Quote:I don't think I'll be on earlier than 8 Central. Gotta take the family out for dinner tonight and then run my cable. Maybe running it along the walls works in YOUR house, but my wife ain't gonna let that flyHess is a pretty quick TF. could squeeze that in before the Reichsman TF.

In fact, I can't even promise 8pm but I'll be trying for it. Don't let me stop you all from starting if I'm late. -
Bummer, man. But I'm always down for some TF action so if you're on at some point this weekend, I'll be game to thrown down a task force with ya.
I've still never done Eresto Hess and never finished a Statesman (we couldn't defeat Recluse). And never done any of the Shadow Shard TFs (clear your calendars!). -
Dr. Khan is one of my favorite TF's. People tend to like it or HATE it depending largely on how their final battle with Reichsman goes.
If you mean 6pm PST (8pm Central) tonight, I have my 50 Rad/Rad who can go along or my 47 TA/A Def. Provided my cable arrives today and I can get wired up and running in time.
Oh, and min level is 45 (46?). Since they'd be SSK'd to 49 anyway and there's no huge power boost between 46-50, I don't think we need all 50's.
Edit: WTH? When did I jump from 57 karma to 627? It was at 57 (two bubbles) this morning. I'm pretty awesome but I'm not THAT awesome, am I? -
What immediately jumped to mind was archery/fire blaster. Which isn't to say that's a sterling combination but that's what I thought.
Perhaps edit it to Energy/Fire with Energy tinted red as others suggested. Since finches are little birds, I see her (sorry, I can't see it as a male) as a blaster/defender -- staying out of the way of melee. Also, I don't "feel" sonic for her. Finches cheep, they don't make powerful cries

I have a slew of concept characters in my sig that (I think) are worth looking at. But one of my newest and my new informal "main" is Rose Veldt.

The ultimate name "smell test" should be to yell out "Quick! Get [name] on the phone!" or "Robbers at the bank? We need [name]!" and see if it sounds right. You don't want the mayor of Paragon City saying "Where's Skipjump Is Fun Giggles when you need her?"
Although typing this reminds me of my youth and attending equestrian events. Some joker always show-named his horse something like "I Wish I Was" or "If Only I Could Be" so the announcer would say "Now presenting number seven, I Wish I Was, owned and ridden by John Smith..."
In that vein, you should name yourself "Someone Better Than Me" or something like that. Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it, Mr. Mayor!

Quote:There's also bugs with difficulty scaling and some TF specific bugs. Do Paragon Protectors still spawn at lvl 50 or whatever it was in a Manticore? There was also the infamous "mission door in the sidewalk of an AE building" bug which is buckets of fun 65% of the way through a Task Force.I know some of the Task Forces are 'broken', but only in the sense that their writing and designing isn't as polished (as Positron admits about his own Task Force) as it could be.
But are you asking about bona fide bugs or just serious "issues"? -
Quote:I remember being on an Everquest forum around 2001-2002 and talking about whether or not Dark age of Camelot or Anarchy Online was going to pull people away... and someone said "I'm just waiting on this game" and linked an embryonic City of Heroes website. I think it was just a scrolling Flash banner on the top with various character concept art and a little bit of information underneath. And I thought "Wow, if they actually pull that off, that'll be awesome."I remember the days when this was just an idea, and I was really excited about the possibilities in it.
And it was awesome. Still is. -

Quote:Beyond "celebration", it's a measure of time in early Judaism. The pseudepigraphal book of Jubilees is an alternate telling of Genesis in 49 year periods. Two, it's a name not unlike what I'd expect to see on a comic book cover, and certainly not any more strange than, for instance, "Jubilee," which is a word I have still yet to see used in colloquial language AT ALL, and is a word that I, to this day, do not know the exact meaning of (not least of all because no-one ever uses it as a word).
I know nothing about the "real" comics Jubilee to make any connection between them though.

