This booster pack is a total rip off. They are charging $10 to do something that should have been built into the tailor to begin with.
Frankly, I don't see how you guys can stand for this.
The costume sucks. The animations are cool, but the gender change? THat should have been available all along.
MC Soft = Sony now I guess...no, wait...at least Sony gives you a bigger world with each paid expansion...and more levels.
RIP OFF for a a bunch of suckers.
More and more, I'm disliking the way things are turning in htis game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why do you care what other people want to do with their hard-earned money? If anyone's a sucker, you are, because you gripe about the game with every one of your posts and yet still pay to play.
If you're gonna rip on the company, at least get the name right.

I like this idea. Seems easy to implement. A custom group would be considered invalid to use until a Minion class was added. Then the game could automatically weight it so there are more minions than bosses.
I like it, I think it's a strong idea. -

[/ QUOTE ]
Okay. You got that partly right.
Cryptic and NC Soft made this game jointly. During the time this game was in production, lots of people worked on it, many left the project during production or after Launch of City of Heroes. The game went through a couple Lead Designers, before Jack Emmert, AKA Statesman. (If I remember correctly, there was at least one before him.)
Some time After City of Villains launched, (I want to say 8 months after but I am fuzzy on that.) Cryptic cut the team that worked on CoH\CoV down to about 15 people, not all of whom had been working on the game at launch.
About a year after that cut was made NC Soft bought out Cryptics share of the game. Everyone that was with the City of * games at the time, except Jack Emmert, decided to stay with the game and work with NCSoft, left Cryptic etc.
Shortly after they bought out the game, NC Soft moved the developers from Texas ( Austin I believe, but who knows Im going completely off of memory.) To mountain view, which is in the Bay area, California. The City of * team got their own office in mountain view and started staffing up to get more people and were known for a while as NCNC (NC Nor-Cal) And recently changed their name to Paragon Studios, a sub division of NC Soft, then proceeded to make the game more and more awesome and slowly but surely give the players everything they ever asked for, dreamed of and didn't know they wanted. (More or less.)
And some where in that sordid history were lots of beta tests, lots of Doom crying, a number of new issues and updates and a couple Hero Cons. -
Who came up with this?
What's going on here?
I Don't Know about this...
Very nice, very clever. -

Technically, July 31st, 11:58 PM is still in July.
However, I would expect more juicy details by no later than Comi-con.

Actually BaBs I hate to disagree with you but at the hour between July 31st 11PM and August 1st 12AM isn't July. After July 31st 11PM is the start of a little known and very short month called DickmoveDevsember. Just fyi.
I kid of course.
Put please don't make us wait til 2 minutes til midnight on the 31st, thats just cruel and unusual, and very Villainous. And you guys hate villains, so don't do that. -

Okay, that was bad - if only because I remember when that song came out.

Yeah, I meant it to be bad. If only to inflict a small fraction of the pain Castle gave us by lording over us with his insider info, back onto any dev's who might have read that.
I really am surprised I didn't get more "Boo-hiss"es with that one. It just goes to show, some things are so dumb even the people on the internet won't dignify them with a response. And I'm not sure if I should be proud or sad that I came up with one of those things. -

One of the coolest places in COX is the CoT Stronghold. It's only used in two redside missions, one from Scirocco and one from Mage-Killer Zuhkara.
[/ QUOTE ]
I got the one from Mage-Killer Zuhkara on my Bots/Dark MM the other day, and out of lack of familarity with the map did it backwards -- I went straight to the 'end' fortress and waxed the EB protecting the altar, then worked backwards around the loop taking out the other ceremonies. It was funny to realize I'd done it backwards; the rest of the mission was sort of an anticlimax after the EB fight. But it's a wonderful map.
[/ QUOTE ]
I ussed that map when I was fiddling with AE a while back, I really like that one. -

Wasn't their a way to adjust colors though, so you could make text match the background of the forum and blend in etc?

Anyone know what the codes are for the colors of the back grounds on red and blue side? -

You folks have no idea how scared the rest of us were. We thought he'd snapped! I mean, BABs has WEAPONS at his desk, you know.
[/ QUOTE ]
So that wasn't just a figure of speech? He really was giggling like a school girl that entire time? That's awesome, and yes maybe a bit creepy if he has weapons at his desk.
Also now that I know BaBs is a fan... BaBs can we get a school girl giggle emote? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Especially since Lothic (last I checked) still not happy that the dves took the time to change the alakazamreact emote to bring up random objects when one the juggle emotes still don't work when hovering (even after it was pointed out that it BAB said it was fixed but got broken again).
[/ QUOTE ]
That was me...but in my defense:
1) I didn't know that the juggle emotes weren't working with flight at the time (technically, they were working, they were just being immediately interrupted by the flight idle animations)
2) It took about 10 minutes to copy the giant list of FX GEOs from Propel, and then remove the ones that were way too big
3) It made me giggle like a schoolgirl for a solid couple of hours.
[/ QUOTE ]
So you have time to giggle like a schoolgirl for hours on end but not enough time to give us juggle animations that work while flying?
Or what about all of the other things we have been asking for? Seems to me that couple hours could have spent doing everything else all at once. You need to have your priorities sorted out man, that's messed up.
*If you can't tell that this post was a joke, by the statement that BaBs should have worked on everything else the players want all at once and could have had it all accomplished and done in a matter of a couple hours, then: I pity you. -

