  1. Transfusion = auto containment, without having to hold. Transfusion is an unresistable immob for 0,5 sec, enough to give your next power containment.

    Fun build but hardly the best for 1 on 1.

    I think my ice / kin will be a powerhouse for 1 on 1s against anything but rad, storm and SR.

    * / kin troller, primary doesnt matter that much. I prolly prefer ice, because of consept.
    emp defender.
    spines / regen scrapper.
    ice / nrg tank
    ice / nrg blaster.
  4. I was thinking about it, but its better to make sure we can hold him and keep him held. Before we start using vanguard.
    This raid is about 1 thing, being as efficent as posible while causing as little lag as posible. Alot of the solutions were put in to reduce lag even if its not optimal. We were talking alot about it and we were kinda sure that we should skip the attack fase and just let the controllers damage from holds slowly grind hamidon down. It takes longer but gives a lot less lag. and thus we just might have a chance without crashing the servers.

    Proper support toons are a must, and thermal is prolly the best. And yes in a good PvP team you need atleast 1 thermal, 1 kin and 1 sonic playing the support this is the back bone of any optimised team. Reason for sonic is clarity, thaw isnt quite good enough as mez protection. 2 Thermals can keep most alive if they use their buffs and heals, and increase the damage of stalkers quite alot. The kin is for unsupressed movement and slow protection. Sonic is there for sonic cage(only used on certain targets, its not a spam button) and clarity. + extra shields.
    In conclusion thermals are needed if you wanna do this proper.

    Let me tell you a little story of my ice / nrg fighting against 10 villains and winning because he had proper support from an empath. Alone I would do nothing but faceplant, with 2 ice / nrg we would do nothing but faceplant. But with support I became one hell of a killing machine, that was very very hard to kill.

    will get their [censored] chewed off against a team with

    1 ill / emp, 1 sonic defender, 1 */kin troller, 1 bubbler and 2 ice / nrg blasters. Its about being diverse and having buffs and debuffs do handle everything. Not having 2 thermals on your team is a mistake, these guys should play healer and buffers, nothing else.

    Yup. Only reason for taking fire secondary is getting awesome AoE damage from burn and hotfeet.

    To the OP I like your build. Great for PvE with a "pet" troller.
    1 thing. Go for 3 dam in all your attacks instead of 1 of the end, you won have that many end problems with a kin troller giving you sb.
  8. Buy alot of BFs, then I just run arround and hurt stuff until its dead. Soloing my ice / nrg is increadible easy. I dont solo on anything but invinc, except for getting AVs down to EB status.

    I cant think of a blaster build that cant solo missions on invinc if you think about how your slotted and what powers to take. The only difference is speed.
  9. Oh PLing, I want some of that.

    Dont make anything but corrs and stalkers, you dont need anything else. Perhaps a dom or 2 for the toggle knocks and added control. And your good to go. For base raids if your attacking a stone brute or 2 might be nice to have to take the others alpha strike. But basicly in any PvP team you want about 3 people attacking and 5 people playing support of some way.
    Bah I forgot about the MM using force bubble to create a disruption is buff and heals. But aside from that making alot of corrs is the way to go.
    For an 8 person team, go something like 3 * spines stalkers for the main damage and 5 corrs for support. 1 Sonic, 1 Kin, 2 Thermals and 1 Cold. You cant really go wrong with a team like this, unless the corrs stop buffing and healing the team. Corrs are also increadible at spiking, so you should include that in your tactics.

    Stone Brutes, MMs(force fielders) and doms are nice to have for support of that main team. Just remember doms dont work without alot of buffing.

    Pre-mito clearing phase is impossible to keep the Hami-Tank alive with 2 empaths only after ED for 2 reasons

    1)The healing blanket that the 2 empaths create to keep themselves alive is not sufficient

    2)The healing spam they provide to the hami-tank considering the heal cycle of 1/1 (1heal other,1 heal aura spam which is necessary at initial hami aggro effort) is simply not fast enough and high enough to ensure survivability.The safe number for empaths during that phase starts from 3 (really experienced empaths regarding hami aggro procedure and tanking) or 4-5 if we are talking about a fast hami tank team setup.

