Anyone else wondering what the "Familiar Threat" is that the Midnighters are rallying the troops for?

Flying Spagetti Monster please no CoT, Nemisis or Rikti.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It's going to be Rikti.

Now i am 85% sure that the Villan EAT's are the reason why villains are "lacking" in the content this issue (and if you are gonna say that Wolf Spiders and Blood Widows shouldn't take that much time name 20+ powers that each have) and I expect more for villains hopefully in i13 or i14.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, you have to remember that the VEATs weren't even supposed to be in this issue. They were planned for i13, and only made it in because of an unexpected budget windfall.

Which would have left even less for villains in i12.

You guys live on a series of islands. Unless one suddenly springs up out of the ocean you are SOL.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Incorrect about the need for a new island. There are plenty of unused places on the map of the Etoile Islands where a new zone could be placed. In fact, villains have received one such zone already, in the Abyss. It's a pity it was ill-conceived, poorly thought out, and ultimately wasted effort, but it proves that additional zones can be done.

And, even if a new island were necessary, this is a world of superpowers, ultra technology, and magic. There is nothing to say that additional islands couldn't be simply created by one of the various insanely powerful groups inhabiting the CoX universe.

I have a theory. I'm going to register it here, just in case I'm correct, so that I may trumpet my triumph later on.

Others have mentioned the hope that the Hami raids go away when Statesman's Task Force hits.

Positron mentions "Heroes and Villains banding against a common foe"

Hamidon is certainly the power center of the Devouring Earth ...

And I don't think anyone would argue that he's not a "common foe"

    I'm seeing a magnificent possibility here ...

God in heaven, not Hero/Villain Hami raids ... but maybe something ... better? Maybe Hamidon ... changes? In a big, spectacular, story-filled way?

    Hmmmmmmmmm.

Edit: Or ... maybe I'm not the first. But ... it's a nifty idea.

That'll teach me to post predictions before reading the whole thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My money's on this. Though I would not at all be surprised if the Hamidon died or was otherwise removed permanently from direct interaction.

    Rack: Compleate!

    Astounding. Another great work.
  8. These just keep getting better and better.

We appreciate you sharing all your art, TA, the serious and the silly.

And again, AoT-ette will teach you to keep your hands to yourself.
  9. Phenominal work. Absolutely superb.

Now, as for what the Imperial is looking at, I'll leave that one up to the viewers to decide for themselves. I like wonder, and if I were to just up and say definitively, well, that would just take all the wonder out of it

Fair enough Once again, absolutely phenominal work.
  11. Very impressive.

I'm curious about the portrait of the woman, namely, is it a representation of what he's looking at in the open locket? Or am I reading too much into it?
  12. Glad to see you open for business again. I'll PM again right now.
  13. Sorry, still not good enough. When any Blue sider who wants to can routinely hit me through well slotted toggles AND Overload, then something's wrong with Defense and/or the Hero side To-Hit. I might as well save myself the end and not run any toggles for all the good they do me.
  14. From what I understand, it looks similar to Temp Invuln, with the patron's glowing symbol superimposed and fading in and out.

I believe there's a screenshot of Shark Skin from Mako's set over in that thread.
  15. This was the jist of a comment I made, I believe, in the AV/GM changes thread. Basically, if it is the developer's intention to make AV/Hero level mobs unsoloable, then why is it even possible for them to appear in a solo mission?

I -liked- the idea that I could take on a Hero level entity and though tactics, inspirations, luck and brute strength have a hope of walking away victorious. If that's no longer going to be the case, then why should I even bother? I don't play to feel like some second rate minion. I play to feel like a Super.

I'm not even asking to solo Statesman or Recluse here. I consider them (and their various otherdimensional incarnations) to be, well, godlike. But when Mailaise or Numina or some other 2nd/3rd stringer shows up, they should not be able to use me like tissue.

Frankly, I think that hero/av level mobs as they currently stand on Test are actually broken. There are too many reports of individuals and even teams saying that they were simply unable to harm the mob, regardless of what they did. Added to that, a significant number of folks have said that even when they were able to harm the mob, at 25% they turn on some kind of godmode power and become untouchable while they regen to full (ie Mako and Positron).

We'll just have to see what they have to say about these things, should we ever get any sort of public response.

So... get vent, roll a corruptor, team with other corrupters and a dominator = win RV. Gotcha.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's pretty much what I'm getting out of this as well. If you aren't a corrupter or dominator don't bother showing up to RV.
