If by 'vigilante' you mean 'run by a vigilante to become a villain', yes.
My brother wanted to get the Scorpion Shield for one of his characters and this was in the last batch of alignment missions to turn villain. -
Cardiac is ideal for END issues. I have Cardiac on my stone tank and it serves a dual purpose. When he's NOT using Granite, his massive recharge causes END issues and Cardiac solves that. When he IS using Granite, the extra resistance lets him hit the cap for all damage types (except psi).
On my invuln, he was already built for +regen and didn't have any END issues, so I went with Spiritual. It buffs Dull Pain and Aid Self significantly, plus gives him some extra regen from Health and Physical Perfection. I may end up revisiting him, though, since this was back when we only had 4 Alphas to choose from. -
Quote:That could be confusing. In some games, a 'damage shield' is an aura around you that harms the enemy when they hit you.Just for comparison purposes, most other games that use what CoX is calling Aborb call it a "damage shield".
That's what I would have called it, particularly since it's 'outside' of your damage resistance. -
The ATO's are awfully cheap to be using catalysts on. I've only slotted full sets on 3 or 4 different AT's so far, but don't recall any pieces being over 20 million. (To be fair, I bought a lot of super packs so about half my ATO's were not bought from the consignment house.)
I use the catalysts when I get a purple or PvP recipe that isn't worth a ton. -
Doesn't really sound like a bug. The pool version of the power is inferior to the powerset version. Sounds right.

Had another amusing experience. No screenshot for this one.
In the 4th Signature arc (I think it's the 4th, the one with the Dirge of Chaos and Johnny Sonata), part of it is supposed to go like this:
1) Rescue Mercedes Sheldon.
2) Menace Johnny Sonata.
3) Beat up the lackeys he summons, including Hardcase.
4) Beat up Johnny. Once he reaches a certain hit point level, he starts conning as an ally.
5) Talk to him.
Everything in that process worked fine, but with a slight twist. At the moment that he switched to an ally, he happened to be confused. He then proceeded to kill Mercedes Sheldon, who could not fight back. Apparently he had some longstanding grudge.
I didn't report this as a bug since it has no negative impact on the progress of the arc.... and it was funny. -
I'm afraid I'm going to have to write you a ticket, Mr. Hightower.

Quote:They don't mean "monsters" literally. Enemy NPC's can have the power Taunt. I think even MINIONS can have it (lieutenants for sure). What were your settings on that was getting you 5 or 6 Monsters at once?
From the patch notes:
"Monsters are now allowed to taunt players. Taunts from monsters will affect players in the same ways that taunts from players do."
Why would anyone run into range of that many Monsters when they are solo? -
-
Bad example. The patches appear where the PLAYERS are located and have nothing to do with the AV. If you have an all-range team, the patches will still appear around the players and force them to run. If your team happens to all be clustered around Battle Maiden, then yeah, that's where the affect appears.

Quote:Okay. Now I gotta plot out a schedule, because now this seems more possible than I'd initially considered it.Quote:Indeed, I have four toons I regularly run through this every week.
I use an Excel spreadsheet to track which arcs each character has run (since you get one 'free run' of each arc that doesn't count against the reward timer) and then to track the timer once they've done their 'free runs'.
Quote:Alright, one last question- a friend of mine sent me a link awhile ago, and I never got around to reading the entire thing, but the jist of it seemed to suggest that getting level 50 IOs wasn't necessary, and that one could get nearly the same effect with level 30 IOs, with the added benefit being that you could exemplar much lower.
I slot IO's on all my characters around level 33-35 and also stockpile the ones I expect to need the rest of the way to 50. No more having to replace all your enhancements every few levels! One patch of work at around level 32 and I'm done for that toon. -

