Quote:Thanks Gate,
That usually works, but Hami has been known to spawn after only a few DE's are killed. Well, I'll be on a tank, so I guess I'll bring my own.
Has Exalted settled on a preferred strategy?
The strategy I'm most familiar with:
6 tanks (on same team, along with a couple of support toons) stand around Hami's perimeter outside of aggro range and choose a Yellow Mito to taunt.
When the signal is given, these six move into range and begin taunting their assigned Yellow. Simultaneously, a stoner (usually with a pocket Emp) moves into the goo and begins taunting Hami.
Once all tanks have secured aggro, meleers move in and start taking down Yellows, one at a time. And rangers start taking down Blues, one at a time.
When a Yellow is killed, it's associated tank begins taunting the nearest Blue.
When all of the Yellow and Blues are killed, Controllers (and other hold specialists) begin stacking holds on one Green at a time, while everyone else kills the Green.
Once all the Greens are down, everyone dogpiles on Hami until told to gtfo by Raid Leader who is monitoring Hami's HP's. 75% of the raiders ignore the Raid Leader and are killed when the Mitos bloom.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
We have a regular Sat night raid and are very familiar with the strategy. If you would like to help out we usually gather in the Hive around 9:15 to sort out team leads.
and we use the evacless strategy. -

For those interested I've been running a Nightly Keyes Trial at 10:30est.
I usually start forming up around 10:15 in RWZ. We've also been mixing in an UG after if folks are interested. Anyone is welcome, just keep an eye on the major Global channels for announcements. -
Quote:Even better, use the same f/f blaster in DA. Where the mobs are closer together and VERY weak to fire.Fire/fire blaster build up+Aim fireball in boomtown. All minions in the spawn were toast, and they were gone before a luit/boss could react. Move on to next spawn. Why spend the 150 infl on purple insps if you dont need to.
Keep in mind as well, this is boomtown, no stores handy, no combining, no emailing them to yourself. Different game back then. -
lots of people have access to /auctionhouse. makes it much easier to dump salvage onto the market between missions.

It seems the bug is back where the yellow agro team is not always receiving the Reward Table at the completion of a Hamidon Raid. They were told they did not contribute enough to the raid to receive one, despite all getting hit credit on hami following the 2nd and 3rd bloom. All were inside the Goo when hami died and even the Dom we put there for overflow and did not receive a table choice.
I thought this was fixed a while ago. Can anyone else report this occuring since the latest patch? Also is it possible for the Devs to please define what is bugging. I am hearing from CS that it is currently working as intended. -
Quote:I am saying that by nerfing the AE farm maps they allow people to achieve a similar rate of XP gain ONLY IF they pay them extra money. Its Basic Pay2Win. Lots of people want to PL to 50 as fast as they can. The devs are just not being shy about making an extra few bucks on the journey. While I agree that the devs see us all as $ signs now, and while I think selling reward boosters for real money is just ridiculous, I gotta say your comparison of xp boosters to pling is apples to oranges.
The xp boost (and particularly the short amount of relative time it applies to the character) does not even begin to compare to even just one run of a "good" farm. You can walk away from an afternoon of farming with a couple dozen levels. The percentage boost you get from an xp booster is laughable in comparison. Now if you used the xp booster to farm then yes I see the argument but you are implying that playing the game the "proper way" with an xp booster is even remotely similar to pling in a farm - and that claim just does not have an ounce of merit.
And yes. I am saying that by removing the "farms" and adding the Booster the devs are now offering their own version of Pay for PL. It may suck but that's what they are doing.
Anyone who uses an XP booster on anything but a farm is pretty much throwing money away because of the amount of time spent traveling between missions.
Only way this not a money grab is IF they disable XP boosters in AE AND nerf the XP on the Live farms. -
The devs don't really care about how fast your earn rewards. They care that you aren't buying the booster to do it.

