  2. I think the FoW bug is just a symptom of a much larger problem.

    Problems I've noticed with zone maps.
    FoW is completely screwed up. I do not have a single character where this is working correctly, or even predictably. The only time I can be sure of what I'm going to get is if I only play a single character I will get the map I logged off with.... but only most of the time. Sometimes it still goes black.

    Every time I zone into a map with my contact on it the contact is automatically deselected.

    When I zone into a map where my mission the way point and compass indicator usually takes at lest 30 seconds to appear, sometimes a lot longer, sometimes it NEVER appears and I must open my mini-map, unselected the mission door and reselect it.

    I be willing to be that this has something to do with the incarnate delay as well. Log into a mission of zone into a map and it can take some time for your incarnate abilities to be usable. I have even had it happen once that I had to re-zone because my incarnate powers never became usable.

    My opinion, this is the buggiest piece of release I have ever seen and someone should get a boot up their ***.

    I did not test the spawn size, but after reading this thread I tested the Level and it dd not pay attention to me setting it at either -1 or +1 on level.

    and while I'm here....

    Villain side... does anyone else have the timer of the last mission start ticking town before the cut scene starts? Happens to me every time and it is complete impossible for me to get out in what remains when the cut scene ends. They may as well just do away with the timer for me and kill me when the cut scene ends. Maybe it would be a little less frustrating.
  4. Yes, just walk up to him. My guess is that they removed the auto add on the contact because not everyone will be able to do the arc. You must have the ability to use the invention system to actually complete it.
  5. Blue side, Freak Olympics, level 24 to 29, 34 merits. and you can run through it fairly quick with the right character.

    I don't have builds for exemplarin to any level. I just take my 50's and deal with it and I do not turn my difficulty down...

    By the way, the new story completely ignores your difficulty settings so that wouldn't matter anyway.

    I'd like them in Ouro myself, but I've seen it requested off and on for a very long time with no response. With this at least we'd need to work for it and I'd prefer this to trying to get them by either begging/paying/praying for a lower level team to get on for them.
  8. I know what you're thinking... but this is not another suggestion to add safeguard and mayhem missions to Ouroboros.

    Has this ever been suggested?

    What if, at level 50, instead of always getting Peregrine Island you got a random mission that was made for level 50. This would mean that they'd need to create 8 more of these missions with new enemies so level 50's are not fighting low level enemies, but the maps are already there and they'd just have to swap out the enemies and the level range. Don't know if that's possible or not really.

    So you could get any zone, Atlas to Peregrine with different enemy groups.

    This would not only give players the chance to get those missing badges but it would also make them a bit more interesting.

    It's a villain only bug

    I did the entire arc in 15 minutes or less, including travel time. OCD would not allow me to leave him in my active contacts till they fixed the bug

    It most definitely is not fixed yet. I created a new character yesterday and then logged in with an older character and found all my maps black again. I haven't a clue if that had anything to do with it, but I do know that I'm tired of black maps.

    As far as things staying ticked in options, this also seems to get reset to the defaults by something, don't know if that had anything to do with making a new character or not either, but I have to set options on the map on a regular basis to make them what I wan/

    That's better than what I got on a safeguard mission yesterday. I opened the map to click on the back so I could find my way to it and got "Map Not Available". These map issues on mayhem and safeguard missions really need to get fixed because you really do need the map in working order to get them done.

    I agree with that as well. Even if I had reveal I would never use it on mission maps. The black parts tell me where I haven't been for those occasions where I've missed something and need an idea of where to look for it.

    But on zone maps, FoW is just annoying and a pain in the *** with no real purpose other than to be annoying and a pain in the ***.

    Removing it would ensure that it cannot be broken again, because it gets broken with every major update (i.e. new issue)
  13. My opinion is that they should just remove this feature from zone maps. How much work is it to clear the maps in the Shadow Shard for example. Now, when they finally get this fixed I need to go back and do it all again.

