Prices -do- drop during the night, often significantly; I suspect it has something to do with the whole US-EU market sharing thing.

    What's that thing? Explain please.

The wolf might be ok, but not the monkey

You're right. Giant monkeys should only be in the 1930s b/w damsel-in-distress (medieval?) airplane attack zone.

No flaming req., just letting this out. lol.

I love enhancing my toons as much as the next man(or lady) but i refuse to pay upwards of 50, 60, 70 mil inf for 1 recipe. I'm sorry. (purples that is)

Orange ones are beginning to get on my nerves too at 20 mil per.

Sorry, had to let that out. Flame is you don't know what else to do. Just my opinions.

I do think flippers hurt the price. It's like price gouging that we felt with the gas a year or 2 ago. There's limited supply so someone with enough inf CAN determine the prices. I go buy the 1 available and resell. I can even buy that 1 and resell it again with ANOTHER set price. Now, the AVERAGE price continues to rise because people see what they have been sold at.

When you see a price, do you immediately feel it's what you must pay? Because someone else might do so, why should you?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I feel that ONE of the key determining factors here is that of inventory. This is not like the true market where people have to put food in their familys' mouthes. The ability to generate inventory space from nothing and the ability to retain items on the market indefinitely (by simply having the character place the item on the market and then leaving it - a "take it or leave it" pricetag, with no bartering) means that the seller is never in a difficult position. There is no real urgency to make that sale.

The weight of time is on the seller's side, and if the buyer doesn't want to afford it, the item will remain expensive forever.
  4. Turn them off.

What I advocate is for *some* maps to disable travel powers. I see only one problem:

    1) Teams like to blitz through maps (for some reason - savour the moment, kids!) and get frustrated when they are difficult to navigate.

Take for example the CoT Orangbega maps with the "teleport up and down" portals. You never see entire teams using these optional portals, rather they use "flight" and "super-jump" powers to avoid them.

I'm of the opinion that disabling *only* travel powers in certain map types (perhaps a new map type where some kind of "selective kryptonite" thing is in effect) would result in more strategical use of the maps, imagine if you had to walk across those rope bridges instead of flying by. It'd be a more cautious approach when you consider how far down it is. It would be a nice change of pace and give an alternate playstyle to the blitzing - variety.

I know the people in closed beta already know, but it's so frustrating* not knowing which maps are going to be included at launch

I'm hoping for the floating island map from the scirrocco arc or the clockwork king warehouse one from the synapse TF

*The above comment could be construde as an understatement!

According to previously released information, ALL maps currently in the game will be available for the MA to use, totaling approx 1000 maps in all.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yup - that's what has been said before. However iirc there was also talk about some extras in MA needing unlocking (possibly be MA badges?) so I guess it's possible that all wil be available, but not everyone will have access to all from the very start.

AFAIK the MA unlockables haven't been mentioned in ages - so for all I know the idea didn't make it to beta.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well it doesn't seem to make much sense. I mean.. do you lock the map until the PLAYERS have the specific badge, or the creator of the mission has the specific badge (or both)? While I'm a big fan of unlockable stuff and a bit of exclusivity, in this particular case it seems a bit of a crappy idea.

if they are still saying that INF isnt money why let you trade it...

Inf is money. Otherwise it would be a measure of good and bad deeds, reflected in the reaction of the populace, but no - it's just money. $$$

    Vilianside Maps

Villainside didn't have to be dour. You see that arachnos has nice clean, posh, well designed decor/equipment, so it didn't have to be all miserable. I suppose that's where they pick up their 'cruits though - the disaffected, miserable and angry.

The old "wealthy hero, poor villain" stereotype.
  8. Thanks for the info, guys! That's all I need to bin that [censored].

I wasn't aware of the "Magnitude" mechanic.

I found this on the wiki, but it's somewhat incomplete...

Is there any more solid info?

    Contacts

I like contacts, it's cool to have somewhere to sell junk when I'm out and about... so I think there's positives to doing contact arcs. BUT...

    1) I hate when arcs end before I've filled their bar.

    2) I want to be able to aim for specific contacts, so I have those places to sell stuff/buy insps in the handiest of locations.

    3) I don't see much point in them other than this. A lot of the time I'm avoiding them via TFs, Trials and Bank Missions. I could do most of the game with no contacts at all!

I also believe that contacts could play a much more interesting role by taking a more active part in storylines (perhaps as victims, or NPC sidekicks) - I know that more recent issues have done this - Fusionette and Percy Winkley, for examples.

What do you think? How can contacts be used better?
  10. I have this and it never procs (it's down as a 10% chance to disorient).

    Have you experienced the same?

    Is this bugged?
  11. If I have a taunt slotted with a psi dam proc on my taunt say it's level 50 and my Ouroboros mish is level 20, does my proc get scaled down in intensity somehow or just not work at all?

Is there a page where I can read about this mysterious issue, please?
  12. I'd say that these one timer abilities are fatal. They end up getting you killed because there's barely any warning before the crash. I don't count a tiny icon blinking where there's usually several others blinking anyway as much of a warning, sorry.

When you're in the mindset to tank, you don't tend to be watching your buffs, but rather trying to catch untagged mobs and stay ahead of the other team members. Thus sudden crashes when you've just pulled can be quite upsetting.

(As you already know, teams don't understand when you tell them to "wait" and will quite often just go around pulling in the expectation that you will grab the aggro off the weaklings. When this doesn't happen because you're dealing with a crash, they consider you to be a rubbish tanker)

    Screenshot Binds

Can we have it so that we can bind screenshots-without-the-interface to a different key to screenshots-WITH-the-interface

    OR

Have the client feed back (in the text box) which mode the screenshot button is currently in (when switching modes).
  14. Why are there so many melee powers in blaster secondaries? It seems as though Cryptic couldn't think of anything else when they invented the sets.... or maybe they expected more people to play blappers?
  15. There should be a bightness button on your monitor which allows you to adjust (perhaps surprisingly) the brightness of the screen.

  17. I wonder when i14 will come out. Apparently i15 is due late in April (on the 5th anniversary) so that leaves very little time to knock out i14.

Maybe 15 will be postponed from the anniversary date itself?

But we already have a set that's essentially the same as the first (Electric Melee)

I get it, and I really am not arguing here, I just wanted to say... electrical isn't the same as storm at all.

Anyway, we're NOT hijacking this thread, it's about the wonderful wacky world of psionic melee (Whatever that is!?).

    Influence

At super low level the fastest way is to look on Wentworths for level 50 recipes that not many people want and bid 100-1000 on them depending how quickly you need the cash. Then go sell them at a shop for around 5000 each. Easy money at low level.

I have my new toon bidding on about 50 as we speak. That's 250,000 from an outlay of 5000. 245,000 profit. And you only need to bid on 1 to get the ball rolling, an initial outlay of just 100.

The only downside is finding a Wentworths close to a merchant (hint: Kings Row).
