    I don't wonder at all.

My avatars have a lot more fun than I do. they tease me about it sometimes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same. Well, in most cases. I really wouldn't have enjoyed living my Night Widow's life (you'll find out in a month or two when I'm done with the comic book, or possibly graphic novel if I keep coming up with more things to include, I'm working on for her).
  2. Very very nice. The glow, and the lighting/shading, and the atmosphere, and the detail, and the form; all beautiful.

About that - you are unable to see any pieces listed as mature or adult unless you've registered, listed your age, and consented to the DA rules. I'm not so sure that being able to see stuff there when you're registered and of age is the way to judge that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The issue is not whether I want to see I choose to see it or not, nor whether it is allowed by DA's policies or not. The issue is if it is visible by clicking from these boards, and that is not permitted. I'm sorry if I am coming off hardcore about this, but that's the way of it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't want to argue about this because I'd obviously lose, but the only reason that it is visible by clicking one link from these boards is because that's how you have set up your own DA account. Are you saying that if you had an add-on to your browser that automatically looked for any link on a page with certain keywords and opened that link and that link contained NSFW material, it would get pulled? Even though that would be a very unique add-on that basically no one else would have. An average user who clicks a link in this forum while at work would most likely not have their log-in saved and would have to do multiple clicks if they really wanted to view NSFW material. And if people are logged in automatically at home and it's an issue of it being too easy for younglings to find inappropriate material, then that's why DA has the consent forms and such. It's really out of your collective hands. If a user chooses to have it take only one click, then that falls on them, not on you to enforce.
  4. Nice, has an ethereal quality to it.
  5. I like it. The energy and electric effects turned out really nice. The explosion seems out of place a bit (it's a bit too detailed and bright for being that far in the background, I think), but overall it's a solid composition and very well done.

I can't fathom it. I have a primitive mind, to me it's magic. That's a little piece of magic you made there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm familiar with Photoshop and have done a lot of photo-editing (look for UnstableFiend on worth1000.com if you want to see some stuff of mine)... That's still freaking magic, imo.

It reminds me of Van Gogh, except with more happy sun and less acute depression.

I dig the bright and shiny vibe!

    [/ QUOTE ]

So... it's just another manic Van Gogh? >.> Sorry, it fit the song so well, wonder how the rest of the song would go.

That aside, I agree, it's a nice piece with a real good vibe to it. Well done.

It's been said already, but never enough....

Amazing piece. Words can't describe the awesomeness.

Oh my goodness, that's wonderful! Thank you so much, Unstable! She looks fantastic. I *love* the pose and the angle. What a beautiful birthday surprise. *hug*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Glad you like it, and I admit it was enjoyable finding a reference picture for it lol

    Happy Birthday Shrike!

Not nearly as good as some other gift art being tossed around here but I felt like drawing and saw a cake so don't look a gift art in the mouth... or something.

    Crashed Out –
Simplistic design – very pulpish. The pics used in this composition don’t really show the scarred face well enough, so I can’t really comment on how it looks. Are you using a lighter shade on the goggle’s lenses? If not, you probably should. If so, you should probably go lighter.

    1st Place - Force Feedback
    2nd Place - Panzer Knight
    3rd Place - Crashed Out

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yay! My first placement. Looking at the shots, I think I actually used a darker color for the lenses but I agree that it should be changed. And I probably could've gotten a better angle to show off the face if I hadn't taken the screenshots around this time (being quarter to 5 in the morning).

Anyway, thanks for the critique and the bronze. And congrats to the others!

Looks like I missed a contest while I was home from school on break, so where's the new palette so I can get back into it?

Yeah, honestly, I thought they were all great costumes, and they could all be leaders in their own way.

I was also thinking maybe you don't need an active leader, but a leader like Professor Xavier. I mean, I'm not sure if there is a designated leader of the X-Men other than him, even though he's not usually in any battles.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeh, this is what I'm thinking now, I think it's a great idea

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like that idea too. And jumping back to what you quoted, the prof is the official leader and then Cyclops and Storm are the Blue and Gold team leaders (not sure which one's which anymore but yeah, they each have their sub-team). So you could do Star and Plasma as your mini-team leaders and then Loom as the main man.

