I'm not sure whether to be confused, embarrassed, flattered or furious at being threatened.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'll take flattered and furious for 5,000 infamy please Dante.

Okay, the computer has selected the approach at random, it is: A Mocking Comeback. Your Time Starts Now!

You're threatening the League of Righteous Destroyers? The self-appointed greatest role-players and super-villains in the galaxy!? Ahahahahahahaha! Foolish mortal! We will however adhere to your threat only so as to prove said threat was pointless yet well recieved and flattering that you ought find such a plot so entertaining! Muwhahahahaha-- *cough*--ahahaha--*cough cough*--ahahaaghhgghh. Got a... got a fly stuck in my throat or... hahaha... something... ahahaha... END.
2. [ QUOTE ]
For example should we create a fictional nation for the League to attempt to takeover?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, we definately should.

With the world as it stands today, I will NOT be a part of any group-plot that plans to invade or destabalize a REAL country.

I wanted to find a suitable moment, but now it's been mentioned, I feel that plotting to invade North Korea with Nuclear Weapons or using Chemical Bombs in the Middle East is stomach churning and angers me to no end. I will not use those locations for our games, which are in a state of similar turmoil, unless it is for a seriously good reason, and I can't see any that would be valid enough.

So, seeing as this is only a Role-Playing session, a game where we play evil people with the intent to do terrible nasty things, I cannot tolerate that their targets would be real places and by extension, real people. There's a reason the games are set in the Rogue Isle's and Paragon City and that you can't kill innocent civilians, because it's not okay.

On another note doing such a thing would also break the unwritten rules of immersion. In that real-world political issues would have to be factored into the virtual-world timeline of the City of X games, blurring the timeline for people who want to keep the two worlds seperate and destroying any form of escapism.

The Swordsman landed and turned to face a flurry of hits. As they smashed into his face and chest, his glasses flew away from his face while he was thrown off-balance. The glasses themselve hung in the air only for a few fractions of a second before turning to dust.

Gaining his balance by taking a step backwards The Swordsman withdrew his sword arm behind him and grabbed Edward with his free hand. His eyes lit up not with light, but with a look of envigoration and then with a gentle shove he pushed the two of them apart using an unnatural power which felt like magnetic wind, an invisible force that rapidly propelled them away from one another.

In the confusion The Swordsman dissapeared amongst the shockwave, which rattled the tiles on the Cathedral roof as it moved over them.

Appearing again inside another bubble of air he landed much further along the roof from Edward. The shockwave from his teleportation made a low thudding noise like a distant drum, and he quickly took up a low defensive stance with his blade-edge between himself and his attacker.

He swung the tip of his sword now to point in Edwards direction.

"In my code, a verbal or physical challenge must be met with the defeat of the enemy." he said, then moving his Katana's grip into his centre so as to hold it vertically with both hands.

"I don't want to kill you, but you must Submit!!"

With that he leapt towards Edward, sword held high over his head gleaming in the winters sun, unstoppably set on its deadly path as he flew through the air...

"That's an interesting question, Edward. Have you?" asked the man as he rose to his feet, arching his neck to one side curiously.

The man, in his early thirties, wore dark glasses beneath a mane of black hair and underneath his sleeveless waist-coat he wore a black bow-tie and a golden yellow shirt. On his left breast pocket was the symbol of a Sun in the same yellow colour.

He wore odd shoes beneath his smart black trousers, they seemed to be a sports shoe, constructed from fabric and metal intertwined in such a unique way that gave them the look of a soft alloy.

'Looks like one of the Preists Guardians... I may have to take him down. He certainly seems to be looking for a fight, but I can't reveal my true mission to him, not before I can get to the Preist... I'll begin with rudimentary defense.' he thought.

The unknown man scrubbed his nose with his thumb for a second, and then flicked his wrist out to his side. A full length Katana shot from his shirt sleeve like a sleight of hand magic trick.

He rose his other hand to point a finger at Sword of Redemption and began to speak. "I don't want to have to fight you, and you don't want to fight me Demon... Believe me." he said clearly as if it was fact. "This can still end well. I'm here for Pious Hunter, not you."

"...with fear as our cloak and death as our dagger, we will shape a new order!" added Hatesman, crushing the glass in his bare grip, "The blood of our enemies will run free!" he barked, as crimson wine dripped through his fingers.

The Preist and The Nomad

Sunday the 20th, Early Morning

On the roof of the Moth Cathedral a man in black crouched low, observing the building through brick, tile, stone and mortar he watched the various inhabitants come and go, one in particular he sought most. As his long black hair rustled in the wind, he shifted his weight and knelt back to survey the area.

All around the building, a thin layer of snow dusted the ground as did it lie on the roof-top too, on that cold January morning, the sun glistened from the settled flakes as they gently melted into the new day.

