  1. Let's not forget that the villains we fight are super, too. I mean, how many people do you know of that can be Disemboweled, and the only visibal effect it has on them is that they fly up into the air, land on their backs. They get back up, and continue to attempt to burn you.

I can't tell you how many times I've been fighting foes, either on a Hero or a Villain, and thought to myself, "Man, these guys are TOUGH! I just shot that Hellion with 3 different arrows, and he just got madder!".

We stab, shoot, and burn them because it's the only way we can keep them from stabbing, shooting, and burning us.

I used to do that. Then, it suddenly stopped working for me. After I'd enter my log in info, I'd get an error. If it's working again, I might just go back to using that... >_>

    Mod08, you make me LOL!
  4. Congratulations on that first, shiney Fiddeh! Now, get to PL'ing us!

    I mean, Congratulations!
  5. Yup. Been happening to me too. That, and pets don't push anymore. I think the code got reversed...
  6. During a Citadel Task Force last night, one of the players was DC'd. When they logged back in, it said that his character, Panoptikon, had joined the team. However, the Team Window listed him as having the same name as the last person in the list, Electrica the Kin.

I took a screenshot, and then forgot about it until I saw this thread. I've cut out the important parts, where it shows he rejoined as Panoptikon, but showed up in the list as Electrica:

Once he zoned back into the mission, his name changed back to Panoptikon.
  7. I always slot my attacks with Acc, End, 3x Dmg, Rech. Even on /Regen or /WP characters. I tend to slaughter anything that moves, so I've found myself out of End even with Quick Recovery and Stamina both 3-slotted.
  8. You can add -maxinactivefps 5 to the command line if you wish, but I personally don't. Instead, I use the / command once I'm in game: /maxinactivefps 5

That way, I don't have to edit my shortcut every time I want to switch from playing single to dual or dual to single, or make a new shortcut, or what have you.

It also probably works best if you run in Windowed mode. Personally, I don't like Fullscreen, so I'm always in Windowed mode.

Finally, I don't remember if it's been mentioned or not, but in order to run two instances of the game on one compy, you need to run the patcher, and let it go all the way to the log in screen for the first account before you do it again. You can have as many instances of the game up as your compy can handle, but only one instance of the patcher.
  9. Ah, yes, The Infamous Seer Marino Waypoint Bug. It's so famous, it's IN-famous. After you finish a certain mission (I forget which one), the Waypoint for the next mission is broken. Instead of pointing you to the door to the next mission, it instead points you to the doors that lead into the small inside-building area where your last mission was. As soon as you go back in, it points to somewhere outside the doors. And it never stops.

This bug has been around for, well, probably longer than I've been playing, and I recently hit 42 months on Vet Rewards. There have been occasional threads about the bug, and probably /bugs and /petitions about it, but so far, we've seen nothing done. To my knowledge, no redname has even commented on it, though I may be wrong, as I've not read every thread about it.

I think that the reason the bug is still there is because they've never been able to isolate what part of the arc causes it. They've probably gone over the code for the arc, and are stumped. It's a resonable guess. And what I'm about to reveal might make it even more reasonable...

You see, the problem does not lie with Seer Marino's Oh, Wretched Man! Story Arc. At least, not directly. The blame is instead to be placed squarely on the shoulders of the room inside the building behind Arbiter Richard.

I discovered this quite by accident. I was playing a new character, and I decided to log him out in that room, as I found that it gives you credit for the Arachnos Agent Day Job. The character I logged out had just gotten the Clear Snakes Out Of Casino mission from Mongoose. When next I logged in, and exited the building, I discovered that instead of pointing to the Casino, the Waypoint was pointing right back into the building. Just like it does on Seer Marino's Arc.

This bug is actually easy to reproduce. I made a brand new Stalker, skipped the Tutorial and chose Kalinda as my starting contact. I got her first mission, Take Out Operative Burch. I then activated Hide, and ran to the far end of Mercy Island, to the elevators by Mongoose. I went up them, and headed towards the building behind Arbiter Richard. I went to my left as I was facing the building, and entered the doors there. Not the round black door with the Arachnos logo, but the four glass doors under the canopy just past that, and on my right. I turned around, and came right back out, and sure enough, even though the Waypoint marker on the mini-map was showing in the correct place, the little yellow arrow was pointing me right back to the doors.

Hopefully, after Arbiter Kim sees this, it will be passed on to the correct person, and fixed. At the least, they can probably just move the door for that mission in Seer Marino's Arc.
  10. Yeah, when I run two instances of CoH on my poor 5 year old machine, I turn the grafics down to minimum, and use a macro that does /maxinactivefps 5.

Ulli pretty much nailed the way to do it.

    *gives Ulli nailed cookies*
  11. Don't forget that while in PI, you can also run Radio Missions and PI Safeguards.

Good luck, and let us know when you get that 50!

  15. Firday was my biggest gain. I was in the game from 11 AM EST until 4 AM Saturday morning. The last 7 of those 17 hours were spent with Jack in the RWZ, getting levels and swapping characters.

I ended up with 53 Levels on my main account, and 36 on my second account, for a Grand Total of 89 Levels gained.

    Main Account
    Flarestar - Fire/Fire Tanker from 28-31.
    Neolith - SA/EM Tanker from 24-25.
    Bhrionnu - Fire/Dark Corruptor from 2-21.
    Skullshatter - WM/SR Brute from 2-19.
    Thunder Shokk - Energy/Energy Blapper from 28-30.
    Starwind - Illusion/Kin Controller from 21-22.
    Tripswitch - Bots/Traps MM from 4-14.

    Second Account
    Arell - Claws/SR Scrapper from 34-37.
Andine - Crab Spider from 28-29.
    Dusk Lilly - DM/Nin Stalker from 10-21.
    Hyperbaric - Ice/Earth Dominator from 14-19.
    Nytebound - Zombehs/Pain MM from 5-13.
    Dolmena - EM/SA Brute from 5-13.
Kheldarn - BS/WP Scrapper from 25-27, teaming with Pepsiman for a Citadel TF, the only TF I did the entire event. Pepsi almost ruined it by not dying, but then he died, and all was good. Of course, he was kind enough to let me have the first death... >_> Oh, and the Traditional Pre-Citadel Ambush didn't kill Pepsi this time... <_<

We need another Double XP Week!

  21. Interestingly, Acid Mortar will zone with you. I was on a small team last night, and the mission had a hot door. We team-wiped, went to the hosp, and resummoned pets and re-buffed. I accidently fired off my Acid Mortar when I went to click the door to enter the mission. When I loaded in, my Acid Mortar was there with me, firing and DeBuffing its little heart out.
