    Erm. No. PvP will be an optional part of gameplay. Always.

    The changes in I5 had very little to do with PvP and a lot to do with boring PvE. It's that simple. No conspiracy there - I think I've stated this several times.

    As for the supposed "emphasis" on PvP - I think you'll see that it's just ONE part of City of Villains. It has PvE content levels 1 to 50.

    We'll continue to add new PvE content (which I5 did exclusively, I might add) in the future.

    they are prepping for CoV. obviously.

    they need to resolve all these niggly pvp problems to ensure the transition to CoV is smooth.

    what bothers me is there was a statement by states a few months back that they could alter powers seperately for pvp and pve, at this point in time this appears not to be possible anymore or is no longer viable..the question is WHY?

    you just took the "super" out of hero and made this game a lot less fun. you want a fix to your kiting problem? lift the debuff penalties on all travel powers and instead add a range check. that way we can have the outrageously glorious ground and air battles that make this game fun.

    We endeavor NOT to change powers solely because of PvP. The powers we are changing are usually because of PvE or PvE AND PvP.

    Boss Changes

    statesman why didn't you just scale boss hp and dmg in line with the mission slider??

    that way people can play pre-issue 3 if they want. At the same time why don't you incentivize by boosting xp for those higher up the slider, ie mission reward xp mainly and reduce it for those playing on the lower end of the slider.
  8. no offense Statesman but all the boss hp boost has done is turn this game into City of Inspiration chewers, I am feeling less and less of a hero with every publish. The mobs remain mindless zombies and I have rainbow colored lips from all the inspiration gum i have to keep chewing

    without inspirations I cannot take down a boss, with them I can take him down eventually and win, i never lose. I do not come across even con bosses so inspirations are a must, I just need even more.

    This is not fun, this is not "good and fair gameplay", can you not see how polarized your game is? Your either eating dirt, or with enough inspirations...home free and the damning thing is, my ability to take down a boss has very little to do with my "skill" or build but the amount of purple/green/yellow/blah candy I have chewed - this is not what it feels like to be a hero.

    Make no mistake, I can still solo and have yet to die in I3, I just need more trips to the inspiration dealer. I don't enjoy doing this and you should realise inspirations are in fact papering over the cracks in a very broken combat engine.

    Excuse me but how about this no-brainer, why did you not just scale Boss dmg/hp boosts to the mission slider? (yeah i know that it wouldnt cover street sweeping).


    my background: former teamplayer ice/ice blaster, now lvl 48 and jaded from repeating tilesets etc and now a soloist (also due to RL issues) playing on hardboiled, doing FBZ missions only. Max session time 1hr. DM/DA blaster: lvl 30, still awaiting stacking :/ Ice/Ice Blaster: Active lvl 48 going to open EAT or go to WoW euro beta whichever comes first :P

    btw I do realise you have a business to protect and you want to slow people down in xp terms, before they hit the content wall, but you need to be a little smarter with your solutions than the current "one size fits all" response. Although heck, bet you saved a ton of dev time with that one might be time to expand your team if you're feeling the pinch, don't let your playerbase suffer hits from your shortcut solutions because your behind schedule.
  9. forget all the more powersets, more EAT's fluff

    1)severe A.I boost, us heroes have it easy versus these mindless zombie mobs

    2)new tilesets for every single faction with multiple entry points and strategical map design

    3)removal of provoke

    4)stacking armors for the shafted! (you know who you are!! :P)
  10. don't forget also that euro's who jumped onto the u.s servers - some of them have quit or taken a sabbatical while waiting for the euro servers to come up...imagine their reaction when they find out they have to buy another copy of the game lol!

    you're only driving more people towards WoW or other mmo's with this business plan :P because it makes no sense to the consumer to purchase something they already have, the net gain of having a euro copy of CoH is not substantial enough to justify the purchase - why not buy a whole new game?
  11. as a european :P i refuse to buy this thing again, there is no technical reasoning for it. All throughout this thread you have not once attempted to justify why it is necessary to pay for the game again. It is retarded, it makes no sense and the worrying thing is you know full well it doesn't :/

    SOE never stooped to this level and i cannot believe you guys are

    in february WoW europe will launch....now...do i spend my money again to get a duplicate of a game i already have or do i try WoW out????????! you've made the decision for me and others already.

    i convinced a bunch of my friends to come to CoH, all of them burned the game out within 2months and im the last man standing :P but as persuasive as i am there is no way i can convince them to buy the game again.....playing with RL friends is a big big deal for me

    1) character transfer? i have to pay to transfer AND pay for a dupe copy of CoH?

    2) what happens if i bought the cd-key online via Ncsoft..do i still need to buy the euro version to play on euro servers?

    i realise this is purely a business decision but c'mon now....you guys ain't SOE
