    There is a type-o in the notes. You somehow misspelled Chum. I know it's an easy word to miss-type, so we forgive you. Please update the notes. Thanks!

    Reference for Corruptors...

    Soul Drain
    * Unenhanced damage @ lvl 40: 38.2 (N. Energy)
    * Self +DMG, +ACC
    * Range: PBAoE
    * END: 20
    * Recharge: 240 secs

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'm hoping these numbers will be expanded upon somewhat. First thing I noticed looking at the Ghost Widow plaque was that Soul Drain doesn't give numbers for how much damage/accuracy are buffed nor for how long the buff lasts. I can assume that these stats are the same as the Dark Melee version, but isn't the point of the plaques that all information is provided to the player? In any case, I bugged the lack of completion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    If that's the information from the plaques I am wildly unimpressed. That is radically insufficient for choosing among power pools when the choice is permenant and unalterable.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Well, it does give me enough information to go *bleah*. 4 min recharge on Soul Drain. Ugh. Isn't the Scrapper/Brute version 2 min base time? With 3 rch in it its up pretty much every fight. Weren't the PPPs suppost to be better? Defenders get build up in one of the APPs, is it on a 4 min timer too?

    Grrr.... really. I've gotten a few hero's into the APPs and they flat out rock. Usually there is at least one *WOW* and then one or two really good powers in each APP. I've yet to see anything in an APP that is a clearly better choice than a skipped Primary/Secondary power. Or even some standard pool choices. My Brutes normally pick up tough, and skip Weave.... well, do I want a (another) 2 or 3 BI attack, or Weave? My corruptors and Dominatiors usually skimp on pool picks to grab as much from thier primary/secondary as possible. So I'm looking at (for example) leadership picks or PPPs, and so far Leadership looks better.

    I understand the need for balance but clearly PPPs are pure flavor picks. Minimal Utility, long recharges, and low power attacks. Feh, I say. Feh, and Bleah.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Unless this version of Soul Drain has its +DMG (~10% per baddie in the DM set) and/or duration (30 secs in the DM set) inflated to match this ridiculous recharge then PA-TOOEY!

    Cryptic: We really should have at least the +DMG/per and +ACC/per for this power. The duration would help immensely also.
  3. At a high-level, as a DM/EA, my heads-up or one-on-one survivability appears to be moderately better.
    Also, I appear to be taking slightly fewer hits from ranged foes and/or those foes out of THD reach.

    FWIW, this is about what I expected with the change.
    Oh, and LB bosses are still pretty much as tough as they are live.

    as I am unable to test this myself for now. does this mean you can theoreticly do *all* the arcs before you choose to take the power ? if so I am confused as to the respecing issues

    [/ QUOTE ]

    About "respecing"...if you want to run paper mishs or mishs from non-PPP contacts from 40-49, theoretically, I think that you can.
    Thus, you could respec just fine...just like prior to I7 if you will.

    If you did non-PPP mishs from 40 to 43 then chose a PPP contact/arc and respec'd later, I think you would be allowed to respec your level 41 "non-PPP" power, slots at 42, slots at 43 and that would be it...of course, anything before level 41 you could respec as well.

    This is how I understand the design, but I may be myself.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You can only do one arc, and that arc unlocks a new power pool with 4 new powers in it. That new power pool choice is permanent and cannot be changed. So if you do Mako's arc and unlock his pool you cannot then do Black Scorpion's arc and unlock his pool.
    The powers within that pool are respecable though. So if at level 41 you take bile spray, and at 44 you take shark skin then run a respec you can change those power choices to something else in Mako's pool or something in your primary or secondary.
    Every power you choose is respecable. The only thing that is permanent is the power pool you chose to unlock by running that particular arc

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Thanks for straightening me out.

    Shark Skin
    * Self +RES (S/L, Cold)
    * END: 1 unit/sec
    * Recharge: 4 secs

    I don't understand, Shark Skin is auto like the "fitness" pool? Why does it have a 4 sec recharge or is that a typo?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    FYI - If it's a typo then it's Cryptic's. I'll check the statue again today when work cools down.

    Is that a 'normal' END value for an auto?
    If it's indeed an auto then I hope the actual RES value is more 'togglish'.
  6. I guess I'll comment on the Brute arc missions here as well...

    In the last (gigantic) room of the first BW mission (Defeat all Longbow in base), are the elevators supposed to work?
    I got "you cannot enter" on the two that I saw.
    SJ'ing around was only mildly annoying, but SS'ers may go nuts in that room.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    If I understand you correctly, no.
    You take powers at 41, 44, 47 and 49 as you hit each level...just like levels 38 and below.
    At each of the other levels 40 and up, you get 3 slots...42, 43, 45, 46, 48 and 50.

    At 41, 44, 47 and 49, you are NOT forced to take PPPs.
    You can take 'older' powers from you primary, secondary or whatever general power pool you have already (or yet) chosen, if you want to.

    AirWulf, name ALL of the transformers from the original series, Dinobots and all lol, I dare ya.

    This is just from memory at the moment with no googling...
    Optimus Prime
    Jazz
    Bumble Bee
    Cliff Jumper
    Iron Hide
    Ratchet
    Wheel Jack
    Sun Streaker
    Mirage
    Brawn
    Hound

    Prowl
    Sideswipe
    Trailbreaker
    Huffer

    Grimlock
    Slag
    Sludge
    Swoop
    Snarl

    Thats really all I can recall from the origanal series. There might be more, like the Aerial bots and the City-bots, but its been so long that I think those were part of G2.

    Decepticons:
    Megatron
    Star Scream
    Soundwave
    Rumble
    Ravage
    Ratbat
    Laserbeak
    Thundercracker
    Shockwave
    Skywarp
    Ramjet

    Insecticons:
    Kickback
    Bobmshell
    Shrapnel
    Venom

    Constructicons:
    Formed Devestator
    Long Haul
    Mixmaster
    Hook
    Scavenger
    (one or two more. Can't think of the names)

    Thats it. My brain is now sufficiently fried. I haven't had to think about Transformer names like that in a long time. Was fun. Can anyone add any without googling? I know there are a bunch from season 3 and on but this is all I could recall of the first season or two.

    Will you delve into Ghost Widow’s darkest desires, Sirocco’s shocking secret, Mako’s dangerous drive, or Black Scorpion’s shadowed past?

    So now we know:

    Ghost Widow: dark powers
    Sirocco: electric powers
    Mako: car powers? golf powers? heh
    Black Scorpion: shadow powers

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I thought the same.

    Then I thought, Mako? Drive? What?
    No, that's "uh-ohhh, better get MAACO"....which usually means that you aren't driving ANYWHERE for awhile.

    I'm confused.
  22. That's good to know, thanks....always looking for more slots, of course.

    And I agree with the situational needs of Power Shield.
    Heck, I shut it off mid-scrap even (e.g., after killing the Galaxy and/or Vamp in a spawn of Council).
  23. Thanks for posting this, good job!

    Question...with Energy Drain slotted like you describe, have you tested or experienced the feasibility of pulling the EndRed slots out of Kinetic and Power Shields? I'll only have it slotted 2 Rech / 3 EndMod, FWIW.

    Oh...and with Power Shield, you forgot to stick that in your build template at level 4.

    Again, nice work

    To answer your question about the confirmation of my -ToHit DeBuff numbers, yes. Those were confirmed values. I was actually pleasantly surprised and very grateful to receive the amount of communication to my queries that I did. I think that says a lot about the staff at Cryptic. They obviously really care about this game, and thier playerbase. Probably one of the main reasons I came here to try my hand at it, after suffering under the tyrannical and fickle demigogues at SOE.
