Something similar happened to me a few months back and what I did was restart the PC and held the ctrl-alt-delete combo to bring up the task manager. As soon as it popped open I was able to stop the virus process from booting up all the way in the services tab. This let me get to the desktop and run the malware and anti-virus programs I use and clean my system out. Give this a try.

I don't flip them but just flat out sell them. I have made some serious bankage from those new level shift inspirations that get rewarded at the end of a trial.

Actually, an idea getting a lot of buzz is to have an "Incarnate Level" setting in the TF difficulty setting for certain Level 50 TFs. It would set all the foes to level 54, disable Temp Powers (the same ones on iTrials) and allow for Incarnate Threads to drop... and why not throw a few Astral Merits on completion. -
Build yourself the pc and use the guide father x-mas posted. I did 2 years ago and for my first time ever building a pc it was a piece of cake and the total cost was just under $850 due to me changing out a few parts. System runs ultramode just fine and I have not had one problem yet with parts. Follow Father X-mas advice and you wont be disappointed.

This morning I could not get any league Q to work for me. Wait time was less than 1 minute and nothing every happened. When I finally did get into one I got some message about league failing to enter trial and was put back into the Q. Has been like this all morning so far so I ended up running an ITF and converted shards into threads.

Yup.....checked on them and they are all below lvl 30 so it was just me having a brain fart cause I have not rolled any new heroes in a long long time.

So I bought the new animal pack and made some new heroes. Logged in a regular hero and went to change an option on their aura and now the standard ones are gone and all I have access to are the animal ones and the new wisp ones. No smoke, fire, electricity, fog.....no nothing. Is this a known issue. Gonna check on a few other heroes tonite and if so gonna bug it in game. Anyone else running into this issue ???

Wow, thank you Hyperstrike, you gave me a lot to think about.
I've been learning more about the Ultra Mode settings in re-reading je_saist's guide (for the fifth time in two weeks). From the screenshots and info there, it looks like maxing out all the settings is not needed, or even desired.
Mostly I wanted to be able to crank up all the settings without stretching the system because, in theory, then the system would hold up better and longer to the future City Of Hero graphic updates.
But I've come to the conclusion that if I can even get a computer to last three years I'll be lucky. That's how old my last computer was, and, now that I really think about it, the average life span of those before it, too.
So instead of building a leave-everything-in-the-dust computer, I think I'll be a touch more reserved and aim for a box in the ballpark of $1200 US, using the remainder towards another box in three years.
For the next three years the MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC 1GB will be my choice. (Yes, it is partly because if I start second guessing that decision now, I'll be lucky to have a new computer by 2012.)
Enough rambling!
Thank you again, everyone! I'm going to combine these new thoughts with what I looked up last night and next tackle the motherboard/CPU.
I humbly request your further input, especially as I'm treading deep water without swimming lessons on this next part. Will you please continue guiding me with your wisdom? -
Could it be a heat related issue ???? Same thing happened to me a few years back before I knew anything about PC's. Turned out it was a bunch of dust bunnies hiding in the computer case. A good cleaning solved the problem.

Hey All. Need some help from all the techies out there regarding a gaming laptop. I need to know what is the minimum graphic card required to run CoH without ultra mode or all those fancy settings. I am getting a laptop soon and I want to be able to play the game while I am out doing business trips and what not. All the info I find online is somewhat confusing when it comes to laptop graphic cards so any help in this department would be nice. Thanks.

Been playing since release and it has always been that way for me. At least a group of 5 with at least 1 spirit or 1 sorcerer or both. Just did it the other night on a new pistols blaster. It actually used to be tougher back in the day before IO's came out. Back then you just had training enhancers and now by lvl 20 you can have generic IO's so you pack more of a punch.

So I am finally in the market for my first laptop and I want to get one that can run CoH on its basic settings as I am not to worried about running ultra mode on a laptop. I am not familiar with the pc components in laptop systems like I am with desktop systems so I was wondering what is the minimum graphic card I can get away with on a laptop to be able to run the game decently. Ram, hard-drives, cd drive, etc I am good on and know what to look for just need advice in the integrated video card dept. Thanks.

So, should I just get any old 4GB of DDR2800 RAM and hope for the best ??? Not sure on this one. Gonna do more research as well.

So I am thinking of adding more RAM to my system and I have a compatibility question. I currently have 4GB of 240 Pin DDR2800 - PC26400 SDRAM installed on my system running Win 7 64bit. It runs at 5-5-5-12 and 1.9V to 2.1V. It was made by A-Data and has been solid since I got it with no problems with it what so ever. My problem is that this RAM is no longer available. Looking at NewEgg they have many 2 x 2GB RAM module packs to choose from. However none of them show them to run at 5-5-5-12. The closet I can see is 5-5-5-15. Does that matter ??? Does it have to be the same ??? Do I just need to bust out for 8GB of RAM to make sure there are no problems ??? I know you can go into the BIOS and change that or something but I don't like going there. Any info and or advice on this would be awesome. Thanks.

I have a GTS 250 and so far no issues that I can see. Framerates stayed the same for me. At least I don't have that annoying red message saying my drivers are out of date anymore.

I have my first slot filled with the muscular one for damage on my lvl 50 blaster. How do I know I am getting the 33% percent bonus on all my powers that deal damage ??? I really can't tell the difference between having it unlocked and slotted and before as my damage output seems the same. Not a number cruncher here so a basic explanation will do and maybe advice as to where to look to see where the bonus is being applied. Thanks.

As the title says, did they remove the set bonus list you get from the player info screen. Just checked and now it's gone. I liked looking at my bonuses. I miss seeing them. I want the bonus list back. That is all.

Look up the guide Father X-Mas has on computer parts. I followed his lower end build/advice and put together a system for $850 that runs anything I throw at it with no problems what so ever.

What is their purpose ??? I know I get them after doing a tip mission but the next day when I log on there gone due to the 20 hour limit cause my play time is very limited. Do they offer extra rewards or something ??? Can't seem to figure this out or exactly what they are for or do. Let me know. Thanks.
