and german community (on the english)?

So far its proposed to have atleast a base on each of union and defiant.
I wonder if we can put up a poll or something. Unless we have to make another thread with various suggestions and people posting their "vote".

I agree with Damz, we should bring any suggestions to the table fast and decide quickly so we are ready for when GR hits us.

What I really want to do is removing that "fight" between Union and Defiant that I believe you are referring to.
The two server names are mentioned because most of the players has characters in there. Most people speak English, Thusly it would be good to have some form of presence there with a base.
For this project I would have recommended that we just played on Vigilance or Zukunft... but I like to read missions etc and sadly I do not utter a word of French (Ok thats technically a lie cause every one can utter a word, so what I mean is I cannot understand the French language) and my german is veeeery rusty (been years since I learned its basics and then it was mostly for speaking german, not reading).
And thus we are forced Scarlet to either play on either server... or both.

The main thing is that this project is there to let us play with people we have not played with. Like people from other servers that you will not find on the server you play on.
Example: I have not played with Scarlet at all, since Well Scarlet is mostly Defiant. I have not played with Beber and the wonderful French community, nor the german community, since I'm on Union. (See how bad it is, I have no people to refer to when speaking of the german community?)

But if we are going to have to play together we are going to need a server to play it on (at least), so the question is which server(s) it should be. And it should not be only open for us forum goers and obvious name for us, but open for every other player that do not frequent the forum that much. But wants to play with a score of other people.
If we can get this global initiative to work (Well global as in 4 servers).

Due to badges a few heroes will go at least grey, maybe even to villains if that is required, and then they will go back to hero status.

I have a few in mind that could use going Grey, but not quite sure if they should fall or be totally redeemed.

Myself I am very partial to European Confederation (hero) and European Syndicate (villain). Thus not tying it up to a specific server.
However we should probably have a few names (incase the one we would like to have already has been taken).

Yes, we should be on a few servers.

Added rule to channel would be, open for all languages, (thus making it possible for all 4 servers to participate, as well as non-server tied languages) with English as default.

More should chip in on which names you like, and soon we should make those Sg's/vgs.
In any event it is clear for now that we should have a superhero and a supervillain sg, probably one group on each server.
Also Alts in the beginning would be ok, I do believe though that if we get near the max amount of players in the sg, that alts are freed up and goes into either a Coalition group designed to accept these alts or.. where they player want them to go.

(The following is only tied to server names, I do not say union is hero, defiant is villain. Its late so I had a weird idea tied to server names. European Union (hero), European Defiance (villain).
Broadly we could understand it with (We are united here on the servers on Union. We are Still alive and kicking living in Defiance (to any segregation)))

I was hoping an Artist (our of boredom, practice or most importantly kindness of your heart) would please like to draw my character Lady Arete.

Here is my Character Ref and in my signature I have her backstory (Your warned though, plenty to read ;P)

Quick story: Fiery red headed sorceress that grew up a little bad, came to Paragon City and fell in with Circle of Thorn mages. Got backstabbed, did a battle with Circle, imprisoned by PPD and after the Rikti war was over (forgotten in prison) she became a Hero and has been so ever since. With a Vendetta vs the Circle ofc.

Lofty title, so let me explain.
First read THIS Thread.

I did get intrigued by this idea and the possibility of playing with more players then just my home server (union). Being idealistic I thought hey, lets do what we can to get a better community. Having a global channel where everyone can talk and get to know each other. Maybe even find a team etc.
I realize that we DO have lots of channels for this, so yes this will in the end be a little specialized aswell.
Cause the idea of having a huge amount of players creating a sg base from scratch would be fun. It would be sort of "This is a base we all contributed to" Team spirit and all that.
So the Channel will be as time goes on limited to the people that join that SG/Coalition.

So since there was a little discussion and people showed interest and we had a few names for various sg well, lets get the ball moving.

If there still is interest then well do join in the channel and lets get the discussion to continue (as well as getting a decision).

Since this thread has had a pause for some time. It came to ideas etc for various names for the Supergroup/villain group.
I've decided it was time to move things one more step. Maybe a little late, but hey, getting the community together is a good cause anyway.

So I decided on making a global channel for the purpose of getting the 4 servers more together.
Rules may change/get added as more players join in and use the channel.

It will remain an open channel, for all players on the EU server list for some time (atleast) after GR hits us.

Its purpose is the eventual big SG/VG thingy for as many of the players as possible. Where players can team up and a lot of players can create a base together (when we hit the amount of player cap, we simply make a new sg and coalition... ok, I do have dreams, don't I? )

So.. name, right lets start off the adventure:
Europe United

Join the channel and lets get discussing on the road from here. If there still is interest in the project.

