Fix for LAG/FPS issues

After the last patch I started having sporatic lag/fps problems, mainly on my MM's but was noticeable on all my toons. I tried updating drivers, reduce graphic settings, even reinstalled CoH twice. there would be some improvement but it wouldn't last long. I talked to everyone I knew and we had no luck. THEN I noticed that a friend of mine could log in on her account on my computer and there was NO LAG at all. nada, zip, zero.

Finally broke down and called tech support and I wasn't the first person to call about this. It seems that after the last patch, somehow the "Combat" tab in chat is causing major problems. He told me just to delete that tab and I would be just fine. and what do ya know ? it worked! on my MMs i delete the pet combat chat too. I was told that this has been happening quite a bit and that the issue would be upgraded. Also note that I have "Log Chat" enabled.

So if your rig is lagging, delete the "Combat" tab from your chat box to fix it, at least for now.

That's pretty likely. What with the Trials going on, the server might have issues sending all the combat notifications properly.

I tried that on a few toons and I'm not actually seeing any difference. For me its not just a MM. Its all characters, my log in screen and my character creator pages. I know its not my graphics card, nor my connection as all other games that are more demanding work fine.
