  1. I only have one stalker, NRG/NRG - no epics. Was fun in pvp early on, since all the changes, not so much, but in pve, other than AV's I'm pretty much untouchable.
  2. lol, I was on yesterday at the right time and only just realized I was a day off.
  3. I'd be game to join this:

    Have a level 50 Stalker: NRG/NRG

    -------------------------
Guess not enough, maybe next time.

Yeah, they should definitely add in the ability for us to do all that stuff I just said above.

    Oh, wait...
As my friend below asks, what does it take to do all that? But to further his point versus yours, what do you have to do to have a nice looking base? Spend hours stacking this or that, to create walls and floors that aren't already available and risk corruption when you've stacked too many things in your base.

How many IO's can you craft before the effort becomes pointless. If you just craft for yourself, how often do you really need to craft?

Oh, the market, well, how much Infamy/Influence does a hero really need before there is no point but to go into the RMT business by yourself?

AE Missions, again, nice idea, but again, the point becomes why bother. Most of the maps get overused. Stories by my friends are one thing, but to be honest, there is often no real reason to go through the stories of everyone else. Most of the in-game stories ceased to be about the story, but about my zipping through everything defeat boss, or click glowie, fight Mob X and maybe Y, end mission. I've done every single mission villain side at least once, and can't say that the stories are all that different. Just a difference in Mobs most of the time. I love the idea of the AE system, but to be honest, I became discouraged after one of my favorite items, Badges were taken out. Those gave me reason to try other peoples stories, help someone get a badge, and then others saw it as a reason to target others so that they couldn't get the badge. Now, unless it is someone I know, no real reason to do AE mission, except for farming.

    More gameplay mechanics please.
Gameplay mechanics are never that easy to create and get to function as dreamed up. And as Arcana has said, you can't make everyone happy when you do try to do that.

For me: I would personally be happy if they took all their existing systems and extras, "Costumes", "AE", "SG Bases", "IO's", etc, and made an issue that expanded or tweaked all of these in some manner. Maybe added a handful of pieces, just a few walls and floors for use in the bases, a few new recipe costume pieces, and they could even design a costume piece recipe formula that used "Candy Canes" as well as other invention salvage for next years event. (Now whether that idea would actually work is another entity altogether.) Maybe add some new AE only maps.

Something along these lines to expand what we already have. After all, we've got the same costume piece recipes since they were introduced without any new ones being added.

I'll take a look at GR when it does arrive, but at this time, I'm not hopeful. I'm one of those, no matter how many flavors they add to the Ice Cream list, I'll always go with Chocolate. I don't need a new flavor, I need more of the flavor I already like.
  5. I am a non-emp fender - who's got AE crutches.

    O.o
  6. 1) Being able to place items actually in the doorways. - multi-level pathways between rooms aren't possible without this.
    2) Multiple types of Floor/Wall pieces. Fully skinned on all sides.
    3) Doorways to be scripted so that you can place doorways next to one another if you want.
  7. Kewl, they just announced in game events for CBT6.

    Can't wait to see em.
  8. Geez. Go figure on that one. Well, only serves to give me the boot out the door as far as I'm concerned. If they want me to go that bad, they don't have to shove.
  9. [QR] I've been looking for another game for awhile, but nothing really held my interest. Aion isn't exactly what I want, but there are far worse choices out there and I think I can enjoy it for a while. Not thrilled with the skill design, but then a fully usable 3D skill setup isn't the norm for games these days.

But COH no longer holds the torch for me it once did, so I figure now is the time. My account will still be active up to next April, but other than day job switching or the rare SG team up, not likely to be on. Even 2x Exp isn't enough to make me miss the next Aion beta test.

I've enjoyed playing my Elyos Mage and got him to 8.5 and before that played Asmodian Scout long enough to get her to Ranger and a little beyond. Kinda disappointed that Scout doesn't have ranged options before becoming a Ranger. Basically the scout is a mini-assassin until you get the choice to become the Ranger or a full-assassin. Seems kinda weird to me, but other than that have enjoyed it so far.

    Can't wait until next beta.
  10. [QR] Used to be my NRG/NRG Stalker, but that was mostly for farming RV. But since I got my Huntsman build SOA to 50, I tend to play him more often, which is good, my stalker needs those day job badges.
  11. [QR] I received an "Error Lost Connection to Server please retry" screen, and did so.

Then got sent to main store screen with "An error has occurred. Please try again. If this problem persists, please contact support@ncsoft.com"

And discovered I had been charged for two booster packs.

    Awaiting response from NCSoft.
  12. Dear Matt “Positron” Miller,

First, I'd like to thank you for a wonderful birthday present, as I was able to spend this time with my SG friends in game. I am reminded by how much I did enjoy playing with them.

However, I regretfully inform you that I will not be re-subscribing at this time. I didn't leave over PvP issues and unfortunately changing those systems have minimal impact on me.

And while I have many alts, I have one main character and frankly with over 3000 hrs on him, only really want to play him. With no level 50+ content (other than farming - whether it be farming RV, farming Merits, farming whatever and we all know your view on farming), and a weak base design system (and while that is "supposedly" being re-vamped, your silence over that whole issue is deafening).

I know that even with added content it can go by fast. And I for one do enjoy the co-op zones since most of my SG plays hero-side while I'm primary the other side. I'd like to see more 'low-level' co-op even if I had to suffer a "level cap" like the low-level pvp zones. Unfortunately, while the villain-side is more streamlined and nice, from my POV its too streamlined. There is not enough variation, and blue-side has the nice variation, but too much attempt was made to force the "exploration" of it.

