  1. I'd still like to know what's going on.

If they're just having internet troubles, why not head somewhere and clean up the email backlog?

If something is wrong with the email, post a notice on the site saying so.

If something is wrong personally, do the same.

This is a great community that has helped each other along through many tough times.... but for any community to continue, there needs to be open communication.

As a fellow artist, I feel for Gill for any troubles he's going through. I have no doubt experienced some of the same (having to replace my monitor as i type this), but I think he owes it to his customers to say what's up.

Basically, Giil, we all hope you're doing ok... but try to stop by and tell everyone what's going on.
  2. This is the stuff artists are made of.

  3. Looks good, but his eyes seem a litle too low on the face.
  4. What would you guys think if I replaced the Smurfs with Inspector Gadget in the foreground?
  5. Ah yeah, I kind of figured it might be a tech thing.
  6. Well, that's means they're both ok (relatively speaking), so that's good to hear.

Wonder what's going on? Maybe some tech problems?
  7. Yeah, I'd love to see that.
  8. Anyone have some good screenies or some "tunrarounds" for him?
  9. Um, anyone know how Gill is doing? I haven't seen an update of late and wonder if he drown in some digital ink. lol

    Carnival King

    The Carnival King

Unlike most supervillains, The Carnival King has no super special powers. He is your average human, with one major exception, his IQ is 196.

He grew up in a circus where he deftly manipulated the performers and even the ring leader into signing the circus over to him. After that he outmaneuvered his rivals into financial ruin where he could easily buy them out. He conglomerated the circus industry until his was literally the "biggest show on Earth". But this was not enough.

With his true name tactfully erased years ago he became The Carnival King. Using his carnival as cover, he would travel from city to city robbing the poor morons blind, it was the perfect crime. All was going well until the Carnival of Shadows showed up and started The Circus War. When his best thieves, The Sidefreaks, were killed by them he retaliated viciously against the Carnival of Shadows. This of course drew a lot of attention to The Carnival King and his circus of thugs was run off the mainland by the Freedom Corps. to take refuge in the Rogue Isles, where he has begun to rebuild his troupe.

    I didn't kill the turtles.

The series in the 90's did that to them.

that's sweet, Juggertha! clean & tight. solid. I rather like that costume a lot.

Does anybody remember that other costume? not as nice as the one he has now, but it was kinda neat, too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I really like that old look.
  14. Thanks for the good words man.

Cherries 'n Cream by Manoa - A little too bland for my taste.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No offense to Juggertha (with whom I concur that Baisleac's costume was the best of the lot)...but I gave this a try 'cause the thread thus far has been pretty constructive thus far and generally, not only the negative was discussed, but also the positive aspects of a person's costume. Plus, if there was any negative, tips on sprucing up the costume were also provided. Unfortunately, I have no clue what to improve upon since the comment above provides nothing constructive to build off of. And to be a little frank, it kinda made me feel embarrassed for even giving it a go.

I personally feel that the full critiques is really what made this thread shine. They help people identify what works, what doesn't and the judge's rational for their decision. Without the full critiques, it just feels like another costume contest in Atlas.

First off, I want to offer my apologies. I have not been reading this thread from the start, and I think the vibe of it was lost on me. I approached this offer to judge solely as a competition. I simply jotted down what came to mind as a first impression, and gave my submission for who I thought should win.

If I would have paid better attention to this thread, I would have given a more constructive review.

    I should have.

    Instead, I simply judged.

I hope that my comments don't discourage you from further participation.
