This makes me and my computer sad.

    Merry Christmas!

Wishing all of you all joy and happiness in the coming year
  4. I was talking to Oathbound today and saying that I'd like it if Hero Studios can pull out a taskforce in the next couple of days. Maybe a Positron or Synapse since we still have a number of under-20s. I'd like to start Rose Veldt on the road to badges, temp powers and accolades!
  5. Merry Christmas to you, Suichiro, and to the rest of you all!

I'd have no issues with using a spare slot for a SG costume. I prefer to keep my primary costume options open. Some characters I can incorporate stuff into it, others are somewhat defined by their wardrobe. Rose Veldt wouldn't be Rose Veldt without her khaki safari gear and Lounge Crooner needs his lime green leisure suit.

But for special occasions? Sure, I'd be fine with using a slot for it. Part of having such a defined costume is that you don't really have much use for costume slots 2-5

People complaining about names being unavailable simply have insufficient imagination.

    End of argument.
Give me your list of character names. I want to pick a couple and you can replace them with "CghdTySWWWjfd vbW.gfhds1"

    Jewelry

    /signed as well

I'll go a little further and say that a bracelet option would be nice. Not the giant, three or four ring bracer looking thing we have now but maybe a single ring. Keep it filling the glove slot, just call is "Bracelet Small" or something.

But, back to the OP, I'd love a necklace that didn't look like I just robbed Mr. T. If it came with an assortment of pendants (perhaps like the cape clasps), that'd be seriously awesome but I'd settle for two or three non-industrial necklace options.

I'm sure the market is dropping out on them but I found candy canes to be a quick money maker. My lvl 4 character would run the BNY mission solo once or twice and walk out with 7-15 CCs that sold for 150-175k each. 2.5mil infamy will set you up with quite a few lvl 15 DOs.

Even at, say, 40-50k each you can easily make some seed money for your character in a short time.

That's because you never have a problem. Ever. To people who do have a problem, it's a "big deal".

I do pretty well with names. It's always a bit of a disappointment to find your first choice taken though. I will say the ability to check on a name BEFORE creating concept & costume was a huge step in the right direction.

RPGs are balanced around specializations in some areas and lack of skill in other areas, but at in least the ones that come down to killing things, wouldn't it make sense to give everyone the ability to kill things as a basic skill with a specialization on top of that?
Encouraged grouping. Where "encouraged" is somewhere on the spectrum between "hey, it'd be nice..." and "You won't make it out of the newbie zone without a full team" depending on the game.

One of the complaints I kept hearing about [that other game] was "Everyone's a tank-mage and can solo just about all the content. There's no reason to group and you might as well be playing a single player game."

Well, it goes beyond that. I don't think my wife wants to listen to CoH conversations all night long and I don't think it's fair to isolate myself from my family by wearing headphones (and I'd be talking anyway). Basically, for several reasons, the whole voice thing is kind of a non-starter for me.

It's cool. It's just like if everyone decided the best time to play was 2am-6am or something. My own situation doesn't fit with what everyone else is doing. No big deal.

Edit: I'll still be on 606 (no reason not to be) so if anyone is chattering there, you'll have an audience... heh

I don't have a mic or anything (and mentioned lag issues before) so I won't be using Vent/Skype/Whatever. It's pretty dead in the text based chat now so I'll probably be spending my time back on Victory. In all sincerity, I don't mean anything by that -- it'd be pretty ridiculous for me to expect everyone else to stop doing what they're doing on my account but I'm obviously behind the tech curve here

My SG on Victory did one teleporter to Atlas Park/Steel Canyon and the other to Founders Falls/Peregrine Island. Worked out really nice as you were never far from where you wanted to go.
  17. I personally don't give a dead rat about SG/VG bases. I'm mainly in it for the company. Starting fresh seems though the easiest way to avoid picking any one thing over another person's thing.

    Snow what if

Heck, Paragon City doesn't even need plow trucks.

"You there! Fire blaster! Go clear Oak Blvd! And you, fire tanker, go 'Flare on' or whatever and stand in the city hall parking lot."

I assume it'll shake itself out. If every time I'm on, there's people in the VG/SG saying "OMG It's Joph!! Come, team with us!!" then I'll be on Virtue fairly often. Otherwise, I'll be keeping in touch via global channel as I solo around Victory-Town. I suppose there's a possibility that I'd transfer a few more "main" characters to Virtue but the whole naming thing is my main barrier there. Tally-Ho ain't Tally-Ho without the Tally-Ho.

Worse case scenario, I have a few more people available to make comments to as I play. I tend to find damn near everything comment-worthy... just as a warning to everyone else (and as people probably learned last night).
  20. Looking forward to her (and kin's) return!
  21. I'm game to play blue side as well... we just need to get a blue side group together. The Lounge Crooner needs to find hobbies besides singing Air Supply covers in the winter lodge at Pocket D.

Well, a big part of the reason why I set upo the "Forum 606" global channel was so we could chat while playing on our native servers as well. Especially since, if things are slow (among us) on Virtue some evening, you don't need to feel like you'll miss out on anything by playing elsewhere while you wait.
  23. Looks good! Nice sense of motion (appropriate to a flying scene of course) in both the poses and use of color in the auras. Also a very nice job of copying the costume parts.
  24. Haha.. panda!

Looks great! Now you just need to get that puppy in the CoH DA group!
