  1. And now the thread's title is censored for a fairly innocuous word. Funny enough, it still shows up uncensored in the title bar if you reply.

That leaves them at 0 end and greatly reduces incoming damage. I continue setting off those powers as soon as they are ready, and that keeps their end low.
Seconding this. Hitting 44 added a noticeable boost to my dark/elec/mu (with Tough) brute's survivability, since Ball Lightning is that last little nudge I need to regularly drain entire mobs of +2s. I also have my damage aura frankenslotted for a bit of end drain, which has helped a bit. Can stand up to just about anything I can come across solo on the 4th difficulty setting pretty well, so I'm mostly happy. Some Arachnos eat me for breakfast (Banes and Toxic Tarantulas), but on the other hand, I think it may be the only character I've had that has almost nothing to fear from Soldiers of Rularuu.

It's still not exactly a tank. I'd say my stone/EA actually did better at tanking for teams by this point, but then, that was mostly the stone/ talking, with a little help from Overload being the best damn tier 9 armor ever.
  3. Liora Kate eats the kitten, collar and all.

Aisha A. turns it into a robot kitten. With missiles.

Sorrow-Weave dangles the kitten over some kids' heads and teases them.

Jessica Reid gives it food. 'cuz cats are alright by her book.

Freelance Rose uses it to dispose of lab rats.

Discount Ninja praises it for its natural sneakiness and tucks a coupon for 50% of all shuriken expenses (Good this month only!) into its collar. Because people are suckers for kittens.
  4. I was wondering that too... seems to me that there can't be that many active ones. At about 61 months myself, so hey. I'm happy.

All mmorpgs aren't anything else than WASTE of peoples time. We play to have FUN, but fun doesn't mean allways that it's easy. Without ability achieve and accomplish something, why play at all.

It's not free innovation what's ruining the game, but the idea that everything has to be easy and fast. Easy and fast = bored players really fast = END of the game. Peaople don't play the game if they have no goals to accomplish. No-one likes to do same stuff over and over forever.
And the solution to this is making us spend half an hour jogging between missions?

  8. Count me as one more for the "I hate image signatures" camp. I'm here to read the forums, not to look at dozens of photoshopped pictures proclaiming how kewl people's characters are in between every single post. Give me a button to just disable image signatures and I'll be happy.

Don't like the color gradient posts at all, don't like the big image in the background, don't like either color scheme. Toning the darkness of both schemes down a bit seems like it would make them much less fatiguing to look at.

I'm desperately hoping for a View All button soon.

On the upside, multiquoting and an apparent end to the mysterious disappearing post problem when mods kick in!
  9. Had some trouble on Saturday on Virtue... I was running an ITF (second mission, not the hill of death) and my entire team spent about five minutes straight wavering in and out of mapservering. We'd get reconnected for about half a second every fifteen seconds or so, juuuuust enough to keep it from kicking us out to the login screen.

On the upside, I got a really good look at the Cyclops model.
  10. Sorrow-Weave - Dark/Elec Brute. From 38-46, through a combination of soloing arcs and two ITFs. I learned very quickly why /Elec is not considered a tank on the latter.
Blazeknight - Fire/Shield Scrapper. From 1-8 the old fashioned way.
Cobalt Bomb - Sonic/Rad Defender. From 1-12 the old fashioned way. Hollows were even involved.

I would've gotten my DB/Fire scrapper from 42 to 50, but I'm waiting on i16 to let me get mobs that actually merit her endless waves of AoEs.

It's like the devs had a quota for how long they needed the patron arcs to be, and Black Scorpion was running short, so they stacked one mission with a time waster. Even worse is the fact that Black Scorpion tends to fit most of my characters best out of the patrons, so it's either suck it up or wedge some other patron into their story.
Thirded. And not only do they have a sack of HP, but that one mission has like five of them. Anything that takes a full team multiple minutes to wear down but gives crap experience is bad.

Also on the note of patrons, the final mission from his second arc on anything but a character with good enddrain/recovery resistance. I had enough Mu on me through most of it to give my /elec brute some end problems. I'd hate to see how a character with lesser resistances would fare. Not to mention fighting Ice Mistral twice during it. Slow city!

A nothing/nothing/nothing, unless that stupid time bomb is replaced.

  18. So /signed that I can feel it. While we're at it, can we get rid of minimum level requirements for hazard zones so I can run a mission team heroside without running into 'ohhhh, sorry, the next mission's in Crey's Folly and you're too low to get into there' every other mission?
  19. [ QUOTE ]
My experience, on both Freedom and Virtue, has been that:
<ul type="square">[*]Nobody will settle for anything less than a 6 person team. They would rather stand around for another hour, if that's what it takes, than enter a mission door with fewer than 6.[*]If you persuade, say, a 3 person team or a 4 person team to enter the first mission, every single one of them will quit if you don't have a 6-8 person team by the time they finish the first mission ... and they expect you to carry your weight on the team while you're scrolling through the /search window and corresponding with 10 or 15 potential team recruits via simultaneous tells. There are people who can multi-task that well. I'm not one of them.[*]People care a great deal about XP efficiency, reward, and risk avoidance. They also resent 5 minutes of travel time more than they resent 45 minutes of standing around while the team leader recruits. As a result, it's possible to recruit a team for AE boss farms. It's possible to recruit a team to grind /newspaper and police radio missions, if (and only if) you promise to stick to Freakshow when you can get them, and Council as your only fallback. It's usually possible to recruit a team for task or strike forces. Zone story arcs? Double (at least) your expected time to recruit. Classic CoH story arcs, mayhems, safeguards, Ouroboros, street sweeping in hazard zones, anything in a PvP zone? Forget it, never going to happen, period, no matter how long you spend trying to recruit.[*]After doing at most 3 missions with a 6-8 person team, one person (not unreasonably, since it took us an hour to recruit) has to log off. Five other people will take this as an excuse to quit the team, themselves, because "obviously" the team is breaking up. At that point, my choices are two: take another hour to recruit more people, or give up and go back to soloing.[/list]
    [/ QUOTE ]

Matches my experience pretty well. That, plus that there are about 12 people total set to LFT at any point, so there are never nearly enough looking to put a team of the practically required 6+ size together in any given level range (this goes doubly when trying to do something wacky like put together a team in the RWZ, where sidekicks aren't much of an option thanks to it being a hazard zone.) I'll go through the whole global channels thing if I have missions and plan to run for hours or want to do a TF, but that's about it.

    Things change.

AceMace's avatar is better. It has whompings.

    Weakest Combo?

The only sets I've found that I've actually had trouble soloing were villains, so you're out of luck.

That said, Kin/Archery Defender might be worth a try. It's about the lowest mitigation combo I can think of off the top of my head. Of course, it'd be bestial past the point where it has Fulcrum Shift and Rain of Arrows, but getting there...

    Maybe Thermal/Archery come i16.

Posts like this make me just want to go to Atlas and spam 'THERE ARE LIKE A ZILLION OTHER ZONES IN THE GAME WITH STUFF TO KILL. PLEASE GO LOOK AT THEM IF YOU'VE NEVER SEEN ONE.' for a few hours a day.

I'm going to take this a few steps further. 150 Man Built in voice for Super Groups.

Meanwhile, if this got put in and it was actually used commonly, I'd probably resort to soloing and be a hermit. The built-in voice chat is like half the reason I don't have a DDO account.
