It's from a Japanese Mega Drive game called "Zero Wing". When it was translated to English for the European market, they didn't do a very good job with the intro, creating the basis for the "All your base are belong to us" meme[s].

To be honest, I'm doubtful there's many people at all that have played it, so you shouldn't feel too bad about missing out on it.

    Ouroboros costume pieces.

    That, or a server wipe.

I hope it's the first one.

I'm being screwed. This is a slap in the face. This is not the way...

Duck costume pieces confirmed with the release of the Staff power set.

  5. I would have to chime in with agreement about the steepness of the price for this particular style of item.

The rare occasions I would use the costume on any of my characters doesn't justify the $7.50 price when an entire new powerset can be purchased for essentially the same price.

Looking forward to future offers though, and it'll be interesting to see how the community manages to help shape the trend of pricing over the next few weeks.

I have it on good authority that Stuff™ should be expected to be released Soon™ most weeks. Unfortunately, there may sometimes be Technical Difficulties™ that prevent Stuff™ coming out on time, delaying the release until Later™.

After a quick check on the Wikipedia page you hinted at (I'd never heard of it before, not really a fan of G.I. Joe), the only thing common between my concept and Cobra-La is the basic idea of a society of humanoid reptiles (although Cobra-la seem more snake-like than lizard).
Slenszic's people are a much simpler community who do not have advanced machines or technology, making do with only basic tools. The idea of them is meant to be reminiscent of Amazonian or pre-colonization Polynesian tribes in terms of development.

Anyway, appreciate the reference, I now know something more.
    And knowing is etc. etc.
  9. My Stalker is part of a sentient lizard-like race of small numbers; they lived in communion with an unspecified Earth entity before being displaced by profit-hungry humans aided by Longbow. After being removed from his land, Slenszic found his link to the Entity had become stronger, allowing him to use its energy to protect himself from attacks and even blend in and hide amongst materials extracted from the ground.

By accessing his Incarnate abilities, Slenszic has found he is now able to channel the consciousness of the Entity which provides his defenses, being able to hear its will and, on rare occasions, even converse with it in vague terms.

It is still unclear what the ultimate purpose of this Entity is or what it intends to do to achieve its goals.
  10. I suspected as much what with the lower price of the set. Thanks for the answer.

Guess it gives me chance to pick and choose which parts I'd like to go with the clothes. (Although it would be nice to have the option for a bulk purchase of the entire pack)
  11. Wanted to ask a little question about the costume packs now available on the Paragon Market; specifically, what they contain. Is it only the costume pieces - with other parts that were previously part of the Boosters sold separately - or does the 400-point pack contain the entire set?

If the latter applies, has there been any word on a bundle of the previous booster sets being put together?
  12. I noticed this myself when I tried to load a pre-saved costume to use for a new character. The Wisps Aura I had saved for him was coming up as unavailable. However, on my level 50 main, I checked at the Tailor and saw the aura there, second to last choice in the list. It looks like may have been changed, either intentionally or not, to require the Aura mission/store unlock.

While his heart was in the right place, the Little Clockwork Hero had the wrong approach with helping Paragon's citizens across the road.
  14. Welp, there we go. Guess I'll have to buy it at some point.
  15. What they said.

Not all of them do. It's either facebook, twitter or the forums, chosen at random.

    Call it

One of the main things I anticipate it will open up is an actual market for those darned pet IOs that drop Hero-side.

Niviene: But I am a Mutant! Look, my arm has a weird wooden growth.
Store Employee: ...that's a bat. Attached with duct tape.
    Niviene: Mutant duct tape!
Store Employee: I'm sorry, you can't have any of our new Bioluminescent formula. Please leave. Forever.

What does need Ultra mode are the new reflective surfaces, as they have to map the surrounding environment to work.

On a related note, am I the only one who expected some kind of animation when glowing textures were mentioned? Rather than just a static luminosity, I imagined something that faded in and out, even just a subtle amount. Maybe that's a future feature (*crossed fingers*).

I think the argument is not that mutants == anthropomorphic animals, but that bestial appearances are asubset of the mutant stereotype. It's an effective way of promoting the idea of DNA alteration via chimaerism. As others have pointed out, there are many comicbook examples of mutants with animalistic features; I daresay more than there are with organic growths or bioluminescent pockets of skin. Even CoV's token Mutant is a shark-man.

I realise Paragon's art department may purposely be trying to broaden the idea of a mutant appearance, but I don't think they should ignore the more well-defined area of the origin.

theOcho was horrified to learn his Praetorian counterpart is a Resistance grunt:

    -"Dude, I am a troublemaker!"

There is no option with-skins option in there (which seems kinda silly). I think what bAss did was simply match up a red skin colour with a shade in the costume colour choices.

My own opinion on the pack so far (still test, remember) kinda mirrors the sentiment of several other posters; the costume pieces, although very well done, feel very specific and restrictive in use. I can't really see myself using many of the options isolated from the others.
The CC emotes are awesome, and the new power seems like a nice extra boost, but considering the premise of the pack, the costumes could have had a lot more potential. Stuff like new bestial parts (in huge demand), a few new chest/belt/shoulder items, some face details and maybe a new aura (dripping pleeeeease?) would help pad this booster out and make a good ending for the origin series.
