    Regen remake

    Hey all,

I'm looking to remake my first character ever to hit 50, a spines/regen scrapper into a regen brute.

(Seriously though, I have no idea how I even got spines to 50... the sets annoys me so much now...)

The character was a bit of a Marrow hommage, but I can live without that. The only other thing that would fit the bill is claws as far as bone control goes.

I'm wondering would claws work well with regen or would the redrwa drive me bonkers again?

Secondary question: what set would me most potent with regen, including redraw (I did buy street justice but I'm not so sure)
  2. What about using the new energy transfer animation instead of the TF one? I know people don't like it much but I think that's only because it is much linger than the old one.

Just making solar flare do KD instead of KB. Would be a huge buff to PBs.
  3. This would be AWESOME. Plus, no real new animations to make so it seems like it would almost be the level of work as for proliferation.

I am of the opinion that it should be rifle-based.
T9 could be a single target burst like full auto. Slug seems way too 'meh' for a T9
  4. What I like to do (and it has worked rather well so far level 30 now in a duo with a stalker) is once static field is down, I hit chain jolt and then chain fences ( with 2 procs!) by the time they get back up, most of them are back asleep or drained to nil. I find myself not using tesla as much as I should though...
  5. Well, I think he implied you summoned one at a time but you can have several out at a time, like trip mine... so you could have say 6 following you if you have high enough recharge.
  6. It's also a buff though, so that's a good thing.
  7. Imma put 02 boost on auto yo

[edit]wow that was typed in all caps... forum won't allow that it seems[/edit]

Any mob with an AoE is gonna rock your zombies and graveknights hard, especially those Heavy Commanders on lambda who seem to be able to pump out AoE after AoE with no pause between them.

That said, I'm of the opinion that if you can tough it out, Necro's generally superb damage will work out when you get level shifted up a few notches.
I have started a Necro/Storm (level 10 now) and something feels off so far. I'm going to think about it a little more before going further.

I presume Thugs get hit less with AOE because they are not in melee range with the tank/brutes/scrappers and because of the enforcer maneuvers? (No experience yet on the iTrials)
  9. Oh right there is a splash effect (gross!) on the vomit... Interesting, thanks for pointing that out! It's certainly a unique combination.
  10. Indeed, but wouldn't that benefit (in normal play) to sets with more aoe? Necromancy has just a few. Thugs has a lot, and I kinda salivate as to what would happen with the Oni's RoF

I would definitely say some sort of melee pets. So zombie and Ninja. Storm Ninja does seem to fit thematically.
What's the rationale behind that? I see the argument for range as I might be moving the mobs around, but why melee?

That's far from being a given!
  13. I'm quite set on making a Stormie MM, but I still have doubts on the primary. I Already have active DS, Mercs and Bot MMs. I also have a ninja/poison... but well, that's not such a good combo so I might be willing to consider Ninja. Mostly I'm just wondering between Thugs and Necro. What's the dynamic? Anyone got experiences to share?

PS *PLEASE* do not suggest traps, I feel like that's being done in every thread and I already have a /traps MM. (I'm one of those who doesn't like to play the same powerset more than once if avoidable)
  14. I did consider Cold for other characters but could never make one as I do have to play solo or small teams most of the time, so 3 powers that can be only used on teams put me off a little. Storm is it's own thing, and I really want to play it again. I might use cold on another character eventually though.

I know it's the wrong forum but while we're at it, anyone have experience with storm as a Mastermind secondary?
  15. Well that feeling may come from a few bad experiences, with a bad and immature build ( for example ice mistral in a 8 man safeguard back when they were new, I was unable to protect the team, perhaps not really through a fault of my own).

I'm still unsure about the choice but your commenst are very helpful!
  16. I'm in such an indecisive state that I need to ask for advice for powerset selection which I usually don't do...

I have a shelved storm/ice and I wish to start playing a storm character again (I have also a 40ish storm/elec which has brought me much joy in my beginnings but I can't foresee playing again). I'm going to play either solo or in a duo.

The question is so: Does sonic allow to leverage with -RES the damage from storm to overcome the awesomeness that is Ice Storm? That appeals to me, drawing damage from the primary.

Side question: How is ice against hard targets, can it solo AVs? One on the things I disliked with my first stormy is how useless I felt against hard targets and I wish to avoid that.

    Thanks!

Not directly related to the focus issue but still an interesting behavior. I will have to try moving up from minimum see if it improves performance on my computasaur.

On the matter at hand, would it be safe to bump the other processes up a notch in priority if it is not possible to bump CoH down?
  18. I'm getting mixed signals here does it break hide or not?
  19. I keep reading bad comments about smoke flash's accuracy animation time and radius. However in Mids' I see a sizeable accuracy bonus of 30% compared to what people say is a penalty of 20%. The radius at 20 is not huge but it's not small either and the activation time is under 2 seconds... so the question is: has this power changed significantly and is it better now or is it still next to useless?

P.S. I've also read it breaks hide... is that true?
  20. QR (late, tired, just want to make a quick suggestion)

What about changing the PToDs to a supression-style thing like in PvP?
  21. The said item could only allow you to access the bins to which you have permission in the first place, I'm sure that's perfectly possible (if the original idea is, of course).

This attack is especially useful when fighting machines (like clock work) since they are highly resistant to your psy damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well... actually... you chose the worst example since clockworks are VULNERABLE to psy damage.

    From paragon wiki:

    [ QUOTE ]
Clockwork Minions are weak, and vulnerable to most damage. They are, however, resistant to Lethal damage and Disorient, and are very vulnerable to Psionic damage, Sleep and Knockback.

Though I'm pretty sure you must be right about the other REAL robots
  23. so O2 boost would not be affected for example?
  24. that actually looks very useful I think I will try this... thanks
  25. The thread I have posted contains the exact information that the OP required.

It is certainly more constructive than saying "bind fly to the F key"