    Well last time we tried having novocaine as tanker, he got in the goo without dying and tanked without problems until our PA team [censored] up(I was on that team and made the silly judgement of pulling 2 PA droppers to a GM that was aggroed leaving them too short in numbers). 2 emps are enough with a decent PA team. But these werent just any empaths, it was elerith and empath, prolly the two best empaths on defiant. The setup was the fastest I have ever seen. Believe me this raid will have no problems setting up the tank and keeping him alive. The only things Im worried off is not crashing the server and holding hamidon. The rest we have covered.
  11. First thing, I dont have problems with blappers on my ill / rad controller, I dont think I have ever lost to a "blapper" 1 on 1.
    Secondly I dont have problems with stormies either(not with a PvPbuild). Thing is I hit through the acc debuff because of RI, mine is slotted 3 tohit debuff, 3 defence debuffs and 2 end(HOs), so it comes normally comes down to a shooting contest where I carry a bettter damage / heal ratio. I have killed stormies standing in their hurricane.

    2nd, * / kin, has a good chance to win because of the exploit. Without use of the exploit I win. The reason comes down to having a better damage / heal ratio. You simply cant beat having a self heal for duals. One of the reasons empathy trollers are a very good set for duals. Not as good as rad though since they have debuffs and a self heal.
  12. Its lag that is killing the servers, we need to reduce lag as much as posible. And believe me holding hamidon is that hard. What is hard is redusing the lag enough to be able to hold and kill hamidon. This is made as being the best attempt we can think off. Besides if its a problem we will call in more holders.

    Depends on your primary Night, some primaries are very good for getting a person to stand still, ice and mind and to a lesser degree earth.

    Hami nucleus has 47120 hp and 90-95% resistance to everything if I recall correctly..

  15. Fire / kin over fire rad unless the guy your fighting has defence or tohit debuffs. eg SR, Rad and so on. I dont understand what pets has to do with it though.
  16. Going to try very hard to get a team, we had a person cancel in the last moment. Ill check who is online during the day and see if I can get a decent team together. I would say arround 50 / 50 odds. There is also the slim chance that we are just PvEing, we are trying really hard to level good toons for this event. We found we need good synergy between builds and we simply dont have that given the restrain of 2 ATs. We normally use trollers for everything. But we are getting there fast, we are lvl 37-39 now so about a week or two should get us there.
  17. Depends on your primary and if you PvP and your other powers. Generally you need boost range if you plan on PvPing.
  18. The Paragon Defenders are the masters of faceplanting, hence most of them took vengeance. Its not that they are good players, they are the best I have seen on defiant, its more cause they all have the attitude I can solo this group of 5+ standing very close to a 6+ group on my blaster.

    You prolly are, its a very rare day if I loose on my ill / rad. Ill take on your fire / ff anyday if your up for it, with my ill / rad troller. Just have to be on test server cause right now Im running a pure PvE build.
    Btw ice / kins are also very nice for 1 on 1 pvp, except against defence sets or sets with good tohit buffs like rad.

    I have to completely dissagree here, Illusion Control is just amazing, it's by far the most fun and chaotic, but that's why it's so beautiful.

    You can over-do Control, I think, that's what the rest of them does - Illusion does it's Control in a better way, it's still doing that Control all the time, while contributing heavily to damage. Illusion doesn't lack Control, it just has the perfect ammount.

    We are talking about PvE right?, in PvE illusion lacks ways to get containment, they dont lack control. Because of lack of ways to get containment all the other sets carry more damage lvl 41+ if those sets take fireball.

    My Blapper Build

    Looks nice Irra, just put 1 more acc in power thrust, the knockback can really help against bosses and stuff. +for PvP after you toggle knock you have take alot of damage against scraps or other blappers(they normally have a tendency to hit back) so 1 good power thrust sends them flying and gives you time to get off a couple of uber defiance powered attacks.

    ZOMG SPEED BOOST!!!

    How can you not take this cool power that allmost doubles your xp. Just keep this baby on then entire team and watch the xp roll in. And in the breaks where you arent buffing you can play with the other cool stuff like PA, Fulcrum Shift , blind + sw + epic blast combo, siphon speed and stuff like that.
  24. Fire / kin, then I wont to do much but stand at the entrance getting PLed and eat cookies.

    [edit]Controller sets are about equal for control except gravity is a bit under. It allways comes down to the team and what your fighting. A good controller can lock down most mobs on any set so it doesnt matter much. I just like */kins more cause I get to have speed boost and buffs from a good fulcrum.

    Illusion has the best long time control, its prolly the only set that can keep an 8 man spawn occupied forever. But that doesnt really matter in good teams.
    For most teams fire is the best cause of the extra damage it gives.
    Earth is for overall control, the have something for every situation.
    For pure control I would prefer earth / kin, its the only set I know off that can perma occupy an AV. They do however have problems keeping large spawns under control for a long time not that it really matters.
