To echo some of the suggestions already made;

An Illusion/Thermal Controller or Illusion/Empathy Controller would be an excellent choice - pets, buffs/debuffs, heals, good times!

A Dark/Elec Defender would also be a decent choice - 2 pets, endurance (mana) drain, debuffs, heals, fun times!

Also - Robert_B is correct - Gravity Control is *so* much fun

The animation grows but I'm pretty sure the actual radius doesn't. Same with Dispersion Bubble / Sonic Dispersion.

If you think applying shields every 4 minutes is stressful, then stay away from /Rad (and /Dark, for that matter). Having you anchors killed is far more annoying than buffing a team.
