  1. Know what I find incredibly convenient? The fact that the DA beacon sends you to just outside the base portal entrance. Makes it nice and simple to unload enhancements at the vendor there for full value regardless of type and then get right back to wherever I was via my base. Its less running around than going to RWZ imo.
  2. Another place the lockdown storebought proc shines is aoe holds with 240sec cooldowns

even with the penalty for being aoe its 100% chance to proc turning your aoe hold into a mag 5 aoe hold for 8 sec every time you fire it, which gives you ample opportunity to slap a ST hold on a boss to make sure they stay held.

If your aoe control power also takes damage sets (a few do) a damage proc would also turn that power into a pretty decent aoe for a controller... especially if you used an epic dmg proc like say a store bought epic hold set dmg proc or the epic controller ATE set proc

the value of such a proc in an aoe control is probably much less for other AT's though since they typically have better aoe dmg options than controllers do. The store procs would also not be 100% in long recharge aoes like volcanic gasses since the proc rate is not determined by the long recharge in that case... but rather the recharge time of the pulsing psuedopet powers which is much shorter.

    Thanks!
At lvl 35 if you are a villain already you can simply do the arcs that unlock a patron power pool. From that point on anytime you respec you'll be able to choose any of the patron power pools or the standard epic power pools.

If you are NOT a villain however you'll have to do tip missions to change your alignment so you can go to the Rogue Isles and do the patron arc of your choice. Then you'll have to do a series of tips again to transition back to being a hero.

Once unlocked you'll always have access to the patron pools regardless of your alignment.

    it wont

Basically if you put a proc into a pet summoning power (or pseudopet like distortion field) the proc rate is based on how often whatever powers those pets (or pseudopets) use are cycled. So if your pet's blast has a 10 sec cooldown then that is the recharge rate the proc uses to determine its ppm.
  5. I have 2 placeholders on Guardian (my home server)

Nature's Rage my soon to be Beast Mastery/Storm Summoning mastermind and Velocilad my soon to be Staff Fighting/Super Reflexes Scrapper.

Both have multiple costumes all set

    you can't

Using burnout and activating Unstoppable again will replace your current unstoppable buff with a fresh one

that said I am unsure if the crash will happen the moment you hit the new unstoppable or at exactly 2 min after hitting it the first time.

In any case you'll never bypass the crash. Once upon a time when unstoppable was permable players still had to manage the crash even though it refreshed the bonuses
  7. I'd recommend taking the ST hold from an APP at 35 if possible and slot it for both dmg and hold so it could pull double duty as dps and mez.

I like to slot such powers with an acc/dmg/rch from thunderstrike, a pure dmg IO, a dmg/mez hami and 3 pieces of the lockdown set (acc/hold, rch/hold and either the hold proc or the acc/rch depending on my needs)
  8. Incidentally you cant seem to "stack" the proc x3 in mids like you can with other stackable effects.

You mean you aren't stacking tons of recharge to permadom without hasten and then throwing hasten on top for even MORE recharge????

    (i'm totally being silly btw)

Incidentally scrapper smite recharge time is 6 seconds compared to dom's 8 seconds.

Also, not every Blaster can operate at 80' all the time, nor should they - that turns all their melee and PBAoE powers into situational ones, and no other AT has that many situational powers.
Sadly thats how I tend to build/play my blasters.

I just dont like melee and I build purely for ranged attacks with the occasional nuke thrown in for fun. Its why I feel like I am playing with only 1 powerset half the time on a Blaster cause I just think its silly to get into melee with such a fragile AT. I take whats useful at range in the secondary (attacks like psychic scream, buffs like build up and powerboost as well as mez's like dark pit or scare) and eschew the melee attacks where possible. I end up with lots of pool power utilities like fighting pool powers, stealth, hasten, sometimes medicine, etc. The APP's are also a big part of any blaster I make.

Whats funny is this style of play actually works for me but I feel like I should just play a corruptor and have more useful stuff from my secondary and better values from the pool powers.

I'm aware of that but Tenebrous Tentacles isn't a pseudopet. I was talking specifically about dots, which TT is.