I do apologize, but with that belt at that angle, it looks like those two are wearing tighty-whities.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At least you didn't say they remind you of Ace and Gary... Totally the wrong color scheme really, but the focus the belt puts on the crotch...
  14. I took the opportunity of using my own palette to remake a toon I made quite some time ago, Crashed Out. He's a fighter pilot who went down in his plane. After weeks went by with no sign of a search party, he used the parts of his plane to build robots for company. The bots proved to be good at killing things but not too good at being social. (I'd write more to explain his story fully, but I'm not really in a writing mood right now. Long story short, he crashed, built bots, went insane from them being his only company, got found, killed a bunch of soldiers, got jailed, etc.).

    and here's more screenshots:

    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

It's not the exact font since the real font is © NC. Just need to italicize it and it looks the same.

unstables work is nice..but no way id devote that much effort in it with bases supposedly being changed very soon

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hence why I'm waiting to finish it off. I did all that work back a couple months ago before I heard that base building is gonna get altered. I'm hoping that whatever they do will let my base stay as is and just add function though. If I have to redo all that (even with a better system in place to place things on the vertical axis) I'll be a bit upset to say the least.

Had reported last week on the test server that the Mini 2 and Mini 3 skirts have the slits on the front and back now instead of the sides so that the character's underwear is clearly visible. Checked today's update and sure enough now the same issue is happening on the live server. Don't know if there are any other clothes items this happens on. I have bugged it on both servers. FYI

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks for the report. We looked into it here and have not been able to reproduce it. PM me with the server and character name of a character affected by this and we'll try and track it down.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Niviene says it's fixed. Castle just wants to look up our female toons' skirts. I haven't actually checked test to see after the patch, but Niviene hasn't lied to me yet.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Ok last update on the skirt bug.
It looks like the patch that will hit the Training Room Server today does have a fix for this and once it passes QA will be pushed to the live servers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cool, and sorry for the threadjack. I actually hadn't logged on since the patch went live today so didn't realize that it made it to live. Here's hoping that the build going to test today passes soon.

Ok finished my newest creation and latest entry.

Ellette is a Mutant Plant/Kin Controller that loves stars.

Edited to add, it's a shame you can't see the differences in 2 of the greens or the purples in the pics.
I used all the colors I swear.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I see you made her on the test server (where all the skirts are put on sideways). It actually works out well for that pattern, but any idea when that's gonna get fixed? Mini3 really leaves nothing to the imagination as it is on test.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
You know what? That is absolutely stunning - by far the best example of magic desking I've seen lately. Which piece did you use, btw? It's seamless, no gaps at all, and that really attracts me to trying it - and what's more you actually attempted a parket flooring pattern which just adds to the brilliance. I'm unashamedly going to attempt the staircase to the loft/mezzanine if/when I ever get magic desking to work for me...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow. Thanks. The piece that I used to make the loft is the darker of the two small bookshelves. The light colored bookshelf doesn't piece together well, but the darker one has no gaps when placed together. Be prepared to spend a lot of time when you do try it. To make the stairs work properly, I had to use the floor-adjustment trick to get each tier at the right height. It didn't take nearly as long as the crew quarters since there wasn't nearly as many shelves being used, but it still took most of a day to get it done. Good luck to you and I hope to see your results if/when you get it working for you.
  22. Thanks. I like your loft too. My base is not nearly as decorated as yours, yours actually has an ambiance to it which mine lacks. Eventually I'll get there with mine but being the only one to be earning prestige for it, and only having 4 of my 15 toons on the server in the SG... makes it kinda hard to afford all the nice decorative stuff. One day I'll finish it off more and make it feel less sparse, but it is supposed to be reminiscent of a ship, so I guess the sparseness kinda works lol.
  23. My base isn't nearly as sexy as some of the others posted, but I did manage some nifty looking things (like the crew quarters and the loft) so I figured I'd share. The supergroup is made up of two of my friends and I, myself being the only one who still plays regularly and the only one who has earned more than 50k prestige. The supergroup and the characters in it are based off of a sea-faring DnD game that my one friend ran a few years ago. So, here's The Serpent Brothers' Base.

I used my drop mission to ding 50 with Ghost Widow. A bunch of friends showed up to share the moment with me. One of my fondest memories

    Ding!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very nice. I did something almost similar to ding my inv/ss tanker to 50. I picked up the Undefeated exploration badge in Atlas Park (was amazed that I didn't have it since I had grabbed almost every other explore badge with her throughout her long career). Admitedly, it's not nearly as bad--- as some of the other screenshots here, but I'm partial to it.