Hmm on a "What you must do" list:

Getting into the Shadow shard and travel via the "jump" system. (weeee)

Being part of a Rikti invasion team (Talos hill) & doing a Rikti Mothership raid.

Be a part of a successful Hamidon Raid.

Do Tina Macintyre and Maria Jenkins story arc and fight them Praetorians. Now mind the Devs have said that these arcs will get an overhaul in the near future as part of the launch of GR.

Do an Eden Trial (not speedrun) and go down into the earth. Did I say "wee"? If not I'll say it "wee".

Hmm for more low level.
Natural origin lvl 1. Do the missions that take you to a rather... funky mission set. Or Azuras (magic) hellion mission, that had a lot of fire...

Do one level run in the Hollows, without doing the Kings Row/safeguard for transport power (to appreciate running... mind its not as dangerous as it was), then follow through as you level with more safeguards.

Do the 4 contacts and task force in Croatoa (I love that zone).
Also make certain you do the contacts in Striga at the same time.

Oh yes the arc Freak-olympics.

PVP Zone:
Enter Bloody Bay and dodging villains (if you play heroes) manage to get the shivan shards, destroy the gunner base and thus be rewarded when you return with the Shivan shard temp power.

Warburg: Again if you don't fear other players, manage to get the 3 codes and Launch a rocket into the air. Just seeing it go up up up is fun.

Holiday events:
Skiing down the hill in the Lounge of D. With or without speedboost or Inertia R.
Collect a few candy canes.

Create a story arc in the MA.

And a whole lot more...

That was a nice Picture Wassy. Good drawing of both the characters and I did like the image of Frost there. The woman in the back do show her intentions.

Good question really. I'm not a pvp'er per see and I have not been in the zones in a long time. I do believe there are a few pvp'ers still around, I would search for a pvp channel and/or try the Arena chat.

Those few pvp'ers I knew moved. I'm on Union server. Could a pvp'er add more info please?

I do realize that my first pronounciation with the a(h) is wrong and is definitly not the same as with the link.
Nor had i thought of both at the same time, nor did I search for how it should be pronoucned with a H. Not that I would use the H in the word. (I fear I've writing myself into a situation that should have been avoided with the previous posts)
I should not have used the H with the initial attempt of pronounciation. It was a misguided attempt to try making the A heard as in: Pree-A-Torian.
From the sample I got later, I wanted to check if i had misheard or stuff, to my ears the sample makes the A go away, thus only: Pree-torian.

I have not said the word (pree-ah-torian) out loud where I sit, nor has it been my custom to do so. I tend to fall back to: Pree-torian.

I use the Pree-A(h)-Tori-aa
(Pre - (like in pre-something)- A (about same length of A as in "a house" - Toria (emphesis on "Tor" (but not with a "h" like "Thor" from mythology). The last A is long.

Although for me the A in the word "Preatorian" vanishes.

But then I have been playing Total War: Rome again and listened alot to the "Pretorians ready!" before my Pretorian cohorts where running into battle.

@Kheldarn, Thank you for the art. Nah, my character has not done much transformation. She is a sorceress, not a witch. However as CR did mention she knows a lot of fire spells.

I agree it breaks immersion...
Seeing Malta in broad Daylight in Peregrine Isle, or getting a paper mission where one of Malta bosses "calls you out". Or seeing Knives of Artemis so easily around... in broad daylight.

Its silly seeing Circle of Thorn mages conduct magical rituals in broad daylight in a public place, as it is seeing Vahzilok do the same.
Come to think of it, any group that relies on stealth or being subversive should not be that easy to spot in broad daylight.

Take Fusionette and Faultline (two heroes) that has gotten their names (one more then the other) dragged into the gutter by game mechanics, and Lady Jane being all "Gung-ho"-chick by us players.

I say Game-mechanics.
The Hidden enemy groups are not dumb or stupid, its breaking immersion so that we can easily street-swipe. It would have been better if we could see them only at night time, but then...
Imagine you get a hunt mission and you have to wait until nighttime (just as you have to wait for Banished pantheon masks spawning in Talos at night to get the badge... I imagine you would be annoyed if this was to go for more villain groups (I know I might).
Via the current game-mechanics we can take down the villains when we want and when we see them.

Personally I would DEFINITLY want to see the Devs replace the captured animation on many of the npc heroes that you are going to rendavous with. Come-on we don't need to see Faultline captured by Rikti, (make him fight them).

What I'm trying to get here is... the fact that immersion has to be put aside for the gameplay/mechanics. Thats my two cents anyway. (I wish it was not)

@peacemoon. Oh yes having Paragon Protectors fight crime etc since they "publically" "are" heroes, through Creys publicity machine. I like your idea.