I always get a chuckle when it turns into "proving" all the awesome names left by saying "I just got 'Carnelian Mealworm' and 'Bumplejack Velvetnose'!"

I have a Corrupter named Liturgy and a Scrapper named Homily. Both were/are members of the Church but have taken less than holy paths. Homily is a nun who has become a vigilante, wielding a katana and bathed in "holy" fire which is either divine or perhaps a function of her (magical?) blade. Liturgy is a priest who tried to run a ministry on the Rogue Isles, turned to the Family when the church was going broke and then slipped into consuming greed as a result of the easy money. He's now an AR/DM who rationalizes his actions by the fact that he's taking from criminals to nominally support his ministry.
Both have met one another via Pocket D and they'll be my Going Rogue projects as Homily helps redeem Liturgy. Or as Liturgy corrupts Homily.
As someone else mentioned though, it's a shame they'll never really meet in game. -
Personally, I'd have gone for some combination of "dark" and "vision" for a blind character. Dusksight or Midnight Vision or something (I have no idea if those are available... if not, grab 'em!). Although, really, what makes you happy is the most important thing. A character with a "meh" name for me just doesn't get played.
When I transferred some characters to Virtue, my two previous "mains" both needed name alterations. Because I had established both in my mind with their "real" names (with artwork done of them and everything), I didn't want to just make up all new names for them. So Polish Princess became Polish-Princess and Tally-Ho became Tally Ho. (with period).
I haven't really played either of them since their name changes. The magic is gone. Although I thought of a great rad/rad name last night and might rename Polish Princess into it while we still have a week left of free transfers (*cough*name changes*cough*)
Oh, back to the point of this... a name that you like it the most important thing. However, this means that a person who really wanted "Ice Dude" has legitimate disappointment even if it's inevitable. -
I haven't been teaming much (or even playing much) lately because my lousy adapter keeps me rubberbanding like a [thing that rubberbands a lot] and that gets old real quick. Especially when you're fighting, then it pasuses, then you see the cascade of red numbers over your head as the mobs have been slapping you about for the last ten seconds.
However, last night I got sick of it and ordered 100 ft of CAT5e cable and informed my wife that I shall be poking a couple holes in the walls and running it through the attic. Hopefully a wired connection will solve my woes and, anyway, $16 worth of cable and an hour of my time is a cheaper solution than buying and trying more wireless adapters. -
Oil Slick: Well, when it lights. "Hey, you've been oil slicked and are falling all over the place! But wait... it gets worse!" *FHWOOOOMMP!*
They really need an animation for my character to casually toss a lit cigarette at my oil slicks for maximum awesome. -
Very sweet pic. I wouldn't have noticed the cape being "wrong" if you hadn't mentioned it (since I never use the bolero) so I wouldn't worry.
-
I missed the last piece you put up.
Faaaaaaaaannnnnnn-frickin-tastic! -
I was fighting Crey last night and laughing at how the guys would shoot at me once and then run up to pistol-whip me. Does Countess Crey only give these guys one bullet each?

Quote:I want a "cigarette" option for both males and female just as we already have a "cigar" option for males.Accessories? Yes please. I would love to be able to add jewelry to my toon's civillian clothes. Or hell even some of their hero outfits.
We have cigar smoking males and cigarette smoking NPCs of both genders so I don't see why my female characters can't have a smoke. -
Although, when CR said "a wood duck carving", I thought he meant a carving of... a wood duck

...so I was even more confused. -
I have probably made a dozen AR/Dev blasters and abandoned them all by level 8. Recently I made one and am at level 30 on her and still interested. I guess I just needed a character concept to click.
I've tried Controllers before but never got one past level six. The terrible damage led to brutally slow leveling while solo. I recently made one and pushed her to level 22 but soloing is still about as much fun as getting punched in the neck. So she only really comes out when I'm willing to actively seek out teams. Got her past the level six hump though! Maybe once she gets her pet, it'll be better (Earth/Storm).
