Of course not. People still need to get from Talos to Atlas Park.

Really cool. Do you have a link to the artist? I like the movement and the little bit of decaying city on the bottom.

  4. By the way, the final answer on this is "It doesn't work".

On the plus side, I'm giving away the code on another forum so maybe CoX will get a new player out of it!
  5. This is why we can't have nice things
  6. Very impressive. Like the comic book feel of it
  7. Occasionally in the other forums, someone will say "You should check with your server's teaming/TF/whatever channel". Does Victory have any of these? I'd like to stay tapped in if they exist. Thanks!

This is pretty much exactly my answer. Used to play EQ and always did 1st person except for rare situations so I did the same in CoH. Eventually, I started pulling back a little bit and there's where I have it today. I can't see my character's feet but I can see most of them.

I find it disorienting to be fully pulled out or using a 3/4s view from above to the point where it hurts my reaction time more than it helps.

Of course they do and it's absurd to suggest that forcing everyone into random names would be a remotely viable option. And your comment about costumes reinforces what I said: Names and costumes are a requirement (to varying degrees). Power names are not. Even this thread has shown pretty lackluster support for the notion. Given the potential scope for abuse with 20+ powers per character and the lack of necessity for it, it's just not worth doing. Saying that "Well, they let us name characters" is an argument that just doesn't wash.
  10. I'd like to thank the NPCs for keeping Paragon City's office workers fit. Where other cities have buildings containing elevators that allow you to go from Floor 1 to Floor 5 just by pressing a button, the brilliant architects of Paragon City have made it so you must physically travel across every floor of the building to reach your uppermost destinations.

Speaking of architects, let's hear it for the brave men and women who built an AE building in a war zone while under constant heavy fire from aliens.
  11. My sonic blaster's mental blasts will be recolored to match the sonics. That might mean white or I might change them both to some other color.

The two don't really compare. For one thing (and the most obvious), the game HAS to allow you to select your own character name. They don't have to allow to name your own powers. In fact, for the minimal return on it, it's opening themselves to a whole lot of headaches for nothing. Combining with that reason is that each character represents one chance to break the naming filters. However, it represents... 20? 30? (how many power slots do we ultimately have anyway?) chances to break the filters through renaming powers.

So, yeah... the additional twenty-fold headache from a completely unnecessary thing like renaming powers is in fact a legitimately higher standard than character names.

You just need to find someone to open a portal for you, zone into it and get an explore badge inside the zone. Then you get your own permanent clicky portal power.

Scroll down to the bottom for details.

They probably don't (although they'd find it stupid).

I could easily come up with more offensive power names than PWNURMOM but why get myself modsmacked by proving how offensive I can be? Let your imagination run wild with things that could slip through the filter and let PWNURMOM serve as its placeholder.
  15. I think it was ImageShack smacked, actually. Trying to load up the Imageshack page it was on crashed out my Firefox... twice.

Also, no mod notes or anything and I can't imagine why it'd break any rules. Reloaded on Photobucket

Heh... soon as I typed this, it came back up on Imageshack and I had two of the same poster in my post.

That's really too bad. I can accept that floor length robe/gowns would cause problems with the animations but a loincloth style thing would allow you to approximate the look "close enough" in many cases. I'm not qualified to debate the lag issue but it's still a shame that I can't make a (pantless) female in anything other than the Ally McBeal miniskirt.
  18. On my Rad/Rad, I used my snipe a lot in the earlier levels just because Defender damage is so low and my snipe was the heaviest hitter. Like Twisted Toon said, I used to use it during combat as well (although the Rad debuffs made this easier to do without being interrupted).

I say "used to" because, once I got Cosmic Burst with its superior damage and much shorter activation time, Proton Volley became pretty useless to me except for pulling at range. I respec'd out of it by around level 30.

Pffftt... you have the rest of your life to spend with the kid. Get back to work!

    Just kidding, of course. Congratulations!
  21. For what it's worth, this seems to either not affect everyone or perhaps only affect codes through the online store. I received my GvE box yesterday and entered the code (and received the appropriate Pocket D VIP badge in game) without any problem.

Newegg.com has Good vs Evil for $9.99 with free shipping. Figure the free month and that's the goodies for negative $5.00.

Of course, you lose the immediate gratification factor that way.