    Or right now I'm doing a mission where I have to defeat x of y in some tiny little neighborhood. I haven't got a clue where the neighborhood is because the map was cleared again and now I have to spend my time exploring the map till I find that stupid little neighborhood again. I'm seriously thinking of not playing till they get it fixed or remove it because I honestly find this one of the most fruxtrating bugs I've encountered.
  14. My maps do not go dark when I zone, nor does it appear to be some limit of maps. All of my zone maps for all of my characters have gone dark. There also seems to be something to do with time, or with logging out for some time. If I log out and right back in, the parts I have cleared again on all maps stay cleared. If I log out for several hours when I return with that character all, no some, but all of that characters zone maps are dark again.

    Fog of War

    At first I thought it was just because it was a new issue or some new zone map...... but every single time I log out and back in all my zone maps for all my characters return to black, are covered with fog of war, or whatever you want to call it.

    Edit: It seems it is not every time I log out an in, it appears to happen each time I exit the game and restart. I just happened to notice when I logged with my first character today and when I checked all the characters I played yesterday all of their zone maps were black.

    I click, pull down and when I release the mouse button it pops back to the top. I think that is what those of us having a problem are saying. The scroll does not stay at the bottom so that we can actually click on one of the servers that are down there at the bottom of the list.

  18. If the last two server publishes are any indication of what to expect in the future, the servers won't really be up until 4 to 6 hours after they are supposed to be except for maybe intermittently.
  19. Caleb will never de-spawn. Once you get the message that he has spawned he will be in Nerva until 1) Someone defeats him or 2) The server is reset. So, if you get the message and don't find him, you do not need to go back and kill more ghosts. If you kill ghosts all day and do not get the message it means he was already there in the first place.

    When hunting Caleb after he spawns, set up a bind or macro to target the ghosts that are following him (assuming that no one has already take out all the ghosts) and don't try to target Caleb himself. He moves too quickly and has too much stealth for him to stay targeted unless you happen to be almost on top of him. So target a Spectral Daemon. You can follow them until you get close enough to Caleb to maintain a target and follow him instead.

    I've never done Scirocco's patron arc.... reminder to self, do not do Scirocco's patron arc unless I wanna end up with a whale of a headache...

    Mission Migraine

    Don't know if this causes a problem for anyone else, this is the first time I've ever tried this mission.

    Tip - A Long Line of Spirits
    Villain Mission - Plunder the Ether Plane!

    I did not get halfway through this map before my eyes started hurting with the onset of one helluva migraine headache. Very little as far as graphics bothers me in this game. This is one mission I personally will never do again.

    It isn't that I don't care about the story. The simple fact is that with a team of 8 level sifted and slotted incarnates the level 50 task forces have become ridiculously easy. I'm not saying that every task force should be allowed. But I do think that the level 50 TF and Trials should allow for smaller team sizes and allow the difficulty settings to be effective. I also think this should be something that is only available to incarnate characters, meaning that you have to have certain slots unlocked before you can get these options.

    These TFs are only going to get easier and quite frankly, I need something else, other than grinding the same few trials a million times, to do. I want to play my level 50 characters and I personally don't get off on doing the same few missions until I puke, but I still need some type of a challenge.
  24. Speaking of doing TFs solo. I was doing the Tera Volta trial the other night and with everyone having +1 Incarnate with all the other incarnate powers slotted with something I found the reactor to be extremely ridiculous. I mean it's usually boring as all heck, but when the first character to the mob basically takes them all out before anyone else can react at all, well, the standing around doing nothing time got multiplied by 8.

    Anyway, I was thinking, while sitting bored in front of my computer, it would be really nice if incarnates could start any task force with any number of team mates, including solo, and that the difficulty settings of the leader would be effective for all task forces because I'd really like to try that at +1/*8 solo.... that is, without begging other players to help me start it and then drop the TF.

    Nope.

    Too time consuming. The rewards are not significantly improved (at least not that I've seen) for the time involved and this time will never be significantly improved due to the requirements of the trial and too many deaths with the unresistible 50% (or more) damage and other trick powers that we can do nothing to avoid.

    I find this trial designed like some of the new missions lately, to see how many time you can be sent to the hosp, with very little other purpose but to give you the feeling of complete frustration and uselessness.

    I did not feel this way about the other two trials, not even the first time I did them.

    Once in a while, for a change of pace, or for an extra E-Merit for the day. But I'd personally rather do something else than yet another grindy trial for a change and I don't need E-Merits that badly.

    Personally, I'd rather do a Doc Quarterfield. I don't get the chance very often.
