    So let me get this straight.

    1.) The E-mail system is a source of spam.
    2.) The E-mail spam ruins the game play experience.
    3.) The E-mail system is useless.

    So Main point: As the E-mail system is a source of spam that ruins the gameplay experience, AND is completely useless, it should be removed.

    So I don't understand? If it's completely useless, how does it matter if it is filled with spam?

    If it's a feature you never use, how does that spam ruin your experience?

    If it's a feature that you use often, and the experience is ruined by spam, why would you want to have the email system yanked out entirely, since that would undoubtedly be worse than having spam in the inbox?

    Are you really going to try and argue that the little text that reads "Email" and turns red when you have some is ruining your entire game play experience? Or are you really going to argue having to delete spam mail every so often is ruining the entire gaming experience?

    Either way, I want to ask you this, how do you survive on the internets? Do you not get spam e-mail in your non CoX email accounts? And if so don't they ruin your internet experience and shouldn't you have quit the interwebz by now?

    Sorry, but the E-mail system should stay. Yes spam is annoying, but oh well, if the E-mail system is really so useless then E-mail spam shouldn't affect you that much.

  7. Yeah, I will be around all day today (Saturday) after about noon PST and probably tomorrow (Sunday) after 4 PM PST. I will likely try to do this at least once during this time, or more if my teams keep failing.
  8. So it turns out, most of the people I talk to these days tell me how freaking easy the ITF is, they never or rarely fail etc etc.

    I have run the ITF more times than I can count, easily over a dozen, on my blaster, my stlker, my scrapper, my tanker and my newer blaster. Every team I have joined, save 3 , has failed and some quite miserably. It's getting old and Im getting frustrated.

    Most of my teams breeze through the majority of the TF and fail at Nictus Romulus.

    So, I want to beat it with my level 40, Energy, Energy blaster. I'd love to meet up with some people that know how to do this damned TF well so I can actually beat it for the first time in months. I will be around all weekend, lots of free time, I am pretty laid back and I know how to dish out the ranged damage.

    I'm actually kinda tired of heroes and villains being all chummy. I'd like to see things where we have PVE vs PVE, much like the battle zones in Siren's Call, but not necessarily PVP. Task forces that counter each other (via Oroborous for example) as villains do X and Heroes try to undo it, giving nice rewards to wresting control from one side or the other.

    I want to see COMPETITIVE zones. It can't be that hard to do without resorting to lolpvp.

    You know, I've been on PUGs that had 50% level 50s, the rest lackied level 35s, with no regard for mix of ATs, and I have yet to fail it or even complete team wipe. I can only shudder at what the PUGs you must have been on were like!

    The funny thing is, they weren't even that bad. The few times I have done an ITF successfully, it was what you just described. It was a Pick up group with side-kicked people and no regard to what ATs are involved, we got through and we won.

    The other times it was the same as well. Random PuG and the weird thing is. Everyone is competent, we have no trouble through the entire ITF, we get to Rommy and all of a sudden we can't do damage, we can't get him separated, we just can't get him taken down.

    It seems I just have bad lucky because no one I talk to, besides me at this point, runs into this problem.

    I agree. I never understood why the Developers decided AE buildings needed to be in so many zones. Out of all the things to put into practically ever zones, they did AE? It seems half of these buildings don't even really get used.

    Can I get something more useful in every zone? I mean, can we get Went Worths or Universities or Vault Reserves or Icon Stores in every zone? AE buildings are great, but do we need them in Brickstown, Founders, IP, Galaxy, Skyway, etc?

    And yeah, I think AE needs to be tweaked to be less farmable and the building pulled out of Atlas. SC is a good enough "Gathering spot" for people. If lowbies want to use one, leave the one in KR, that should be fine enough, but Atlas is too busy as it is to have an AE building there too. Too much stuff going on in that zone which can be overwhelming to new players.
  13. My Question is. How do Bases work, story wise? Where are they located? How are they provided? How do the items get into the base etc? Is it completely up to the Hero how their bases work, does the city have some sort of crazy underground network of bases they provide? How do the base tele-porters work within the system?

    Sometimes that is all I can personally put in.. I mean I once ran a vanguard mission where the guy I was supposed to defeat Spawned in as an Ally Pet, as did his entire mob. I couldn't defeat him or fire on him at all because he was an ally.

    When I bugged it. All I could say was "I went in this mission, the guy I was supposed to beat spawned as an ally."

