Stacking Serial Codes
They're not, and I found that out by clearing out my local Big Lots of COV boxes

Really? Maybe I'll give it a shot. Worst case, I'm out $6 and offering a free month of CoX to a friend.
Well I know I've applied CoHCE to basic CoH, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do the same with CoVCE, and I know I've heard of people doing it.

Collector Editions are called DVD

Right, I know that, but he's asking about the reverse. Already has collectors edition (like I did) and applying a regular (like I couldn't). Maybe I should go to Big Lots and see if there are any more and try again
Well, I definately did CoVCE last time since I got it for $9.95 and it came in the big box with seven HeroClix doo-dads and the art book, etc. The Big Lots offering is the old standard CoV box.
As an aside, Newegg has the Good v. Evil edition for $9.99 with free shipping in case anyone ever wanted the extra costume bits, etc. Same price as the NCSoft store for the "Goodies Only" pack but with a free month of game play (provided you haven't registered a GvE code yet)
I bought and applied the regular CoV code when it first came out.
Later, I applied the CoV-CE/DVD.
They can be stacked. If they couldn't, then it would be impossible for people to unlock the goodies in the CE that they paid for and there would have been hell to pay.

Now that I'm thinking about it, what about the regular CoH vs regular CoV editions? I'm really trying to figure out why I couldn't use a regular CoV on a couple of my accounts.
You can upgrade the CoH/CoV standard edition with the DVD edition, but you can't do it the other way around, adding the DVD edition first locks out the standard edition. At least thats what I was told the last time it came up and I noted I couldn't add the standard edition to my account that already had the DVD editions on it.

FWIW, I just opened up my account last month towards the end of my free trial. Started with the Mac edition, then added GvE, CoV Collector's, then CoH Collector's, I believe in that order. I assume I still have the Architect edition to go, and maybe the CoH original edition, though I'm questioning that based on what I'm reading here. Either way, they all have stacked fine, each giving an additional month tacked on to the expiration date of the previous period.

I don't know about doing it the other way around though. Like, what if you started with the CoV CE and later tried to apply the CoV code? I would assume it would work normally, but I can't say for sure since I've never done that.
By the way, the final answer on this is "It doesn't work".
On the plus side, I'm giving away the code on another forum so maybe CoX will get a new player out of it!
I know you can purchase and enter codes from the various expansions to gain the goodies and free months (even including the Mac edition code on the PC) but does anyone know if the CoV "basic" edition is stackable with the CoV Collector's Edition?
Probably not but, hey, CoV for $6 at Big Lots. Thought I'd ask