Whenever we coaxed a redname into talking about power customization, they'd always say it was a huge amount of work. My response was always, "I don't care, I want power customization, do it anyway." Well, I'm gonna get my wish come issue 16, so now I want to know: how long DID it end up taking? How many man hours was it? Obviously they're not done yet or we'd probably be in beta, but once they finish I want to know how long it took. For posterity.

I think Twitter is lame. I think it's a great site for Stalkers to use to keep tabs on their stalkees and their celebrity of choice. I really think it's a fad at best and not even a cool one.
However my dislike of things goes only so far.
Upon finding out that Positron_CoH Twitters, I promply went to the site and bookmarked his page.
I still won't join Twitter or condone it. However if there is any news of CoH coming out there, you bet I will read it...

I got my 39 month vet reward in February of this year. (Feb 13th or so if it makes a difference.)
My account has been active the entire time and I should have had my 42 month vet reward in late May, May 13th.
I haven't really been paying attention so I didn't notice it until now, but it seems this Vet reward is almost 2 months late. I checked my account today, it says my Vet Rewards time is 3 years 9 months.
My account also states my next Vet reward is the 45 month reward Due on august 13, right on schedule.
It appears the game skipped my 42 month reward entirely. Anyone know what I do to get that going? -
Nice taking quotes out of context there. Good stuff.
You can't blame buyers entirely, sellers play just as big a part of it. Just because an item is highly valued or in high demand doesn't mean that they have to set their prices so high, but they do anyway. -

After Joe Young and Cornelius took up DJ Zero's offer to move their Rikti Monkey Fight Club out of Sharkhead and into Pocket D to get out from under the Family's attempts to get a bigger share of the profits, the Family took over the abandoned equipment and set up their own RMFC, but it remains considerably seedier than the one in Pocket D. [ QUOTE ]
You're ignoring the "supplier" factor - who controls the availability of a product. As a result, they too are responsible for high-priced items.
[/ QUOTE ]
I base my disagreement with this on the fact that a few hours ago I listed a peice of salvage for 1 influence and received 535,000 for it.
In fact, the only way a seller (in game) could be blamed for high pricing is if that seller were capable of completely sidestepping the market transaction system AND preventing players from purchasing that item from anyone but him.
The two purples I've had drop I crafted and listed both at the crafting price plus 50%. They both sold for far far more than than what I had them listed at. That's the result of the buyer placing a blind bid for that item based on the buyers perceived value. The history shows the price paid by the buyer. It does not show the price given to the seller. If you bid 1000 on an item, it will not go the the seller with the 999 sale price, but the seller with the 1 sale price.
High pricing is the fault of buyers, not sellers.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's assuming all sellers set a reasonable price. High prices can be the fault of the buyers, but it doesn't have to be and sellers, especially sellers of the more rare items, absolutely can set the price super high and make prices go up.
IE. There are 10 purple recipes of a given kind on the market. All of those selling the recipes have set the price at 50M a piece or more. Are you going to tell me the price of that Item is high because of the buyer?
If the seller percieves something to be worth a lot they will sell it for a lot. Items that get placed cheaply, for 1 inf or what ever, will clear out quickly for items that are bid on a lot, leaving only the items placed by the higher sellers which will then only be bought if people pay more.
Are the buyers complicant? Yes of course they are, if people stopped paying 280Million for recipes or even 20 million for recipes, sellers would be forced to bring their prices down to offload their items. However so long as people are willing to pay that much, sellers will absolutely set there minimum price quite high because eventually some one will pay it.
So yes, sellers and buyers are both a part of the problem, blaming it on either one side just isn't accurate. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Demand is still pretty much the same. It's supply that got shifted around, and most people haven't bothered to realize that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Here's why purples are so expensive-
1: Merits
2: AE
Merits let people 'buy' those super expensive IOs directly without spending any inf. result: more money in the system & more disposable income for the power players.
AE sucked the farmers out of PI, where they were generating a lot of purples, and dropped them in a purple-free environment.
So we have a lot more money chasing a lot fewer recipes.
[/ QUOTE ]
People doing real mission farms would generate more Purples. So back to the old school farming methods.
Also I have a perma lvl 46 tank that will be happy to bridge on virtue.
