  1. Article on Massively mentioned two-handed melee powers, possibly with something akin to Fury or Defiance. (It also mentioned Team Inspirations, though that may have been speculation rather than reportage.)

I'm going to go out on limb: Duplication primary for MMs. Ever since Doppelganger tech was released, I've been of the opinion that it was either a spin-off from or proof-of-concept for Duplication.
  2. With the announcement of Time Manipulation for i21, can we *please* get some version of the Steampunk "Clock" belt ported over to Male and Huge models, so that it can take it's rightful place as the single most over-used costume piece in i21?

Might want to try a kilt, though you'll have to go with tights rather than pants beneath it.

This. I've found many of my chars have very different needs when soloing vs teaming vs leagueing. My long-term goal is to build up different Incarnate "builds" for the different situations. Different Destiny and Interface powers can produce very different results, and even switching between the Core and Radial lines for Judgement and Lore can change the way your character plays.
  5. Howdy all! Since a lot of my playtime is during US daytime/ EU primetime, I plan on rolling up some alts on Union. What are the popular channels for grouping and chatting?

Cite please? That's not the impression I've gotten from anything I've read.
  7. Does anyone know if level shifts have any effect when fighting level-less opponents such as GMs or Rikti-invasion enemies?
  8. I have a DM/Regen who I'm starting to look at IO builds for. Between Stam and Quick Recovery (and maybe Physical Perfection, too) I don't really need the extra End boost from Dark Consumption and was thinking of turning it into an an extra AOE attack. Any thoughts?
  9. Only Global Channel text is color-customizable. Hard-wired channels are non-changeable.

To alter the color for Globals, click (can never remember if it's right or left) on the channel name in a chat box and choose Set Color.

I suspect that right this moment, they want to do Sissy/Mantis because they know that they work.
  11. Made it to the Server Selection screen before getting the "No Access Allowed" message, as opposed to not getting past name/pw the first time I tried. Soon....
  12. Next week next week, as in APR 4-8, or some weird fiscal next week, meaning APR 11-15?

You know, just changing all of the "Recipe Drop" pop-up text to purple would be pretty easy...
  14. Hi Vix!

Regen is probably the hardest secondary to play; it's very reactive, and has number of click powers that you'll need to keep track of as well your attacks. WP is the easiest, it's all toggles and auto; just turn stuff on when you log in and start killing. I tend to stay away from SR and SD, because I really don't like clicky mez protection. Invuln, DA, FA and Elec fall in the middle, difficulty-wise. Invuln is tougher, FA and DA have extra offense and/or control, Elec has a damage aura and End management tools. DA also has arguably the best self-heal in the game, though it requires a to hit check.

DM is probably my favorite primary. Very good single target damage, faster and less bursty then BS. It's also got a self-heal/attack hybrid (Siphon Life) that goes right into your attack chain, an End Boost, and Soul Drain instead of Build-Up (less boost, longer duration).

Elec is not really any different on a scrapper than it is on a brute.

Katana is mainly a faster, weaker version of BS. If you liked the concept of Broadsword but it was too slow, Kat's a good set to try.

Claws is a good fast set, but if it was the gameplay of Spines that you didn't like (as opposed to the aesthetics) you may not like Claws, either.

Fire, Kin and Dual Blade I'm kinda of meh on. Nothing bad, but nothing that has really grabbed me yet either.

You might also want to check out some of the alternate animations for MA, to see if they appeal to you more.

Hope this helps, grab me in game if you have any questions
  15. They could also make the respec trials the WST, since they have red/blue equivalents.

More importantly, the fact that they only give two weeks is interesting. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Apr 19-25 will be Admiral Sutter/Mortimer Kal.

I realize you're probably looking for something with a wider variety of design choices, but an SoA can fill either of those descriptions.
  17. And scrappers all have the ultimate taunt anyway: Damage. My DM/SD frequently steals aggro form tanks without trying, I don't expect it to be an issue here.

One thing did jump out at me looking quickly at these guides - Lambda is listed as more difficult than the BAF? My impression was that the BAF was more difficult, though my runs thru both were some of the first runs when they became available in the sneak peaks. What are everyone's thought about the comparative difficulty of the two Trials?
  18. Thanks for the ideas everyone! After a couple of choices already being in use, and some thesaurus lookups, I'm now the proud owner of Captain Steadfast!
  19. I was re-reading Kingdom Come recently, and decided I wanted to make a Captain Marvel-esque character. After thinking about different AT/powerset combos, I decide that I would take an existing (formerly villainous) SS/Inv brute and re-spec him into Mu for APP/PPP.

For a costume, I started by just seeing how close I could come to simply re-rcrating the comic book look. Turns out, you can get really, really, generic-baitingly close. I changed around the colors some, made some other minor changes, and ended up with something I like. Don't have a pic to post, but it's essentially Captain Marvel with dark grey tights, red lightning emblem and red highlights/accessories.

What I don't have is a name. When the costume was mainly red, I considered Queso Rojo, but that doesn't really fit any more. Other ideas have been Red/Crimson Avatar, The Wizard's Choice/Champion, and Captain Something, though I'm at a loss at just what that Something should be.

So, fellow players, I come to you looking for ideas. What do you think he should be named, or simply what thematic ideas might be worth pursuing to come up with an idea?

Now *that* is an intriguing quote.
  21. My main concern is having some way to easily monitor both AV's health. I haven't done the TMTF, but am under the impression there is a pop-up display showing both Bobcat and Neuron's HP simultaneously. If something like that is implemented here, I don't think coordination will be that big an issue.

Edit - re: griefing the final battle. I think it would be hard. Someone would have to be able to dish out significantly more damage than any other character on the raid in order to have a real chance at unbalancing things. I'm picturing the battle unfolding with a raid leader monitoring both AVs health, and calling out for individual players to switch targets in order to keep things balanced. If both AVs are being damaged at similar rates, then it should be hard to kill one of them without the other being close to death. My biggest concern in coordinating is if Siege has that big self-heal that he has in the new Maria Jenkins one-off mission. That could throw things off at the last minute.

10 Second windows for PUGs could be a bit much. On the bright side, if the large groups can split off evenly, whatever health is left on the other could be overcome pretty quickly with 14 players.
It sounds like the first stage is an assault on the guards. As long as the load-in area is aggro free, groups should have a chance to organize there before starting. If there's an over all timer of any sort that may put some pressure on them, but i don't think we're just going tobe dropped directly into combat with a group of strangers.

Guess we'll know for sure in about 1/2 an hour

Judging by the time on the OP, they got it fixed by waiting for the servers to come up after the hotfix.

No idea what's going on right now, though Avatea had mentioned the possibility of weather-related issues coming up.
  24. I was running an STF last night (01 FEB) with my DM/SD scrapper, Isandlwana. During the patron fight my cable went out due to ice damage on the lines, and service wasn't restored until a few minutes ago. The disconnect also happened just after I had died, so it may have seemed like I quit in a fit of pique; it was purely tech issues, though. I want to apologize to everyone else on the team; I hope you were able to complete the TF successfully.
