  1. Marketing...

I own a business... I do things with PERC. I know that a successful anything requires people knowing you exist!

"Hey Kevin, you play any online games?"
"Ya, I play City of Heroes."
    *confused look* "What's that?"
    v_v

People know about WoW, even if they never played it. Why? They got Ozzy Osborne and Mr. T to do commercials for them. I'm not saying we need to get The Backstreet Boys to make a supergroup, or some <insert has been actor from the 70s here> to use their old phrase to make our game pumping.

3D printing is ok, if the game you're playing only has like 10 facets for the one character you're playing. However, I'm going to have to... sigh... agree with Castle and say I'd rather see my character's on a poster! Hell maybe even signed by Sexy Jay. People will come into my home, be like... Hey what's that?! And I'll be like those are my characters from the game I play! They will reply, no way! And I can physically get onto my computer and show them.

In-game ads were a great idea, but they fell short like card game (which I'll continue on about below...) If they were based on our IP, then why did I see the same damn hamburger on every ad? I didn't even know where the hamburger was from... It would be nice if in-game ads could be submitted from the player base, like previously stated I'd love the chance to have my business shown ingame, granted its to the players in my area, or I can get a premium package for everyone to see my business.

Card game, why wasn't it successful? Why would I want to play a card game when I could play the real thing?! And if most of my friends are online base give or take a couple people I did manage to get to play the game, what makes you think they'll want to play a card game either? Perhaps if the game was properly done to perhaps more of a board game appeal it would be easier then having to force people to buy booster packs, make our own cards and print them... Ect ect...

Suggestion: I could easily come up with an idea of a board game. PM me and let's talk.

I also agree on the whole ordeal about going to Twitter and Facebook, I shouldn't have to go there when I should just come straight to the site and get the information I need. Hell, PERC doesn't even have a Twitter or Facebook account. It honestly shows desperation that you're using a friend social network to get people to play the game, I can compare it to those dating sites or those bots who try to get you to view their webcam. - Haha!

Suggestion: Scale back on that nonsense!

The whole Dark Respite thing, this is for you Michelle... We want you to have that job because you're a PLAYER, you're not a mindless zombie who probably plays the game once a week to get the materials needs to make the shot... You actually play, and live the content... That's why I think many people of our player base want you to have that job. Not just because of your talent, but because you know what it's like from our side of the mirror (Ooooh Issue 17 take right there.) and will do your best.

I think that's it for now...

  2. P.E.R.C. Presents Mirror, Mirror!
    Saturday, April 24th, 2010 & Sunday, April 25th, 2010 @ in Pocket D.

“Arrived a Dark Mirror has. A vitreous plane upon which to display a fleeting show for man's disillusion given."

P.E.R.C. invites everyone to celebrate the release of Issue 17: Dark Mirror by joining us in taking a glance into the Dark Mirror and seeing what reflection awaits. P.E.R.C. will be hosting a Character Concept Contest where everyone will have the opportunity to show us what your character would look, feel, and act like if it had stepped into the Dark Mirror and arrived in an alternate reality.

Below are the times P.E.R.C. representatives will arrive to judge the entries. Please make note that these are the times that judges will begin judging the event. We advise all contestants to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure they are judged in the event. Late entrants will not be judged.

    Saturday, April, 24th, 2010:
    Infinity: 7:00pm EST
    Victory: 7:45pm EST
    Freedom: 8:30pm EST
    Champion: 9:15pm EST
    Virtue: 10:00pm EST
    Justice: 10:45pm EST

    Sunday, April 25th, 2010:
    Pinnacle: 7:00pm EST
    Liberty: 7:45pm EST
    Triumph: 8:30pm EST
    Protector: 9:15pm EST
    Guardian: 10:00pm EST

    -One Entry Per Server.
    -Heroes & Villains Welcome.
    -No late entries accepted.
-As this is a subjective contest, no member of P.E.R.C. will be permitted to compete.

-A panel of P.E.R.C. Representatives from other servers will be compiled to judge this event. Players are urged to utilize costume choices, weapons customizations, emotes, and auras in building their concept for display.
-Judges will be voting on how best the character is representing themselves in an alternate reality. This includes name, costume, concept, details, etc.
-Players should arrive in their Paragon Universe attire and not reveal their alternate reality form until instructed to by the Event Master of Ceremonies.
-Customized Weapons are allowed. This includes shields, blades, guns, etc. Players are asked to only draw weapons however and not utilize power animations.
-Powers Usage is limited: We understand that i16 has brought with it a variety of power customization opportunities however we have found that powers can effect other players unintentionally and can also diffuse attention away from other character components. We would prefer players limit their use of powers and utilize them for Aura purposes. Examples of powers allowed include but are not limited to Fire Shield, Rock Armor, Personal Force Field, and Invincibility.
-Be very careful in your power choices and avoid overusing multiple powers.
-Powers that effect other players will result in automatic disqualification from the event. Examples include but are not limited to Steamy Mist, Lightning Field, Hotfeet, and Shadowfall.
-Please contact a P.E.R.C. Representative if you have any questions about a specific power.

