I'm going to plan on taking Rose Veldt unless we wind up with 7 blasters and a scrapper or something.
-
I missed the last one (although I did see & somewhat follow the thread) and would be interested.
-
I guess I must enjoy ranged characters because my three favorite characters are a blaster, controller and defender. There's an AoE aspect to each as well with them being AR/Dev, Earth/Storm and Rad/Rad respectively. I like seeing a huge swarm of guys and being able to lock 'em down or take 'em down from range with only one or two moves.
Never gotten a melee past level 24. I have some character concepts I'd love to play out but the actual slugfests just don't seem to grab me. -
Quote:I'd guess the Peter Principle is at work here. He (or those he hires) might be great as making small arms or more traditional weapon systems but out of his element when he tries to fill the void Stark left and create powersuits and super-micro-missiles. Unfortunately, the military wants a new Iron Man, not a new Humvee or rifle.I have to wonder just how he managed to build a large company, especially if his products are so seemingly unreliable.

My personal favorite was two Hellions sitting on a bus stop shelter and calling out to a passing civilian "Hey lady! Later on we're gonna steal your purse!"
The other day I was running through Talos and saw a Warrior beating on a Circle of Thorns guard guy with a baseball bat while the CoT plead for mercy. I figured that had to be a bug because everyone knows the Warriors are the ones constantly getting picked on in Talos -
Quote:I read an old Peanuts cartoon as a child in which Sally & Charlie Brown's parents tell them the same thing. Then I asked my mom and she said the same.Mine says the exact same thing - Proof that there is a conspiracy afoot to make kids feel guilty and beholden to their parental units!!
It's a conspiracy!
Happy Mother's Day to the moms! I just brought the wife back breakfast in bed with flowers and a card. Now she's munching on eggs & french toast, watching her chick movies. -
Quote:More significantly, SOE continues to put out major expansions for Everquest on an annual basis. Not stuff like our issues (I'm not complaining about our updates mind you, just comparing) but full blown expansions with ten new zones, whole new mob types, new spells, loot items, etc etc. Yes, they're paid expansions but the point is that the game still receives some notable attention from SOE because it still makes them enough money to be worth it.Everquest is nearing the 11, that's right 11, year mark. It's player base declined substantially when WoW came out and has never recovered.
However, like City of Heroes, Everquest has a loyal (smaller) player base and has been entrenched for the past 6 years refusing to let the game go completely into the quiet night.
Sony, a company with a not so stellar track record for treating MMO communities well, knows the Everquest name has this loyal fanbase and uses it to pitch new ideas and development. The game, long ago, paid for itself and has a development staff (currently) on par with (you guessed it) CoH. -
Never mind. Was responding to a Page 1 post.

Well, there's the whole "run away!" thing which has been hashed out.
I think it would be interesting to give a high level of taunt resistance to mobs with utility powers such as debuffs. Rather than rushing the tank, they could hold back more and just cycle through the team with holds, debuffs, etc. Just like PC controlled controllers and defenders (hopefully) don't just bum rush the biggest mob but hold back as the situation demands and selectively neutralize parts of the enemy group. -
The couple of times I've had Rose Veldt drawn, I sent along a photo reference of a sniper rifle similar to her in-game weapon. Partially because some artists don't seem to draw a lot of firearms/machines and might appreciate the reference and partially because, while I'm not real picky about the rifle details, I don't want her coming back with a double-barrel shotgun, AK-47 or cartoonesque elephant gun.

Both of those have been in for a good while. Sometimes you go to a stranded woman and get a small influence bonus instead like when you save a street victim. Usually it's an ambush though.
Sillier, you have Freakshow in Brickstown who'll lay on the street while his comrades ask him what's wrong and call for help. I've never seen that not be an ambush but they still laugh as though they tricked you.
The relic stealing Tsoo have been around for a while as well. I thought they were trying to steal a giant green gemstone. not a bag. Then again, I never looked too closely. -
Atta girl! And they love you!
I just need to get some money to start commissioning again some day. With a baby on the way, that may not be until you're all too famous for me to afford. -
Lounge Crooner already had a blue costume from the costume party TF. I can just re-use that one, right?
-
Moonfire's always good times. Nothing like mowing down giant piles of werewolves and vampires.
-
S... so... SOME?!?!?!
Good sir, every one of my characters is an example of finely crafted excellence!
-
We ran Reichsman as well. Was our first 606 TF.
I've never run a successful Statesman and would be interested in trying it.
Or run a LGTF and I'll take Rose and shout out "Earth for Humans!" every thirty seconds. -
Quote:Due to some dark wizardry or something, hitting the Print Screen key and trying to paste the results into an image program just gives me a black screen shot. This seems to only be a problem for people using Vista or Win7 and doesn't seem to affect everyone the same. Some people have found the Snipping tool to be a workaround. But how is the snipping tool diffrent from hitting print screen key and pasting it in an image program?
This is only for costume creator shots. I can take screen shots of the "real" game just fine which wind up in my game folder as usual. It's the shots of the costume creator or maybe the enhancement screen or whatever that have this problem.
And thanks for the help, helpers! -
Upgrading to a new computer with Win7 means I get the black-screen when I try to screenshot the costume creator. I know there's an inelegant work around to this but never paid attention before since I was using XP at the time. Share, please?
Yes, I totally used "screenshot" as a verb. -
In absence of a true model sheet (I don't have any), you can at least put something together showing your character from as many angles as possible and try to zoom in on important details (as especially complicated glove or weapon or whatever)
Tally-Ho
This still won't be as good as a real sheet (No one ever gets Tally's reticule right or adds her freckles at all) but it's better than a single screen shot. -
Safe travels and come back soon!
-
Not only that but, with enough jacks and lifts you can set it back up straight and salvage it. Evidence is in Faultline.

Victory is said to be the unofficial GLBT friendly server and in the time I spent there, I believe it. Nothing against the players, of course. Just a notable higher amount per capita of rainbow colored costumes or costumes with pink triangle logos and names like "American Pride" or "Pride Fighter", etc.

From the graphics options, you can turn off the advanced settings and put the slider back at "Quality" mode. At that point you can re-open the advanced settings and tweak them if you want (I like to turn off the depth of field effects).

Quote:Yeah, I had the same thought when I ran the arc on Rose Veldt but I realize that they based it around the spandex-clad self sacrificing "hero" and not bounty hunters, antiheroes or, in my case, big game hunters. They have to design arcs for the most common types of hero, rather than the more specialist types
But I was amused to discover that Evil Rose Veldt wears a bright pink hat. That's how you know she's evil -
Congratulations! I just upgraded myself from my old c.2003 Dell Dimension. It's a nice feeling to be able to turn up some settings
