  1. Sorry, but it's confirmed MMs get only one(1) secondary.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Just wanted to say-been back redside for the last 3-4 weeks after a long blueside run. Nearly 4 years in here.

I found the article on the lower-level vill content very interesting here. I know I can probably find all this info elsewhere, but I usually lack the patience to search it all out. I had completely forgotten about that temp stealth power, and I didn't even know about that unlockable contact.

Any way we could see an article specifically on unlockables? Was there already one that I missed? I really dig content, but I guess I usually just do the obvious contacts. Maybe one article for redside unlocks, another for blue? ARE there any blue unlockables?

Anyway, I really dug the article, and will use the info on my currently lvl7 AR/thermal corruptor, Searcy600. Thanks!

[/ QUOTE ]I think it may be best to cover the unlockable contacts as content watch hits their level range. I will tell you that the next one, Henri Dumont, has a lvl 20-25 arc that unlocks with Strike Buster for 100 Scrapyarders. Please note that the Scrapyarders that follow the Ghost of Scrapyard around do not count for this as they have their own badge.

Oh and in addendum to another poster, blueside ha 3 more unlockable contacts as well. The Tailors at Icon.
  3. Haven't read the whole thread, but has it been asked if this applies to test server as well?
  4. I always use the Marconeville marker to get me to that building. This has the advantage of showing up regardless of how much of PO you have explored.

One more tip is that it's inside a building lobby.

I read the guide from start to finish, and while there were some generalities that maybe shouldn't have been included, please do tell besides a Kinetics who really isn't helped, greatly, by the fitness pool and stamina.

[/ QUOTE ]That would be many Masterminds. While I don't think any Fitness powers are bad, on MMs they are much more optional. My own Merc/Dark went all the way to 50 without Fitness and enjoys the extra power selections greatly.
  6. Great Guide! Just one small correction to offer.[ QUOTE ]
    Topic IV: Contacts
Kuhr’Rekt is a Rikti ambassador who hangs out inside Grandville city hall. He has some fun missions and some cool temp powers, and gives you the chance to fight a couple of heroic types. He’s technically an unlockable contact, but the requirements for unlocking him are such that unless you’ve avoided getting any badges for 40 levels, he will probably talk to you. (I think the requirement is the “Native” badge, according to one site.)

[/ QUOTE ]He actually unlocks with "Visitor" for 25 badges. A friend of mine discovered this during the RV level-bump event on test as I watched over his shoulder.

    Again, a great guide!
  7. Another note to add that I only noticed last night. If the toon with the mayhem mission logs out and doesn't log in again reasonably quickly, the mish will fail regardless of time remaining on the clock.

I'm not certain how much time needs to elapse and would appreciate any confirmation. It felt like 4-5 minutes.

What had happened was my toon was the mish holder for a coalition event and I cycled in 2 alts and kept playing on 2nd alt, and mish failed. Thereafter I cycled back the mish holder immediately after the 2 alts on following missions and had no repeats.
  8. Great guide! Just 1 point to add.

At Steel (20-24) and beyond, having 4 or more folks can spawn a signature EB/Hero in place of the normal mundane one. It starts off with Valkyrie, then Vindicators and Back Alley Brawler, and eventually scales up to include WISDOM (Heroes from Korea launch video) and Freedom Phalanx all being possible.

People are correct in citing that the CoV entrance is a classic killzone corridor with no air cover if memory serves. I thought Recluse's forces got there first? Why would they choose that? Why wouldn't there be a couple of armed air transports providing overflight to the death corridor that Recluse chose?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Obviously Lord Recluse is no Dr. Doom or Lex Luthor. They wouldn't have made that noob mistake.

    [/ QUOTE ]Got to agree.

Maybe another solution for this death funnel could be to make more than 1 entrance/exit to the base? That could be to art intensive though at this point.

Of course I'm convinced that the villains are merely trapped in conventional thinking. The heroes are falling into predictable behavior with base camping and that is an exploitable weakness.

Once I get my MM to 41 I have some ideas that should work to discourage base camping.

Wow Pax! You really put a LOT of work on that post. And I want to say up front that I give you respect and props for that. And I freely admit I neglected to alot for FF buffs in the setup time.

This was due to my playstyle. As another poster already noted, your method is to apply both buffs to 1 pet before moving to the next. My method is simply to apply both buffs to my 3rd tier pet (sometimes before I've summoned all three tiers.) and apply the 1st buff to remaining pets. Usually the 2nd buff has recharged as I get to my 5th pet. Then I finish out the buffs. If I were a /FF MM I would apply those buffs between applying the 2nd upgrade to my 4th through 6th pets when end is less an issue.

Throughout the buffing process I lessen the time lag caused by human error by targeting my next pet and cueing the buff as it recharges. So minimum buffing time, for my slotting, is something I approach fairly regularly.

Not that you'd know it by my build. My 1st upgrade has 1 rechrge and my 2nd has only 2 (both have 1 end). I usually tell folks that I need 4 minutes for my summon and buff cycle.

Oh and if targeting pets with the pet window doesn't appeal, then a friend of mine discovered a nifty command to work into a bind or macro.

    target_custom_next mypet

And btw Pax, I also appreciate you sharing your playstyle on buffing as I'd not thought of it.

    Nuthin but love.