Quote:tell him you don't have enough reward points to play with IOsSeriously? You've got to hide this thread. My husband has been pressuring me to downgrade from VIP and this thread gives him all the ammunition he needs to say "just go Premium and be done with it." Neither one of us is a big fan of Incarnates but if he finds out that premium includes the base game for free minus incarnates and AE (which we never touch) I'm screwed!
-
So they are might be adding "Rares" to the store at the same time they nerf the iTrial method of earning them in game. Interesting.
Nerfing PLing while adding purchasable XP boosters. Interesting.
I wonder what these trends say about the direction this game is going. -
What about the idea of doing a monthly EU raid earlier in the day?
-
Go Cardiac. SJ is very thirsty and only gets worse with high recharge. You have enough recharge to run the 3 builder+finish chains. I originally went spiritual but found it to much effort and time managing end. Swapped to cardiac and its been night and day. With the 3 builder+finish chains and some practice with the odd TAOE I find I don't mind the few extra seconds on Shield Charge.

Plant/Kin
Rad/Fire Def or Corr
Fort
DM/SD Scrap (Fire/Street) would work to -
yes, SG mate is having the same issue with her Inv/SJ
-
I'd like to run Hami a little earlier, even it it means changing the day. It give us the option of doing 2-3 rounds to max rewards.

BOTH methods work. Its just about your team make up. If your heavy on control and AOE the doors are easier. If your not the choke points are. I think its important for people to know and understand how both work. If your leading the league it is your responsibility to decide which method will work best.
I prefer a blend. Let those who can solo a door. Put the rest of the control and aoe at the choke points and let the single target heavy people roam the paths. This generally works unless the team is overloaded with lvl 50's instead of 50+.
The number of people with Level shifts if the real determinate of prisoner phase success. The more damage each person can do and the number of pets available to help the better. If you have 15 lvl 50's on a 24 man BAF your not helping your odds. Just recognize whats going to happen, modify your tactics for your team and pray people do what they are supposed to do. -

Quote:No, it wasn't you. I expect a little bit from any trial leader working with a new group of people. On this particular Lam the leader called for the guns after the street. No problem, its how I do it as well. When the "group" ignored him and went through the door and started clearing the mob he started yelling about leaving the door shut. It was a downhill slide from there.
I can't help but wonder if that was me (Frank Horrigan) in my defense, I have yet to lead a failed trial, even with no incarnate powers on the league whatsoever. CG to all of you new folk!
with that said, I give people ample time to interject their own strategies (and even ask for them) and as you say - lots of captains in the same boat. There should be one captain (the LEADER) and you should do it his way, if you disagree, mention it to him but do not interject other strategies or commands, contrary to the leader's wish, as things are happening. This leads to simply confusing people, which is never good. With that said if something he plans is obviously going to fail, and you notice that it is, go ahead and correct the issue you see personally. If, however, everybody attempts to lead on a trial with 3 actual incarnates, it's going to fail, and thus has been in my experience. -
I've seen a few different things that have frustrated me.
First, there are some people who just refuse to try something a new way. Lots of captains all in the same boat.
Second there are others who insist that their way is the ONLY way and screw anything else. I had one of my worst experiences ever on a trial when the Leader started attacking the league for not following his direction to the letter. He really showed his !@# to everyone in the league and I doubt most of us will ever choose to follow him anywhere ever again.
Last was an experience with one of the main channel Operators. I didn't even know who he was at the time but he thought it would just be so funny to come offer me a trade, stack 10 hamis in the window and ask if I would hold them while he alted. I said sure no problem. Then he canceled the trade and proceeded to mock me and brag about how his HO's were worth 6 Billion inf. I just laughed at him and gave him a one star. I was shocked when I joined one of the big server channels and saw that he had set the MOTD. People like that, who act like that, will give this server a bad rap very quickly.
If I had been a new player those two negative experiences would have really turned me off to this server. Fortunately I'd already found plenty of other folks here who are nice as could be.
I do like that the PL and market spam is being nipped in the bud quickly in the global channels. Nothings worse than putting together a TF around PL beggers. -
Dev didn't protect the AE then. They won't now. What about all those people who do nothing but 1 star farms to get them off the front page? What about those authors and the story they want to tell about how to level quickly? Trash or Treasure is not for the devs to decide. I say bring back the Comm officers and charge $10 for an AE permit. That should bring in the $$$$ from the Free2Play folks.