1st Place: Praetorian Clockwork Costume Code & 60 Million Influence / Infamy
2nd Place: Performance Shifter Chance for + End & 40 Million Influence / Infamy
3rd Place: Choice of Karma or Steadfast -KB IO & 20 Million Influence / Infamy

*Note: Depending on the release schedule for I17 delivery of prizes may be delayed on some servers. This is because P.E.R.C. will be utilizing the the new e-mail system to send influence, infamy, enhancement, and IO prizes to the winners across multiple servers via globals. We hope that winners will not experience any delays but appreciate your patience with this possible issue.

THANK YOU AS ALWAYS FOR SUPPORTING P.E.R.C.!

    Happy birthday.... to... you!

    Happy birthday to... MediPow...

    happy birthday to you!
  4. This happened to me.... Twice.

The first time it destroyed my computer, it literally made it so I could not do anything. Safe mode or not. And to top the cake I lost my original disk, so I had a friend send me another one. Eventually, my mother board was just toast. I didn't have a computer for a really long time, and it drove me insane. I only had my laptop, and that wasn't cutting it. Let's just say I broke out the gameboy color and played Pokemon for awhile.

The second time was after I got my computer fixed, please do not ever go to Staples and have your computer fixed! They will take their sweet @$$ time to do it, and still want you to pay the full bill! Any ways, I was downloading everything that I had reinstall, and I was downloading some music because my original computer had over 2 months playtime worth of music. I think I was downloading some t.a.t.u and I got some Russian Secruity PC AntiVirus Hijacker thing.

Luckily, I was able to get it in time before the same thing happened all over again.

  5. Witchfrost hit many points which I agree with.

We are HERMITS people! We stick to our small hermit communities within our small community. When I refer to this server, I always say it's the hermit server; the person I'm telling this to will go ask: "Hermit server?". I reply; "Yes, we're all a bunch of small groups of hermits, who just play within our groups. God forbid we go outside of our small circles!"

I can't say I was best friends with Storm Angyl, but she was one of those people I remember getting on the game, and she would always send me a tell saying "Hi, do you need a team?" It was warm and homey feeling. I miss that, but I am not new to this game. I have been Healing Phoenix, and other personas for almost 5 years now, (yes I am saying how many years I've been here, not to express how better I could be, but to show I know the changes in our community,) and why should I expect to see that when I can just sign onto my ventrilo server and be greeted by the same people I play with everyday? It's not that I avoid my private tells, I just hardly look at them anymore.

I was never a part of Jello Shooters, it was a channel I was never invited to and frankly never joined. It wasn't based on the people who where on that channel, it was simply because "I stuck to the same group I played with." Why out source myself when I have my friends to play with? Sure, I know many of you from running PERC Events like Kyo, Stale, Bama, Angel Red, Stale JR, and a few more, but it's not like I team with them on a daily basis... I do try and say hello when I can, but why even open my friends list when they're all on my ventrilo?

Like Sooner said, We are Protector!

Now to find a suitable hero planner. Mids doesn't install on Win 7.

Mids installs, but you have to install it in a different place, like Your Documents, rather than where it wants to install. My friend had the same issue.
  7. I personally don't like the Ghouls.

And here is where I think they're from...
    • Ever wondered what happened to the Dr. V extra parts? Looks like it went to the Ghouls.
    • I use to wonder where zombies went, that we defeated during the Zombie Apocalypse.
    • Ever call zombies being on your necro and they didn't come? They were sent to Preatoria to become a Ghoul!

After all those, we get a group called The Ghouls, who have no real visual appeal besides
looking like rehashes of in-game groups. Sure, they get nice leg and wrist bands, but in the end they just look like zombies....

    Sad...

    :'(

Two people can not share the same date. Your vote is now null. Sorry.
  9. I actually had to think about this.. And this is the one I remember...

I was told that if you placed your enhancements together in the slots of your powers it would have more of an effect. Like, if you had 3 dmgs, 2 accs, and 1 recharge... If it was scattered like, 1 dmg, 1 acc, 1 recharge, 1 dmg, 1 acc, and 1 dmg. The dmg value would be less as if they were together. And apart of that, if you placed a certain type of enhancement in the first slot, it would do more than if you placed it an other order.
  10. Ironically, I was having a discussion with the PERC 2nd Chair about how our game is now, and how it was in the past. One thing I brought up was the pets, I missed my army of imps on Healing Phoenix; to me that was just about being a controller. We started discussing "What Ifs?" Like, What if they didn't do a complete nerf to the pets, only allowed them to stay around, but you could have as many spawns as you liked? Think of how many imps you could have. LOL!!! Or if they didn't change it at all, and with IOs, the spawns!