    I would have loved to have given more details but hell, I don't know why the game did that. (And did it every time I reset the mission after.) I just know, "Target Z" Was an ally and couldn't be fired on or interacted with in any way.

    Now if the Devs gave me access to their code and spread sheets, I know I could track down the problem lickity split, I've taken apart a lot of video games in the past and once I know how the data is stored, organized etc, I can get through stuff like that damned fast. ( I analyze data at work on the time.) But if they gave me access to all that, then I'd be working there..

    In game '/bug' reports go directly to QA in Austin, who shuffle through them, verify them, and add them into our bug tracking database before sending them our way where they get doled out to individuals to fix. That process can take a long time.

    Honestly for a long time I have been unsure the best way to get bugs and stuff to the Developers in the most expedient manner. I have done /bug and talked to the in game managers etc, and most people tell me to do that, but it never feels like that goes anywhere. I do try to post stuff on the forums but it rarely gets much of a response. (( A.) I'm not much of a bug hunter. B.) you guys got lots of things to do besides responding to every minor bug reported here.))

    However having you say that, really makes things clearer to me and I will keep that in mind for all future bugs, especially in open betas and the like.

    I play the lottery on a semi regular basis, so in my day dreaming I have thought about this exact scenario. Since I very much would love to travel the world, but I don't think I'd give up CoH.

    In fact I would probably just buy 2 ridiculously high powered lap tops with satellite internet connection so that my girlfriend and I could play CoH in our down time during our travels around the world. And then I could inform all the people I team with of the lovely view I have in India while I am playing the game.

    Of course I would only be able to do a couple missions at a time between sight seeing and what not, but I like this game too much to just walk away from it.

    OP: Sorry to see you go, we hope you come back soon and in the mean time.. Help the economy, let some of your friends haz ur stuf.

    Something that I haven't seen any comments on is the visual effect applied to characters at the end of a cutscene during the Anniversary TF. It's a screen-space effect, something that doesn't exist anywhere else in the game, which required whole new tech to make happen (and which we're already trying to figure out ways to utilize elsewhere).

    They don't release new stuff on fridays. They do it early in the week so that if something goes wrong and there is a huge bug that breaks the game, they have people in the office to deal with it.

    I've always understood that the X-factor gene was *not*standard in any way, shape, or form, and that was the whole point behind the randomness of mutant powers. One of the reasons it's an "X" gene because its results in a mature mutant are almost completely unpredictable.

    As for why there are few mutants walking around with detrimental powers...well, that's where standard evolutionary protocol comes in. If your mutation makes your life difficult, harder, or even impossible, your survival rate is diminished. Negative mutations die off, while positive ones thrive.

    More importantly, if their mutations are too detrimental they likely die off before they reproduce so their negative mutant genes are passed on to the next generation.

    First off. Nukes and Shivans aren't the mini games, they are the rewards for the mini games. And making those rewards available to people outside of PVP won't all of a sudden make people stop PVPing. The people who PVP do so because they like PVP. I don't know anyone who goes to get those rewards and PVPs just for that reason. The people who want those usually go when the zone is dead so they can get them and get out.

    2.) Those Zones aren't built around the rewards, they don't exist just because of the mini games. Those Zones exist for PVP. From my understand lot of people go to the zones and PVP and don't even bother with the mini games.

    I'm sorry but the PVP community of this game is not that large and the PVP aspect of this game is not that large and Nukes and Shivans are terribly useful in PVE. There is no good reason that these shouldn't be made available as a reward for other things like a difficult task force or trial.

    If people are really going to argue that these rewards make or break PVP, then PVPers aren't all that dedicated to PVP. And if PVPers are that dedicated to PVP, then people getting these rewards in PVE shouldn't matter to them since it affects them not one bit.

    Still Wings

    So I love some of the wing options we have. Well okay, I love all of them I think they are all well done.

    However I would much prefer outstretched wings that do not flap, but when flying simply stretch out and give more of a feeling of gliding.

    So I was thinking of ways this could be implemented.

    My first thought is new Fly emotes. Emotes that would simply have you keep your wings steady. Then This wouldn't work with current flyposes, so my thought was marry all the current flyposes with still wings in a new system

    So Flypose1 would be Wingpose1. Same pose as flypose 1 but with still wings.

    The other option is to do it at the tailor so that when you pick Demon wings, there would be two options. Demon Wings - Still, Demon wings - Beating. Though that would need to be done for all wings.

    Still I think it'd be something that could be done without too much effort.

    Any thoughts, would anyone else like to see this?
