  1. And if they were, Nemesis probably had a hand in it.

Even if they weren't, it's probably Nemesis' fault.

    Dark: -9.375% tohit
Electric: Endurance Drain (less useful because the computer cheats)
Energy: Powerful damage mitigation through knockback
Ice: -25% recharge and movement speed
    Psy: -37.5% recharge
    Rad: -25% defense
    Sonic: -20% resist
    AR: -def, kb, etc
Dual Pistols: Selectable based on ammo (kb & -def, -dmg, -rchg)

Oh, did I mention that those can stack? So if you're a */dark defender, you can easily keep up 2 applications of your tohit debuff on a target or even a whole spawn (night fall + tentacles), reducing their tohit by 18.75%. That's almost as good as putting a DO-slotted Fortitude on the entire team! Hell, that's exactly as good as unenhanced Darkest Night.

Sonic's -20% res is like having an [Achilles' Heel: Chance for -Res] slotted in every single attack, except that it's guaranteed to go off rather than a 1 out of 5 chance. One hit from a /sonic attack increases everyone's damage by 20% in many cases and is about as good as putting Fort on the entire team. 2 hits is better than Fort.

Psy's -recharge is a huge damage mitigator. Everything except Archery has some useful effect, and Defenders get the best debuff values of any AT on their secondary.

Any defender who doesn't use their secondary and stands in the back twiddling their thumbs between buff cycles is a detriment to the team. I'm not saying you're one of those, as you implied that you do use them in between buffing, but I've seen too many who do exactly that.
Years later, these numbers still amaze me. Also, I could be wrong (It's probably been close to six years since I last played my empathy/elec defender) but if I remember right short circuit for Defenders also halts recovery. This makes completely draining them actually stop them from attacking.
  3. At the very least, Duray teleporting shouldn't broadcast to everyone.

I was there. I saw it happen.
  4. Enable free camera movement in options --> Controls
  5. I'd do it randomly, with a streak breaker that slowly increases the chance for a very rare or rare the longer you go without finding one.

Maybe, if participation must matter, have the amount it increases by be weighted by that. Either way, I'd make it so that you're guaranteed a very rare somehow without spending out the *** with inf.
  6. I think my first MM was /poison too.

Anyway, I hope poison trap gets completely revamped. It doesn't make sense to be laying down traps that dispense poison when it comes out of my face.

It'd be cool if Alkaloid had a stacking Heal over Time effect like the clockwork Menders have, on top of the initial heal that is already there. That'd make it unique compared to other heals players can use.

The two main debuffs should have some kind of aoe debuff. Even if it's not as strong as the debuff on your main target, although it'd be nice if it were.
  7. Do the demons from demon summoning explode immediately when using /traps' tier 9 power or is there a delay as with mercs and ninjas?

The server stops all recharge for the duration of the cutscene, but doesn't tell the client that it's going to do so.
  9. Barrier Core Epiphany has very good up time, although it's only about 5% def/res at the end that defense is just enough to let me solo a wing in the Lambda Sector sabotage phase as a crab spider.

I get the 10 threads reward at the end of the trial if I do run off alone to match the work of seven other people faster than they do, though...

Afterward, I noticed I misplaced my 15 odd something trip mines, and ran back to train him into them. As a result, he went running out right of Lambda and caused a fail.

The reaction from the full 16 man attempt? About 6 or so people heavy-raged, while everyone else was still laughing over the protest.

The leader, who commonly runs Lambda and B.A.F. on Virtue, @Dysc, promptly told the ragers to shut the hell up and stop raging over a game. One of those so-called 'elitist' promptly told everyone who was raging to shove it, while laughing his own head off at the scenario.

I did apologize for it, as it was an accident, but I was happy to know the majority of that Lambda attempt laughed it off and had a good time, and the vocal minority either got over it and joined in the laughter, or realized how stupid they were acting.

You know what would have been the result of that if I had done that on the industry leader? At least five guilds blacklisting me, and a whole lot of server rep tanking.

SURE AM GLAD WE CAN COMPARE CITY OF HEROES TO THAT GAME! DD

    Baka.
I was in a group earlier last night on Virtue with the leader telling people not to photobomb Marauder. Now I see why.

I wish I was there to see that.

I'm curious about how many people actually get into trials queuing just themselves.
I only end up waiting about two minutes on Virtue for each queue.

    Nice.

On both Lambda runs I've been on, we collected most or all of the grenades and acids, only to have a third of them mysteriiiiiously disappear because some people couldn't follow the repeated, simple instruction to check their trays and power windows for Pacificiation Grenades and Molecular Acid.
Happens every single time. :[ We'll get all 20 objectives, pat ourselves on the back on a job well done, then end up having to get two more containment chambers outside.
  15. I used to use ;drink and ;stunned on this MA/SR scrapper I once had, Tipsy Tempest.
  16. You're right to want the new powers outside the trials. I feel like a god among lesser men when I buff everyone with the barrier and blow up a group with ion judgement with a trial of praetorian clockwork behind me and someone asks wtf is going on because they've never seen any of it before.

Usually my coral sentinel is included with the list of things they've never seen before, though...
  17. I've been running at least 5 trials a day and I still think very rares aren't very realistic unless you're incredibly lucky.

Soloists can't get lucky, yeah, but they're still intended to be a far off reach goal.
  18. On the subject of the new currencies, I find the new system to be easier.

Look at the shards system, you're forced to traverse a tree of crafting components then crafting components into other components with shards just to get to the uncommon power and beyond.

I think there's the same type of system in place for threads, but I honestly haven't even looked at it. To get a very rare, you just need the very rare + some commons. To get a rare, you just need the rare salvage + some commons. To get an uncommon, you just need the uncommon salvage + some commons.

Commons are easy to get by breaking down the tons of astral merits you get (or in some people's cases, the tons of uncommon components you're getting from completing the trial

So whenever a reward table comes up with rare salvage, I just open the incarnate window and pick out what my next rare power is, then make some common salvage to throw on it. Much less of a pain than getting the alpha very rare with shards.

Some people are limiting themselves to an either or situation.

But yeah, that's them doing it to themselves.
  20. I don't think any channel does, except for the damage portion of reactive interface.

There is an obnoxious glow to show that it's working, though. For reactive, anyway.

He's mistaken that uncommon is the least, but out of 20 runs I've only gotten common once and uncommon the most often. So you got really unlucky twice =\

The difference between the trials and the LGTF is that the LGTF is played the same way as the other 95% of the game in which everyone sits in a warehouse pounding their fists while you go at your own leisurely pace with little chance of failing.
  23. In this base.

I've noticed that you can make alpha slot powers with the new currencies. The reward tables haven't been too kind to me though. The rares and very rares seem to be rare and very rare.