I'd also be interested to see how the Gravitic Anchor proc works in Tenebrous Tentacles. TT is 8 tics of DoT, and that -might- qualify it for 8 chances per enemy to trigger the proc. Even if it only triggers once every ten seconds or so, it will make a difference in conjunction with Abyssal Gaze.

I'm enjoying my Dark/Energy Blaster tremendously. The AoE is a bit lacking (I skipped the cone KB), but it's a steady single target killer both at range and in melee. Power Boost and Boost Range make for interesting tactics.

My overall plan is to make both a PvE and PvP build, but we'll see how it goes.
Dots do not trigger procs per tick. They only have their chance to trigger checked when the power is initially activated. You'll get a check for every mob you hit with it but only one check each.

But I am sure thats just because I am not skilled enough to build or play Blasters to their utmost peak
  15. The new opportunity to earn emp's and the upped threads on the daily repeatable are awesome forthcoming changes.

The emps in particular will allow people to break the level shift barrier in much more reasonable amounts of time without being at the mercy of the RNG.

The thread increase for the daily repeatable will be incentive for me to actually DO it. I've been ignoring the repeatables simply because they just dont pay out enough threads. Now at least i'll be inclined to do it once a day... if you increase the follow ups to 3-5 threads a day I'd probably do more of the repeats than just the one.

Fixed an issue with Tanker single-target powers where their proc chance for PPM enhancements was erroneously being penalized for Gauntlet's AoE. Tanker attack powers should now have the same proc chance on PPM enhancements as other Archtypes' versions of those powers.

  18. I feel it should be part of the game at no cost but if it meant getting it now and not waiting more months/years I'd gladly pay.
  19. Honestly I'd like to see either a more reliable way to get the emps via DA or some way to convert astrals into emps. Thats the real stickler blocking advancement. Getting tons of commons and uncommons gets your to tier 2 in a reasonable amount of time. Getting to the level shifts? Not so much.

I mean dont you get tons of emps running the trials? Is earning 1 emp a day too much to ask for from the solo path?
  20. One thing I noticed in the new Dark Astoria is how some of the minions of Mot have these amazing looking blasts and "spines" powers that have a dark "outline" of energy with a bright interior... its not dissimilar to the the auras around the hands when using Dark Control powers.

I'd love to see such a mixed bright/dark option for all powers!

I really like that idea of using a vendor to take a catalyst and put it in the "character item" email tab... maybe have an inf cost associated too as another way to draw some inf out of the system.
  22. I know several people have asked for it in the other forum sections but I thought it couldn't hurt to have it here front and center.

Considering the limited and very specific use for catalysts, its highly probably that the rng can gib you by dropping catalysts only for characters who don't need them. With no way to make use of them on one character they will simply pile up and serve no purpose.

Please make them account bound so when we do get one we can actually use it. Even if that means mailing it to another character on our account.
  23. I think there'd be quite a few angry customers looking for refunds if they nerf the ppm system/formula in a big way. And rightfully so.

I'm not saying broken things should be left broken but when something is advertised to work a certain way and you charge real money for it and then change the way it works you've basically got a "bait and switch" situation.

They would have to refund points to anyone who was unsatisfied with how the proc works if changed. Granted the store bought enhancement procs system is designed around recharge times and probably didn't take passive powers into account and changing the way the performance shifter proc (and similar procs) works in a PASSIVE power should be ok. As long as the current proc per minute system continues to function normally in activated powers.

Oh and for some useful information: Powers like pets or pseudo pet creating powers do NOT use the ppm formula based on the casting power's recharge but rather the recharge time of the powers the pets/pseudo pets use.

So say putting the smashing dmg proc from the KB set into Phantasm will not make it so all Phanty's blasts will essentially have guaranteed procs. The proc rate will be based on how quickly Phanty cycles his powers.

I have it in haymaker as well and it doesn't fire off anywhere near as much as I expect it to

My dom can stack his proc (3/min not catalyzed) relatively quickly and keep it up without much trouble in a power that has an identical recharge time (8 seconds) while my tanker has the epic proc (6/min) can hardly ever stack it and often goes with no procs at all.

My expectations aren't high I just expect it to work as advertised.
