  1. I've been trying to design a battle suit wearing character. He's a shield SS tank. He's awesome.

    The current costume has undergone a lot of changes over time. From a really basic tech wired costume to the combination of tech, cyborg and rocket boots that he is today.

    So now, I'm asking if you guys could help me out with making his main costume. The only constraints are that it has to use the round shield model, and it has to have rocket boots. black and red are what I use atm but feel free to have some fun with that. Thank you so much whoever has a crack at this!
  2. You'd of said the same thing about combos though.

    I think this is a fantastic idea and I really hope the devs take something from it. If not this exact idea then at least they continue adding power sets with interesting quirks like this.

  5. So firespray your logic is that the legit players should move to a whole other zone and missout on story arcs and missions all because the farmers don't want to move zones? When essentially moving to galaxy would have 0 effect n farmers.

    My sugestion, instance the AE and block it from zone Bradcast. For all zones.

    Issues 1-14 were expansions yes. But Rogue is a paid expansion, it's totally different. The last time they did this we got a whole new game in it's own right.
    Market Merging and inspiration trading have little to do with any of this. The Devs have said we'll be getting side switching. Yes there will be restrictions on it but thy wouldn't say that and then just throw us another co-op zone. It would be a PR nightmare.

  11. Not bad ideas. I'd like to add one.

    For the love of god let everyone be able to talk to the contact and view the mission text. Whats the point in having a story if half the team misses it. Not that enough people really use the AE for stories.

    Great concept is important, I imagine thats why you picked the powers you picked, not for their effects but for their concept. So you'd pick origin for the same reason and live with the consequences. I really do not understand how this is even an issue it's like you guys are just opposed to new things being added to the game. Maybe you guys should just go play WoW. That way you can have a very clear goal to reach for, and an end game where every character has exactly the same gear or is reaching for the same gear. it might be mroe your style.

    You're not presenting logic or reason you're presenting a bunch of teenagers who's entire argument is "If I can't have everything I don't want anything at all."
  13. In my very first post when I suggested origin powers I specifically said "Nothing game breaking" they wouldn't be defining powers by any means. Just a little bit of added selection to make things more interesting.

    I don't get why you are opposed to new content. Costumes, emotes and stuff are one thing, but i'm talking about the simple addition of a few minor powers just for a bit of flavor.

    Oh also, way to pick up on 1 word and use it to try and derail my far more valid and correct argument.

    Now in conclusion, I reject your theorem and it's accompanying ideas. Your judgment and presumptions make you appear and foolish and unintelligent due to your inability to see that more stuff is a good thing.

  15. If you do the work to create origin flavored powers then make them available to everyone then what was the point in making them at all?

    You say I don't get it, I say it's obvious that you don't get it and you're not even trying to, you're stuck on this notion that nothing could possibly work when tied to an origin. Then why even pick an origin at all, lets just remove them from the game entirely because obviously they serve no purpose and you're not interested in having them serve one.
  16. Why is it a bad idea to have origin based power pools available? Besides you wanting to be able to have everything?

    I've said it once and i'll say it again, by your logic I shouldn't be limited to only choosing blast powers for my blaster. Whats the difference between my Blaster not being able to take Katana Melee and your tech guy not being able to use Mutant origin powers? Personally I don't see a difference and I don't see why anyone would be opposed to this.

    Fact of the matter is Origins need to have a point because at the moment they don't. Origin powers and origin missions taht are available only to those origins are not a abd thing by any means. In fact they would greatly improve the game by adding a new flavor to what is at the moment an overlooked aspect of the game.

    No I wouldn't, but again NO ONE IS SUGGESTING THAT! No ones saying any existing things should be made origin specific. I'm talking about totally new origin based content here.

    Yes it would. but it wouldn't have a big influence on existing ones and it's entirely possible to create a set of powers for each origin that didn't make any of them better then another.

    You're entire argument hinges on players being able to have free reign. Well by your logic I want my Bots/FF MM to be able to throw fire balls.
  19. Captain Freak don't take offense but you're wrong. Theres no way they'd do that, that would mean they outright lied to us about what they're doing. It wouldn't make sense.

    Here's how I envision it.

    Preatoria will indeed be a whole new city like the Rogue Isles and Paragon. Not sure if it'll be a starting area but if it is, yay.

    On each side, villain and hero there will be a new bunch of contacts as well as changing the existing ones to give us side swapping missions to alter our "Morality slider". Then another
    set of contacts that would let you know where you stand, and give you missions designed to get you into the other city and swap sides properly.

    Yes i'm suggesting side switching may actually take mroe then jsut a flip of a switch.

    I'm guessing Preatoria will have a lot more of these missions and will be a new zone accessible fairly early on from both sides. If not a potential starting zone for neutral characters. It will of course be the primary zone of side switching because it'll be an entire city for both sides to find their feet.

    You really think they'd make a new zone and then label it as an expansion? You're way off CF.
  20. Who said anything about limiting options to certain origins? Thats not what he's suggesting at all.

    What we're saying is that making Origins more relevant would be nice, that doesn't mean restricting existing powers or costumes or emotes, not by any means. What we're talking about is more story based. Give more Origin based story arcs, maybe some invention style but not actually invention enhancements to each one. Origin power pools maybe? Thigns like that.

    Nothing game breaking or redefining, just something that would make origins have a choice beyond flavor. As ti stands they're next to useless, it's a waste.

  22. I agree. But there are no current plans to do more work with origins that we know of. There may be a few surprises in going rogue but we can't know for sure.

    What we do know is that the Incarnate Origin is being kept alive in story, that may indicate plans to use it down the track or just that the devs don't want us forgetting about it.

    But Origins totally need some work to become more relevant and something besides just a theme.
  23. Any dev tricks?

    The farming aspects are being removed because they have a negative impact on other areas of the game. AE farms of all kinds were clogging the broadcast channels and taking players from regular missions. It's not as bad now thanks to time and some work by the devs to stop it.

    You may not see farming as negative but farmers usually don't. All farming does is create an environment where new players don't learn to play as well and where a level 50 character doesn't really mean as much as it should. Nor does a really high level badge.

    You say we should try leveling to 50 without and dev tricks? Well i've done a few farm missions with some SG mates I'll admit that. Nothing serious because honestly I found it more fun to play story missions. My last 50 got most of the way there doing contact missions. The rest were team radio missions and SF's. But for the most part stories. And I find that vastly more entertaining then farming.
  24. Acrobatics is good.

    Group fly needs to be replaced, not changed just replaced, it has virtually no use except for a select few MM builds.

    Team teleport needs to be replaced with teleport attack. (Picture your character disappearing like a normal teleport, a series of flashes around the target area, maybe some faded images of your character, then you reappear at the targeted location. The key to this is you don't follow the teleports, it would function just like any other teleport attack, jsut you wouldn't appear at the location the camera locks to right away.

    Acrobatics is fine.

    Whirlwind needs more damage.