I do miss being able to HOLD groups and bosses without having to keep casting the power on them. I won't say I never liked being PLed by the mass farming with ice/fire tankers and ninjas, I won't say I don't miss it, because in my reality we where gods in those days. A tanker was a tanker, they were "Superman". Now we're just above super powered citizens with anger issues.

I don't miss having -ACC while flying... And then eventually everyone's powerset did -ACC while turned on, and then they just did travel suppression. haha.

I don't miss hover's ridiculous, slower than walk speed.

I do miss the population Protector had, even though it was still considered small in those days.

Above all, I can say I miss the friends I first had when I started the game. They decided to leave the game to pursue other games or real life issues.

    Sigh, now I'm sad....

  11. I think... For all the Protector people... I'll put up TWO Luck of the Gambler +Recharges, as well as the possible time card.

Now this is only for the Protector folks, so it's a separate draw. I might add more things... Never know!

  18. P.E.R.C. Presents The Rikti Global Offensive!
    Saturday, February 27th, 2010
Rikti War Zone Starting @ 12:01PM EST

Vanguard has given the Green Light for a Global Offensive push for twelve (12) hours against the raiding Rikti. P.E.R.C. wants to see how many of the Rikti scum can you send back to their home-world. How does your team compare to the best of the best across all the servers?

On Saturday, February 27th, 2010 starting at 12:01PM (noon) to 12:01AM (midnight) Eastern Standard Time, we want you to run the Lady Grey Task Force (LGTF) with a few stipulations and enter proof of your accomplishments via in-game screenshots. You will be competing amongst the best of the best, across all servers, for a chance to win an in game Gold Title for your entire team in one of several categories. Length of title to be determined by NCsoft and Paragon Studios.

No Enhancements: Complete the LGTF with NO ENHANCEMENTS selected. The team with this selected and the least amount of deaths will earn the title: Resourceful. *Note: In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by the fastest time.

Player De-buffed: Complete the LGTF with PLAYERS UNDER CONSTANT DEBUFF selected. The team with this selected and the least amount of deaths will earn the title: Supersonic. *Note: In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by the fastest time.

NPC’s Buffed: Complete the LGTF with NPC’s BUFFED selected. The team with this selected and the least amount of deaths will earn the title: Unyielding. In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by the fastest time.

Extreme: Complete the LGTF with all of the following selected; NO ENHANCEMENTS, PLAYERS UNDER CONSTANT DEBUFF, and NPC’s BUFFED. The team with this selected and the least amount of deaths will earn the title: THE MOST EXTREME!. *Note: In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by the fastest time.

Mystery Category: all entries will be entered into this category. The team to win this elusive category will earn the title: Mysterious.

1.All screenshots must be submitted no earlier than 12:30pm February, 27th and no later than 12:31AM February, 28th to perc.coh@gmail.com.
2.All screenshots must have the UI (user interface) turned on. Look under Menu>Options>General to check your settings. (It is recommended you take a test shot and make sure you can see the UI)
3.All screenshots must be of the whole screen with the team window and task force completed windows visible.
4.Any alteration to the Screen shot will automatically disqualify it; this includes changing the name of the file on your hard-drive. The game automatically time stamps your screenshots and that is what we will use to determine if your team completed the challenge you enter during our 12(twelve) hour window.
5.Included in the email you must list the Character name, global handle of every member of your team, Team name, and the category you are entering.
6.All teams must select a 2:00 (two) hour time limit and 0 (zero) deaths allowed. This to ensure that every team’s time and death count is properly counted by the game.

    Q. Can I enter more than once?
    A. Players may only enter each category once; however, they may enter another category with another character. For example, Player X enters category 1 with the character Captain Speedy, Player X may enter another category with another character, i.e. Major Minor.
    Q. Can anybody win?
    A. Players names must show on the screenshot within the team window. This means all team members must be level 45 and able to complete the TF. As long as you appear in the screenshot and complete the TF you are eligible.
    Q. How many people can win?
    A. Up to 8 people (given the number of people of the winning team) can win. As this is a cross-server event only ONE team across all servers will win. This means winning teams will NOT be selected PER server; only ONE winning team PER category will win.

For each category a winning team will be selected. Each member of the team will win the Gold Title associated to the specific category.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING P.E.R.C. & FIGHTING THE FIGHT!
