  1. I definitely like the new look. It still has the same old 'skulls' feel, but a heavily updated and refined, to make them look more unique. While I'm not a fan of the club hair (I'm not a fan of that style itself... although many people out there actually have that and similar styles), it works quite well for the skulls and what they are.

A huge number of builds you see posted on the boards do, for every powerset combo basically.

And, if anything, this'll make Tough more appealing for basically anyone that isn't going over the hard cap.

Wouldn't telling us we'll get info about a topic 'soon' quality as getting info, for an adequately broad definition? And then, if we're told the information is 'we won't be getting any other info this week', wouldn't that still quality as information?

Also, would the information "Kitsune Knight is being rewarded all Tier 9 VIP items that have been cycled out" qualify? 'Cause I missed Celestial (why was ~Freedom release the time I choose to take a break! Although I like Fire & Ice... not really into the whole Mecha thing, though... Tech Knight looks like another winner, though!).

It's doubtful that 'rereleasing' it would take any extra time for the art team (the guys that make all the t9 VIP items... at least the ones made so far), if they simply cycle it back in. It seems that's not what they want to do, though. I think the main problem is they've not really decided how they want to bring it back... whether back as a t9 item, putting it up for sale on the market, or some other means.

I could see them waiting a bit longer, for after Tech Knight is out for a while (and Fire & Ice have been out of circulation for a bit), and then announcing a special weekend/week event where Celestial and Fire & Ice will be brought back at the T9 VIP items for the duration, before going back to Mecha and Tech Knight (or waiting another cycle before doing it). They could even position it right between when sets are cycled, so that before they add Tech Knight, they take down Fire & Ice, and put Celestial in its place for short period of time, then put up Tech Knight (although, again, if they're doing that, I'd figure they'd wait a bit longer before cycling back).

If the Devs keep adding new T9 VIP items, eventually they'll end up with a large collection of unavailable costumes... I can't see them simply sitting on them and doing nothing. They may or may not cycle them back, but I'm sure we'll see them again (hell, they could do what they're doing with Shark Week, and have a little fun event and hand out random codes to players for part/the full set as rewards). Soon, though, doesn't seem likely.
  5. It depends on your build, and what you'd do with the alternative power pick + endurance instead.

With how resistance (and defense) works, each further point is relatively more potent than the last, it's really a case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts, so IO resistance + tough would be a fairly good combination. That doesn't mean there aren't better combinations out there, though, but that'll depend on the specifics if the build.

The only case where it's fairly clear cut, I'd say, is when the IO resistance bonuses already put you to the resistance hard cap for S/L. Even then, there's a touch of wiggle room (you could still use the power as a mule). Edit: EnigmaBlack pointed out something that slipped my mind... if you're getting Tough to get Weave anyways.
  6. My only problem with this event is I'm running it on Freedom... Right now... literally.

Oh, you noticed it. You're just in denial about it!
  8. I got my Peacebringer to 38 and Light Form. I'd been doing quite good the entire way. I'd just gotten the power (the animation set to Wispy for classicness ) and the team I was on starts the next mission (Arachnos).

Before the first group, I hit Light Form (which puts me to the hard cap for all but psi/toxic). I run in, alongside an /Invuln Brute... I immediately get stunned and start wobbling around. I immediately thought 'wait, Light Form was supposed to grant you mez protection, this can't be happening!' and... a moment later I'm dead (and so was the /invuln Brute).

Long story short: I realized Light Form provides practically no mez protection (~2.6 when you get it, 3.something at 50). After going a few more missions, I shelved that PB. Didn't even play any Sunday.

Oh well, so much for getting a 50 that I could seriously play through the Incarnate content (especially DA) with. At least First Ward and Night Ward were fun (even if the Animus Arcana repeatedly handed me my ***!).

    Oh, you said fun.

Better than when the entire screen was just dedicated to Statesman doing a pelvic thrust into your face!

You'd just be playing the game, minding your own business... then out of no where, BLAM! Statesman would be all up in your grill, trying to rub his crotch on your face!

    Yeah, no. Just... no.

(Personally, I think the new login screen is good... my only problem with the current one is Penny is in a really weird position!)
  10. I'm sorry you miss staring at Statesman's bizarre flat crotch

I, for one, am glad I never had to stare at State's crotch.

And I do go that way!

Wait, what are we upset about?
  13. My favorite part of the TF was when we didn't realize we were fighting the final boss until half way through. Favorite in the sense that it was when we realized we were seconds away from finishing that horrid thing.

I don't exactly recall the chronology, but I'm pretty sure the Katie Hannon Task Force was the first TF added to the game that was actually fairly decent (I miss when everyone was running it constantly!).
  14. You forgot the part where you use the same mission door for multiple missions. Good times!

Plus you said Positron was a [eradicate]. Not cool, dude, not cool!

Why does the Paragon Market limit us to being able to only set an item's quantity to no more than 10?

Feedback? All I saw was a bunch of passive aggressive whining, starting with the title. Delivery matters if you want to garner any support.

People are just upset because they can't complain anymore about not being able to customize Hasten.

  21. Oh, please, let us have Psionic Nexus!

Fighting Penelope Yin was definitely the highlight of the SSA (the Rulawade fight, and personally executing <person> were the other highlights). When she flung out that lil sphere of doom, the whole battle went to hell for me I immediately knew I wanted that power (though, I doubt it'll come in melee... )

Oh, but they already charge for the expansions! WoW has a wonderful spot, where they charge to play, and they charge for the new expansions... and they have a bajillion players. Sure, their playerbase will slowly erode with time, but Blizzard continues to make a huge return on their investment.

I doubt the subscription-based MMOs will ever completely die out. They might fade a bit into the background, but they'll stick around. Soon enough the whole F2P market will become saturated (if it's not already), which'll leave a much smaller playing field for sub-based games.

Now would be a very bad time to be trying to push an MMO out on the market. In a few years, when the churn has died down some and expectations have dropped, the marketplace will probably be quite a bit more welcoming. Till then? Ouch.
  24. I'd say the problem with the MMO market is everyone and their mother rushed out to throw out some half-*** slapped together generic fantasy game. Of course a huge percentage are gonna fail! Even if they were actually good, the market is over saturated at this point, and you're going to have to slog your way through a huge pile of crap to get anywhere.

Paragon (and NCNC, and all prior names for the devs) have certainly done a good job keeping CoH afloat. Anyone that's familiar with NCSoft's history must know that they're not ones to keep unprofitable games around!
  25. I would imagine it's related to that other game getting a huge amount of information stolen.
