Slotting Dark Consumption for damage
I have a DM/Regen who I'm starting to look at IO builds for. Between Stam and Quick Recovery (and maybe Physical Perfection, too) I don't really need the extra End boost from Dark Consumption and was thinking of turning it into an an extra AOE attack. Any thoughts?

In which case my first choice would be to slot for 5 or 6 piece Obliteration if you have the slots.
You want the recharge for sure, and you could also do well with the +Melee Defense.
I would slot Soul Drain that way as well, personally.
If you don't have a better power to take, Dark Consumption makes a decent set mule for PBAOE sets. Did you look into Epic or Ancillary pool powers? Most of those pools have an AoE attack.
Dark Consumption can be a decent AoE attack on a brute rolling with full fury. With a scrapper, not so much. With a capped Soul Drain and full fury, Dark Consumption does around 180 damage, and not very frequently at that. Scrappers only have the benefit of Soul Drain there, unless you want to eat a bunch of reds before you use it.
Set mule and look for AoE elsewhere would be my suggestion. You can still use it for AoE if you set mule it, because the sets you'll be muling are, after all, damage sets, but it won't be as effective as you might think.

I don't even have Dark Consumption on my DM/SR Scrapper. I don't need it for endurance and I consider the AoE weak enough for the power not to be worth taking.
