Eh, looks like mostly bug fixes now that I look at it.
Beast Mastery
The Vicious Bite animation should now loop properly.
The reaction animation to claw swipe has been shortened.
Added flying animation for the Lion pet.
Wolf tails should no longer clip into their back when in combat ready stance.
The Dire Wolf should no longer change between low and high res models close to player character
Dire Wolf eye glows from "Tame Beasts" power is now customizable
Added lioness's wild charge animation
Call Ravens should now have more appropriate combat text.
Beast Mastery now appears in the correct placement in primary power set list.
Howler Wolf, Alpha Howler Wolf and Dire Wolf's Maiming Bite power now correctly generates Pack Mentality.
Call Hawk: This power now deals 5 ticks of damage over a very brief period of time to sync better with the hawk's talon swipes. To compensate for the damage over time, this power now deals slightly more damage. Also fixed a bug that caused this power to deal negative energy damage in PvP.
Summon Wolves: This power now correctly accepts Accurate To Hit Debuff IO sets, Defense Debuff IO sets,
Summon Dire Wolf: This power now correct accepts Accurate Defense Debuff IO sets, Defense Debuff IO sets and Defense Debuff enhancements.
Howler Wolf/Feral Charge: This power now correctly deals smashing damage, its short and long help have been updated to reflect this.
Pets affected by "Tame Beasts" now have glowing eye fx that are scaled as intended.
Attack, Follow, and Heel toggles should now be suppressed while travel powers such as Flying Carpet are active.
Dire Wolf now plays unique vocalization on summon
Effects that play on animals will now map to the front left paw instead of playing on the hips.
Macros created from dragging an advanced command from the pet UI to the tray will now function properly with pets with multiple names.
All Beast Mastery pets now play sounds when executing Wild Charge power
Call Swarm and Call Hawk should no longer display a brief debuff icon on the caster.
Summon Wolves: This power now accepts To Hit Debuff sets. -
Reppu did the buff that the Beast Mastery set just got help in any way?

What I mean is, if I run up to a group outside of their perception range and use Fearsome Stare as an opener, most of them can fire at me before trembling.
This is on a dominator with permadom, unlike your character.
I notice too that if I use Dark Grasp they sometimes can fire at me before the hold freezes them. -
Is Fearsome Stare and Dark Grasp supposed to let enemies get a shot off before you hit them with anything else?
A very long time ago I played with a dark defender and I don't recall hitting enemies with Fearsome and have tons of incoming fire come at me as a result. -
Yeah I am going with Pain Dom - can skip a lot so you can get the MM attacks, and still keep the pets alive most of the time.
-
I dunno - typically I end up spamming my st hold far more often than my cone immobilizes. I guess it makes no difference where you put it as long as you are using it all the time.

Quote:Yeah, which again, made it frustrating because I asked everyone in case I needed to explain stuff - since no one responded every time, I figured everyone had run these hundreds of times.Clearly, experiences in the iTrials vary enough that no one person's perspective represents a "norm". My experience, for instance, after running all the trials dozens of times on Virtue, is that the purple patch is a severe enough penalty that level shifts become absolutely necessary to success in the later trials. If someone has figured out a way to overcome the purple patch, then please let us all in on the secret (and no, "run with skilled players" is neither a secret nor a reliable strategy on all servers).
If most of these failed iTrials during the x2XP weekend were the fault of experienced players trying out new ATs/powersets that they were a little unfamiliar with (I say "a little" because after 50 levels spent with an AT/powerset, there is no such thing as "woefully unfamiliar"), then this dramatically demonstrates the potent effect of level shifts on success rates (because these players already knew exactly what to do in the trials, but still failed). However, if the high failure rate was the result of a rash of newbies with newly minted first-time 50s trying the iTrials for the first time, then it goes to show just how inadequately the standard 1-50 game prepares players for the structure, pacing, and cheap gimmicks of the iTrials.
In any event, this just proves what I think we already know: success in the iTrials go up dramatically according to two things: level shifts and familiarity with the peculiar mechanics of any given trial. General playing skill or experience seems to have minimal impact on success chances, at least compared to level shifts and trial-specific experience. -
Quote:Keep reading.... I do.Not really when the whole basis of the OP was a "i saw very little lvl shifted toons in the trials" which seems to suggest thats the reason of the failure rate
Nobody said cakewalk, if the OP had kept mentioning people lack of listening then i'ld be sympathetic, but since only mentions his + rest of leagues lack of lvl shift . . . . yeah no sympathy from me
Week after dbl xp weekend = week of care in high lvl TFs/Trials -
Yeah for my new dark/dark I like to layer the ST hold on certain targets.
-
Yeah, that's what is the most frustrating - people not listening.