I'm hoping that at some point we can enjoy a more middle ground of the two. But having run through all the story arcs multiple times really takes the enjoyment away from the game.

But I'd like to finish off with the following:

After having played COH, I will honestly say that unless a game offers at the minimum the same level of character creation customization (and preferrably more) with a follow-up of more detailed character progression customization, whether it be in appearance or in "bases" or "houses" or in "stats & power choices", I can promise that I won't find that game appealing.

You have set the bar for me in terms of what I will accept as a basis for any future game I play.

I will constantly return to see what features are coming for each issue and hopefully find what I'm looking for to return to the game on a regular basis.

    Take Kaer,
    HR
  13. [QR] Gratz on the Home and Welcome Back
  14. [QR] Well, for me, I really find myself as an exception, in PvE combat, I perform exceptionally well, While in PvP its basically Energy Melee that carries me through.

I agree that it does require more than say Stone to soft cap, but that it is possible and that support powers like Energy Drain really help. I find that Energy Protection and Dampening field while appropriate has extremely limited usefulness for Brutes.

Outside of those two options, I can't say that Energy Aura needs much more.
  15. [QR] I had the item heights page bookmarked, however, it seems to have been removed during last forum maintenance.
  16. [ QUOTE ]

The "Hover" was added to make TP viable as a PVE travel power -- removing it is not really an option. Suppressing the Fly attribute if near ground may be viable, I'll investigate that. Changing how far you can teleport is a UI nightmare, and unlikely to be changeable in a fashion that would meet PVP needs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Castle,

Would it be possible to include in the existing UI how far the teleport "rings" actually are, so that we could determine how far we are going to teleport. Thus if we wanted to change the distance, all we'd really need to do is move the rings where we wanted them.
  17. [QR] Well, considering they didn't add it to the "Issue 12" part of the announcements which is where I went to look for the information, figure it must be a joke. However, I'm all for it, since I play the game with sounds off anyway.
  18. I agree, damage types by origin, so someone could have a weakness versus Magic and anyone of magic origin could actually do more damage / hit easier etc. But that isn't how it was designed. So Be It.

I'm finding that last statement a surprise, I haven't done anything with an SO other than sell it since IO's came out.

Prior to IO's, I still never used TO's or DO's (except early on in my first couple of months before I came to understand the system.)

SO's as a reward isn't a reward. Just give me the 10K and send me on my way.
  19. I love the concept of expanding upon a group in the COX Mythology such as they are doing here.

However, I am a bit put off by the whole, this hero group needs both heroes and villains to help.

And a little concerned that this new Level 1-10 Content appears to be hero-only.

I'd find a "rogue mystical group" or "lone dark archmage" heretofore unmentioned except in shadowy whispers. Recruits various villains for jobs that while yielding specific rewards for the villainous characters, have "uncertain" and "mysterious" results that don't necessarily benefit them, but achieve this "groups" goals whatever they may really be.

This could lead to similar missions, with slightly different twists, such as done with Ouroboros. This would also open the possibility of expanding the villain-side content without necessarily requiring the "same" zone for heroes.

To be frank, I'm getting tired of only having Mercy to go through for my first five levels, and Port Oakes for the next five. I'd really enjoy more content that while it may parallel the hero side, is for villains. If I thought is was as easy as a copy / paste, I outright storm NCSoft demanding it. But since very little is as easy as what we'd like, I'm hoping is that Positron and NCSoft as a whole will take this idea into consideration for future issues.

But I'm looking forward to seeing the "Midnight Club". Would have been nice to have a screenshot of that in the announcement.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

No Attribute Points: In hindsight, I don't know how I failed to notice they were missing. But I never felt they added anything to the other games; they were one more way to accidentally gimp your character by not making the right choices. Attribute points are a hold-over from the earliest primitive editions of D&D, where every character had more or less the same armor and weapons and where your attribute points were the only customization there were. Where you got the guts to drop them completely from this design, and how you stuck to your guns when NCsoft management almost has to have leaned on you to put them in? I have no idea. But thank you for the courage. You removed some highly unnecessary complexity.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just wanted to say: As a DIE-HARD CHAMPIONS gamer, I loved my stats and wish this game had them.

But overall agree with your sentiments on the whole, it has made the game easier ..... checks typed resistances and positional defenses and accuracy and recharge .... oh wait, regeneration and recovery and runs off to read Arcanaville's defense post for the umpteenth time.
  21. I feel if we go with the Unity Idea:

5th Column and Council = Reformed

Much like the poster above me says.

Only thing I'm certain of is that the 5th Column returns, how was the question and time travel would do it.
  22. I do see one problem on that Siren's Call power. It would be mostly gone by the time you got to RV.

Build Up + Total Focus + Energy Transfer + Bone Smasher (This combo can only be done in Warburg or RV.

Break Frees - in order to use these, you'd have to pop them as soon as I was spotted and not launch an attack. Typical response is to attack first pop break free after the attack. If all I need to take a particular Blaster down is the first two (TF and ET) then odds are against him getting a BF off in time to hit a green or pop a heal. Even if he had enough health bonuses that a Bone Smasher is needed, he'd need a good bind or just be quick enough to manage that. Most don't survive. At least not most of those I've gone up against on Guardian.
  23. Energy Melee Stalkers can two / three hit kill you. And without better Stun protection, you will just be bait.

Build Up + Total Focus + Energy Transfer + Bone Smasher (if needed) will take down most Blasters.
