-Finish getting the Keyes Island Reactor Trial and Underground Trial badges, so I can claim the elusive Master of Masters not-badge.
-Finally get around to getting a 3rd character to 50.
-Insist one last time that there should be a badge for killing enough Nemesis Jaegers called the Jaegermeister badge.
Hey guys, we really should get a badge for killing a lot of Nemesis Jaegers! Like a Jaegermeister badge! -
My first is my namesake. His look hasn't really changed over the years. The idea is that he's a suit of armor possessed by it's deceased owner, so there isn't much opportunity to change the pieces. I did replace the original head wings with the near-identical but much cleaner valkyrie ones.
The nice thing though is that I could goof off with his alternate costumes and have it just be a different paint job. Perhaps spoofing other players...
Though I did break down and give him a new set, justified as some kind of incarnate-ascending thing.

Yes, it was posted on the Titan forums that the people we were emailing do speak fluent English.

I just sell my insps. If it's a tier 1 I use it. If it's tier 2, I save it, once I have 3 of it I convert them to wakies because the insp vendor at your SG base buys them for 600 inf and other tier 2's for 200; thus it's just more efficient to convert all tier 2's to wakies. Tier 3's I sell on the market, because I get a lot more money that way.

Quote:My understanding is that execs won't sign off on releasing spoilers for something that isn't already doomed. While yes, there are more factors than just "Is it doomed?" it's STILL a good sign. As for having them written up, that's just polite. And probably not time consuming at all given that he would have the current lore bible on hand.He said on his twitter within the last 24 hours that he's just waiting for a signoff, apparently from NCSoft, to be able to do it. Here, let me find his twitter link:

Q: Any news on when we might be getting our lore AMA answers, please?
A: Answers are written, waiting for sign off from execs.... -
Quote:Not the best fitting link, but... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7uqCZCgRKUAbsolutely. It's not even just about making sure CoH continues on... For me, at least. People say this and that is acceptable and standard big business operating procedure and that you can't fight it, you can't beat it, and so on... Well, I don't accept it. I wish to change those standards. I'll fight it and I'll be damned if I listen to anyone tell me I can't win.

The only person I ever knew to ragequit the game did so over ED. I've known a lot of people that burned out over the years though, myself included. I was... extremely aggravated at most PuG's when the first 2 iTrials came out, so I took a step back and figured I'd probably come back to the game when I could enjoy it again. I kept my subscription though.
I have seen a lot of people who burned out and stayed out come back over the last 2 weeks though. And for them, it's new and fun again. -
Sweet Zombie Jesus is that evil! No wonder they're a galactic menace!

Aren't the marches, rallies, and the Posi runs supposed to be morale boosters? You know, on top of keeping server activity up, which indicates how much the game is still in use despite the looming doom.
For further morale boosting, as was pointed out in another thread, Posi HAS NOT answered the lore questions. It's been about a week since he originally planned to release them. Considering that plot spoilers would only be released for a absolutely doomed game and we're not getting said spoilers.... you get the idea. -

I'm not saying anything new here but... we're heroes. This is what we do.

I never looked at any of the build guides on the forums. I'd always go for something thematically appropriate for my characters' powersets... and then force it to work. I started out in I4 on a BS/DA scrapper (therefor before the global defense nerf and ED and thus when DA was clearly underperforming) and the only advice was given to my constantly running out of endurance and faceplanting was "Reroll to invuln." So naturally, I pushed up to 50. Stubbornness and spite do make for badass builds, I have to say. Of course, the changes to the game over the years have certainly helped too.

Clearly, it was a Nemesis Plot that killed the game.

As much as I've been bouncing back and forth between hope and crushing despair, thank you for the reminder. Just remember, the silence could always be worse.

Basic question on human nature: How many people have been won over by being yelled at? What's the difference when the person being yelled at is someone with authority and power? How often has some jackass yelled at YOU and you figured, "**** that guy! I'll spite him and do the opposite!"? Why do you think that this situation is in any way different?
Ultimately this is a PR battle. We can't go after NCSoft financially because we don't have the numbers to make a meaningful impact. I mean, look on these boards at the number of people playing Guild Wars 2. We were the smaller part of their revenue, obviously small enough to be disposable, and we can't even boycott (nevermind all the obvious stuff about not being the target demographic, etc.) as a unified group. We need this to be a PR battle because otherwise we're about as effective as soloing Hami at level 1. TonyV's whole campaign here draws outside attention, because that's the only way we can have meaningful numbers on our side. It's the lever that moves the world, or whatever analogy of working effectively you like.
As far as PR goes, people generally like underdogs. We're underdogs. We've been getting all this media attention (more attention than the game has had in YEARS as near as I can tell) because we're underdogs. Even bigger, people are far more likely to support the side that's clearly the good guys. Those dinner donations last week for the devs? That clearly makes us the good guys. The other side of the good guy coin is that people love to see an ******* get what s/he deserves. If we're kicking, screaming, yelling, throwing tantrums and being pissy cause our toy is being taken away then, surprise surprise, we look like ********. At which point all that "City of Children" crap becomes the truth in the public eye and we're back to being too small to be capable of getting anything done.
So you want to fight? Fine, great! Fight effectively. Nuclear isn't effective. At best you're not doing yourself any favors, and at worst you're shooting yourself in the foot. -
I'm extremely worried about this move. Sure, it has the potential to do good, probably; but it also can very easily backfire horribly. I'm not going to go on much about that because frankly it's gone back and forth enough in this thread.
That said, I will be writing an email. However, I will give a couple days to mull it over. For obvious reasons, I do NOT want to screw it up. So I need to make absolutely sure that I do it right. And, admittedly, in case a redname jumps on saying something to the effect of "Guys, not cool. STOP!" I'd rather not have contributed to the final nail in the game/community's coffin. Again, I'm thinking it over so I can do this the most effectively. -
In my experience Master of 5th Column Task Force is the easier to pull off, but the ITF is always a fun slog.

Quote:I can't make art to save my life, but I can chip in for the supplies to make a paper mache Statesman. Now that we have some media contacts listening, how about organizing A GIGANTIC SIMULTANEOUS FLASH MOB ACROSS ALL OF NCSOFT'S GAMES? How about contacting real-world flash mob organizers to GET A CROWD TO SHOW UP COSPLAY STYLE OUTSIDE NCSOFT'S NA OFFICES? How about ERECTING a giant paper mache Statesman mask right outside NCSoft's NA offices, covered with 20,000 SIGNATURES?
As for the simultaneous flash mobs.... do we really want to give them money by buying more of their games? -
.... I never picked up on that until now. But once G'Kar starts writing his book in that series...
-
Completely understandable. And again, I'll be there as the designated driver regardless.

A statue or something regarding Atlas 33. Even if it's just a giant 33 written on the side of the globe.