Overall I think Bodyguard will help with MM survivability in PvP. That said, I'd still like to know what they are going to do about the time it takes a middle to high lvl MM to buff all the pets. The 5-10 minutes it takes to buff up all the pets is one of the main discouraging factors of why there are not more MM's in PvP. I think people can live with the deaths if they could return to action at full strength the way all of the other AT's can.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The buff time is definately a major issue that MMs have with their AT. No other AT has to waste 5-10 minutes (just over 5 in my case because I slotted 3 recharges into my second tier buff) before they can get back into the game. Many groups, especially PvP groups, don't want to take on a MM because they know the MM will die first, and then be unable to rejoin and contribute for an inordinately long amount of time.

[/ QUOTE ]Well, according to the binder guide, every final upgrade has a base recharge of 60 seconds. So assuming you're trying for max speed with 3 SO recharges it should take you about 2.5 minutes to fully equip.

Not that any of this belongs in a thread about bodyguard. I just had the urge to shoot down some uninformed hyperbole.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You'd better be willing to shoot down most of this thread then. At this point I'd have no objections, most of the useful commenters stopped pages ago.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Heh, in my opinion, most of this thread shoots itself down. The folks in question have refused logic and reason from others thus far though. So for me it's a "no point in spending good money after bad" scenario.

does group fly/team TP work with them?

[/ QUOTE ]Yes it does. It's not perfect by a long shot, but it does work.
  14. Gotta add 1.

Mastermind. Spammermind. This person feels sorry that only he gets to see his pets verbally respond to his orders and wants to share the joy. So when he writes his own petcom macros he has his pets ennuciate every time an order is given. Oh and it won't be a short response either as that would deprive the world of priceless wit every time the same order is issued. No it will be whatever he can cram into field limits. Sure teammates might complain when they tab and attack a minion in the next mob rather than the AV in front of them because they can't see anything but white text bubbles, but depriving the world of his wit would be a greater crime.
  15. Ok I'm trying to do this from memory, so further confirmation/correction is appreciated. You're on the right track. In options, click on the keymapping tab and basically scroll to the bottom. In the last section is something like "get position", immediately to the right are 2 columns that say something akin to "not used". Click on the middle column and then press the key you want that function mapped to. After that just click on the "save changes" tab at the bottom.

    Hope that helps.
  16. One other note for slug in particular is that it's your best form of "burst" damage. Properly timed this can be used to negate some of the more annoying mob heals, such as the Freakshow's dull pain. This principal carries over to PvP where a calm player that notes the fairly predictable damage rate our mercs have, can have his timing upset. And panicking your enemy is usually a good thing to do.
  17. Glad to see this guide finally made it to the guide section. My own experience is that personal attacks don't really seem to affect my end to much without stamina. Please keep in mind that I mostly solo and my mercs kill so fast that I may only get off 3 shots per spawn on malicious.
  18. Thanks.

I got most of these exploration badges off a site linked earlier in this thread and confirmed them. Camel Snot and Dueces Wild I stumbled onto myself before that though.

    Nerva
    Watcher on the Knoll (-94.9, 85.1, 5433)
    Tree Hugger (-165.8, 12.3, -180.5)
    Primal Instinct (2305.2, -109.6, 797.6)
    Nerva Wreck (1388.3, 10.3, 2877.3)
Locked and Loaded (3286.5, 126.3, 3644.1) current title on my Merc MM.

    St. Martial
    Camel Snot (-1885.2, 595.8, 2046.5)
    Deuces Wild (-3326, -28.8, -435.3)
    Crime lord (-895, 10, -1495)
    Stonekeeper(-2549, 120, 2995)

Try them and confirm if you would.

I've only got 1 from Warburg and have forgotton which exactly it was. Think it's WMD. At any rate, please consider the following unconfirmed until another poster says different.

    Warburg
    W M D (-751, 146, 0)
    Tunnel Rat (-1218, 1, 145)
    Triumphant (228, 274, 32)

I won't be confirming these anytime soon as Stalkers are scary and PvP zones don't have SG beacons.

Because vidiot maps isnt always right.....why do people always seem to think he is 100% spot on?

He is good, it is a useful tool, I use it myself for some of the information. But he gets alot of information through means we will not discuss here, and that information isn't always right

It isn't always turned on. SOmetimes I think they deliberately do not activate badges and accolades that are clearly....uncovered through means not involving game play

THAT is what this thread is for. people uncovering information IN GAME the way it is meant to be and sharing it with others who are interested.

    ~The Badge Witch

[/ QUOTE ]Ok cool. My question is, is there any reason why the badge locations for Nerva, St. Martial, and Warburg aren't yet posted in this thread? I've got most of these badges but was wary to post here and risk an etiquette breach.
  20. Speaking of PvP and badges, do your own PvP deaths count toward badges? I believe they do, but would like confirmation. Thanks.
  21. Heard a rumor that if you leave a teammate/pet on a destroyed turret it won't respawn. Can someone confirm?
  22. Found 2 in St. Martial.

    Camel Snot (-1885.2, 595.8, 2046.5)
    Dueces Wild (-3326.1, -28.8, -435.3)

    Crooked Politician - (- 2264, 137, -832)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can anyone confirm this one? All I found there was open water, no way to get to the elevation 137, no badge in sight (not even floating in the air at the coordinates). Or did I just miss it, or go to the wrong place somehow?

[/ QUOTE ]This one just threw mw too. Turns out a "-" was added by mistake.

You want (2264, 137, -832) for Crooked Politician.

Follow-up question. Is there an SG beacon badge for BB?
