  1. Yeah, back when (the original) Allakhazam sold the site to some other group, they changed it over to Zam.com.
  2. Makes sense. I wouldn't think they'd hand out free-permaflight or something.

Still, with no bank missions in Praetoria, a free 30-Day pack might be nice for your shiny new Loyalist/Resistance member.

Zam.com has an interview with Matt "Positron" Miller about Going Rogue. Not much new information in there (I was hoping for more endgame tidbits moving forwards from GR since that's Posi's bailiwick now) but you can post in the comments and get a free jetpack code. I have no idea what kind of jetpack it is (if it's a 30 day, what graphic, etc) or how many codes they have to give away but it takes minimal effort to get one.
  4. By the way, they have an interview posted now that you can respond to for free jetpack codes.

It was originally *the* Everquest site back when EQ was the 800lb gorilla of MMORPGs. Since then, it's branched into other MMORPGs such as FFXI and WoW and acquired various other properties such as data collectors and databases regarding the games it covers.

Short version is just that it's a big MMORPG site. They never really did City of Heroes with any focus because CoH's format doesn't really play into the whole "How do I complete this quest?" and "What swords would be an upgrade for my paladin?" sort of thing.
  6. Yeah, but I never enter the contests
  7. LOL... I entered but didn't even think about telling/not telling anyone. I figured Zam.com gets enough traffic that the odds aren't in my favor whether it's 1:40 or 1:80.

Supposedly, the frst couple days of drawings should be done but they have yet to post any winners for either of them so get yourself entered and maybe you'll get lucky. Zam.com has, in my limited experience, a bothersome time running contests by their own rules.
  8. Three or four. I also have a couple characters around lvl 6 who have been collecting job badges for the last however-many months and I want to flip sides with even if I don't re-roll them into Praetorians.

One or two of my new characters will be with the GR power sets (I never even prepurchased into DP or Demons) but I also have an older concept or two I just never put the time into starting. Exploring the new 1-20 content in GR will be a good chance to bring them up into the mid-game at least and see how I like them.
  9. The Vahzilok Plague

I think this arc gets skipped most of the time these days as it's a low level arc and you miss it plowing through the early levels via sewers and radios. But it was pretty unique for its time, still is pretty noteworthy and has an ending fight that, at lvl 10ish, was just plain awe-inspiring. It's a shame no one runs through this any longer.

Edit: I see Dr. Vahz is part of Posi v2.2 now but I stand by my suggestion
  10. JK, that combo of the leather pants with the fire pattern and those boots is just awesome. I'm totally stealing that some day for a character.
  11. I'd do a search for "Shark" in this screenshot forum thread (you can use the board search feature for it). I know there's several great shark-based costumes in there you can get inspiration from.

The most populated US servers are Freedom & Virtue although all the servers are a little slower right now due to the number of people in the closed beta for the upcoming game expansion.
  12. The bio for The Lounge Crooner has a lasting story arc built into it!

Her name was Lola. She was a showgirl.

But she was also a covert military agent looking for the right person. You see, Lola was working on an implantable aural frequency device which could convert sound into a tangible force, able to break through objects and knock men flat. But she needed the right wavelengths to properly condense and transform into a weapon.

When Lola heard Rodney "Starry" Knight singing at the Twin Pines in upstate New York, she knew she found her voice. Rodney agreed to the experiment after Lola promised him a permanent gig at the Atlas Park Geneva Hotel in Paragon City once the project was complete. But now Lola's missing, no one knows where she's gone and Rodney is going to need to find Lola and bring her home if he ever wants to make it big.

  14. I'd be fairly shocked if there were any notes for me to read.

You plot a poison gas attack in order to steal a mystical artifact.

Source: AE search set to "Rating = 4 stars, Length = M/L/VL, not voted, my level (23)".
Hey, that one's mine I'm guessing that was your feedback I got earlier in the week about it. Good to see it still getting the occasional play.

    AR/DEV. Why Not?

I always have a hoot on mine (lvl 50 now). I don't feel underpowered in groups and when I solo I enjoy the survivability of caltrops, beanbag, knockbacks, etc. And let's face it, DAKKA-DAKKA-DAKKA-DAKKA is just more fun than throwing ice or fire

Trip mines don't feel like they slow me down solo. I drop one by my feet, toss a handful of caltrops in front of it and open up the gunfire on the mobs. Anyone who make it past my caltrops gets blown up. Good times and not very time consuming.
  18. I don't get team invite messages all that often (once every other night maybe) and wind up accepting 50% of the time anyway. I can't think of a single cold request I've ever gotten for power leveling or money hand-outs or anything of that nature.

Seeing "Mo" in front of those means "Master Of..." which is a Task force setting where no one can die or use temp powers and you get a special badge if you succeed. So you'll see people calling for "Need 4 more for MoITF". Most Task/Strike forces don't have a "Masters Of" option.
  20. Windows 7 also has the Snipping Tool. What I did was pin it to the task bar and when I'm in the character select screen (or costume screen), hit the Windows key and then click the Snipping Tool. Frame around your character and save it.

The down side is, like the_fox_Rox said, catching an action shot out of the powers screen is more a question of luck than skill since sometimes the Tool works right away and sometimes it takes its sweet time.

    Hello

Works for me then. I meant to say if it was an accident now was the time to fix it.

    Welcome to Virtue!

Since he's only lvl 3, I don't know if you spelled Arctic wrong intentionally or accidentally but if it's the first one, now's the time to reroll and fix it.

If you're interested, there's a running (and sticked!) costume help thread in the Screenshots & Art forum.