Quote:Yeah, I don't think they will make that mistake again after the outcry.Well, good. No offense to you but we need more failures and more complaints about the original trio to add to the datamining so when someone comes up with the "brilliant" idea of Empyrean unlocks for new iPowers and locking out slot progress just because of an apparent higher success rate.

Quote:Congrats! That's me too. I have never had a level 50 Controller before, and was working on getting one there. I really wanted to go through all the 40-44 story arcs, and ended up doing that on DXP weekend. So I got to 44.9 and turned off XP after two arcs, and spent the rest of the weekend earning double Prestige.
I dinged 50 last night, though. -
Quote:Very true. I've relaxed a little after last night and ran some DA content to get my final emp for my first level shift.Sure I can see how it might be frustrating. But it's hardly surprising.
You have a combination of experienced players running newly-minted Incarnates which don't have the level shifts to play well regardless of the experience of the player playing them combined with a bunch of inexperienced players who probably just got their first Incarnates power-leveled over the weekend who don't know what they're doing yet.
Give it a week or two and everything will get back to normal. -
Quote:I'm over it after some sleep - I did some DA stuff and got the one last emp I needed to get my first level shift.Worst I have seen is 10 prisoner escapes in BAF. I guess I have just been lucky. I hit 50 on my first ever non-melee toon, a baster. So I was really scared that it was going to suck, was pretty happy that it didn't. Sorry you have been having a rough time of it man.

Quote:...the hell - did you even read what I wrote? This lol
I find it odd that the OP is complaining because iTrials are difficult for new 50s. That's rather the point - the trials are meant to be a challenge and if they are too much of a challenge you've a whole new zone to play in.
This is clearly somebody feeling over-entitled.
Just be glad many of us got new 50s to play with and enjoy -
Yeah, that's what made me take a break - we just needed to take down Maurauder's health - he had a quarter left - and I would have been 50+1 from it. bleh

Sigh...
Yesterday and today I can't tell you how many iTrials have failed. I am sooo frustrated at the constant failures of the easiest trials I had to quit and calm myself. I have maybe seen 6 level 53 players total across at least 10 trials. I too got a new level 50 out of the weekend so I contributed to this issue also.
I even led a few today, always asking if anyone on the league were new to them in case I needed to explain or direct things. Nope, not one person would speak up.
On a Keyes we had AM down to 61 health before the final phase. I think I probably said to stop hitting him at least 6 times. At least we beat it with 2 min left to spare.
On a Slambda we got Maurauder to a quarter health and people were still hitting the adds instead of him and we failed.
I was on 3 BAFs that had the AVs refill their lifebars during the final phase.
ARGH -
I took the immob mostly because of RoF, in case they try to run or wander out of it while stunned.
...but yeah I do what you do Blue. I have already spent near 800 mil on the build that is now in the 2nd post, so I think I will stick with what I have, then switch to the Basilisks and eventually get to purples. I am undecided on the Decimation - I already have permadom and have more attacks than I even use with the recharge I have as it is.
By the way, what kind of -tohit do you get out of Fearsome by using Cloud Senses?
EDIT: nvm, I see you get 16%~ -tohit. I wanted to know how long the +damage lasts for the ATO, anyone know? -
The instant you immobilize after fear, every single enemy should be shooting at you. This is my point - you need to use fear to get into Heart range. I am not one of those players who thinks defense softcap is everything because I need to be a god when solo and only use +4x8 settings.
I think that's why I find it odd - using immob before Heart means every enemy is going to hit me. -
Vigor gives the exact same end cost that Cardiac Radial does. Look at Vigor and see if it suits you better.
-
Acc is an issue for me because of how the set works - that is, it's odd.
You kinda have to lead with Fear to run in and use Heart, then jump back to use Living. If anything gets missed with the fear, I get hit, and have to hit everything with the single target hold and possess as quick as possible. The whole feel of the set will change once the beast attacks on it's own but anyways that's why I am kinda big on acc/to-hit. -
How is the acc/hold numbers on those though?
I just hit 50, btw.