- Montague Castanella in Steele Canyon (lvl 10+) ----- Midnighter's Arc
VITAL arc. This is the only way to get access to the Midnighter Club, which gives you access to Cimerora (an entire zone). Another vital arc is the Introduction to Vanguard (level 35+). It only takes a few minutes but unlocks your ability to earn Vanguard Merits, which let you buy some cool stuff. I do these two arcs, without fail, on every toon.
- All the contacts in Vanguard (lvl 35+)
- Roy Cooling, Keith Nance, and Jenny Adair arcs in TI (lvl 20-30)
These are newer arcs, so generally better quality content.
Same applies to the new low-level ones from Matthew Habashy, Twinshot and the other low level contacts in Atlas Park.
At some point, you'll want to run through all 4 contacts in the Hollows (level 5+ ? 6+ ?), all 4 contacts in Striga and all 4 contacts in Croatoa. Each of these is a series of arcs set entirely in that zone and with a coherent story. Croatoa is the newer of these and, consequently, generally somewhat higher quality. A lot of people don't like the Hollows so much, and some is kind of repetitive, but there are a couple of classic missions in there.
The list you posted had Tina McIntyre (and I agree). I would also add Maria Jenkins (level 45+ in Peregrine). Their arcs are related.
You don't need to run all this stuff on one character, or at any particular time, but you should eventually get around to running them at least once. -
Quote:Actually, it is a good design. Otherwise the entire SG could be useless and all the members hosed because one person leaves the game without passing leadership. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.So I can lose access to an SG and base I dumped all my own personal resoruces into just like that becuase someone else was a member? Wow.. that's kinda BS imo. Brilliant game design that.
Sorry you got messed up by it, but it's a good design and working as intended. -
I have a Core i7 870, 8GB of RAM and an HD5750 video card.
I have ultra mode on, at moderate settings, and don't turn anything down to run two instances. -

Quote:We're not talking about consoles, and I believe the average computer upgrade cycle is just under 3 years. So 8 years would see multiple hardware upgrades, in general.Yes, but do you think people stop trying to squeeze every ounce of performance out of that hardware?
Also, consoles don't change that fast, neither do user computers unless there is a problem.
Quote:Anyway, do you have any ideas for solving my issue permanently?
Spending money on new internet or hardware is not an option at the moment nor is it a permanent solution.
P.S. I don't see a DxDiag or CoHHelper in this thread. Is any of that posted in another thread? -
Quote:I would guess this is only an issue with full screen CoH. I play in windowed mode and ZoneAlarm has no problem. It seems that ZoneAlarm does not play well with City of Heroes. I don't play regularly, so there's always a patch to download when I log in. The patch changes the .exe file, which causes ZA to pop-under a warning. In order to get to the pop-under (to allow CoH to connect to the server) and pat ZA on the head and tell it that, yes, I know the .exe file has changed, and yes, I'd like to allow it to connect, I have to alt-tab out of CoH. This apparently gives ZA fits. Some part of the CoH display becomes permanently lodged on the desktop, as you've seen.
I don't think that would work since, after a patch, it's effectively a different program. I have ZoneAlarm set to unconditionally allow CoH but it blocks it every time it gets patched. Which is good, I would say. That's exactly what you want a firewall to block - programs that have changed. -
"How can we tell if she is made of wood."
"Build a bridge out of her?" -
-
Well that's not good. The invisible carpet sounds like a texture problem while the rocket issue likely has to do with particle effects.
Time to hit up this thread and post that information. We need to see what your graphics settings are, system specs and stuff running in the background. -
Quote:What, what what??? Are you delusional?1) I'm not suggesting that they "gimp the game". I'm suggesting that they work on the efficiency of the game to give us the same graphics using less resources, as they should do and every other game ever does.
How do you think we get better graphics over the years while computers stay the same size, lower price and even smaller size?
Are you seriously claiming that computer games in general use LESS RESOURCES each year to give BETTER GRAPHICS? Computer hardware gets more and more powerful every year. The size and cost have no bearing on this. This is blatantly obvious and common knowledge. -

Or Rogue or Vigilante. While only Heroes and Vigilantes would be able to use Ouroboros, Positron's Pal is in her current arc so a Rogue would be able to join a team running the mission from Maria.