'So many places... so many times... yet I am never ceased to be amazed by snow and the chaos and wonder it brings.' he thought to himself idly.

16th of January, Paragon Herald Offices, Steel Canyon...

"Jack Jones, I'm a Freelance reporter and I have an article for your editor."

"I'm sorry, we're not-" the secretary paused, looking confused at her screen.

"Oh... it turns out... Mister Smithson is free now... You can... go through I guess." when she looked up, the doors leading to the hallway were already swinging, she could just make our the back of the young man as he rushed down the hallway. "Sheesh, a thank you wouldn't hurt..."

---

"Jack Jones, Freelance Reporter, Mister Smithsons I've got a killer story for you to print sir." said the young man enthusiastically.

"What? Who let you in here? Listen kid I'm busy-- But I... suppose it couldn't hurt. Give me that!" he said, snatching the peice of paper from Jack Jones' grip.

"Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm... Garbage! Get out of my office!"

"What? But you need to read it again." the young reporter said, raising his tone a little more.

"You think you're the only Psychic to try to pull that balony on me son? I got a damn inhibitor chip in my head to avoid this kinda thing! Now get out of my office before I call security! Unbelievable-Man is a very good friend of mine you know?"

Jack Jones raised an eyebrow and took off his reflective blue Sun-Glasses, placing them in his top brest pocket.

"Oh so you're going to make me call Security huh?" Smithson waved to the security camera on his wall. "There, you happy now?"

"Heh. I think you're mistaken about a lot of things Mister Smithson... The Article, my intentions... but most of all... Your security members, who are quite subdued until I leave the building." his voice remained calm and unthreatening like that of a monk.

"Aw hell. You're good, alright I'll print the damn story, just don't hurt me!" he paused for a moment and glanced at the only window in his office which over looked Steel Canyon. "UNBELIEVABLE-MAN HELP!" he suddenly yelled, springing to the office window and banging on the glass with a clenched fist.

Without seemingly moving Jones was at Smithsons side. He grabbed his arm and threw him onto his desk with just the right amount of force. "Unbelievable-Man is in the Shadow Shard... I checked and besides, what makes you think I couldn't take him down if he did show up?"

Smithson sighed heavily. "Alright, whatever, I'll do whatever you want."

"Yeah..." spoke Jones in a distorted voice as he moved towards Smithson with a hand outstretched, "...I know." The room faded a neon blue hue as small bolts of energy shot into Smithsons temple lobes.

---

"Leanne!?" came Smithsons voice to the secretaries desk a few minutes later.

"Yes... Mister Smithson...?" she replied wearily.

"Get young Jay-Jay a pay-slip and tell Mike we've got a new article to add to the Paragon Life section... Oh and how many times!? I'm out of coffee!!"

Jack slipped by Leannes's desk and placed the palm of his hand and a slip of paper infront of her.

With a self-satisfied smirk beneath his reflective neon blue Sun-Glasses he added, "Hey there beautiful."

Thirsty Like The Wolf
Fourth Wall Club Review
by Jack Jones

You've probably heard of the Fourth Wall Night Club if you're a 'somebody' in
Paragon City, but if you're like me and you've only just become familiar with
the name, let me tell you that the Fourth Wall in Blyde Square is the
hottest new club in town.

Originally set up by city hero Stratocaster, the club was given a luke-warm,
welcome from the Hero community, to which it was aimed. Since then the club
shut down and was bought by a Queen (the band) loving friendly Werewolf from
France.

Don't worry, his taste in music gets trendier and the cool, casual Parisian
feel of the club is a welcome altication from the usual blaring beats of
other clubs such as Hyperdrive and Pocket D.

It's definately a classy venue and as such you're going to need to look your
best -- without of course trying too hard -- as you may find yourself rubbing
shoulders with some of Paragons greatest heroes.

The Fourth Wall Night Club is Open every night.
Watch out for news of the next monthly Specials Night - 'Carnivale'.
You heard it here first people.

Jack Jones is Primarily a Freelance Writer but has recently joined our new
Paragon Life team. You'll be hearing more from Jack soon, and if you want
more detailed information on Fourth Wall mentioned in todays Paragon
Life, check our our website at... www.paragonurl.com/e3ic7

But a thing like LoRD is best left amongst a close group. Otherwise it will be utter chaos on the forum. And the LoRD:s aren't chaotic.

[/ QUOTE ]
Hatesman and XV can both be a little chaotic at times, I suspect.

[/ QUOTE ]
I tend to play Hatesman as if he's the Anti-Order, like Anti-Matter is to Matter. There has to be a little bit less than equal amount of Chaos to any order in the world, to give the order reason. Which is why he slapped an Usher when he entered the room. (That and the fact I'm probably sub-conciously taking it on The Usher of Pop Warbling Fame)

[ QUOTE ]
You won't be finding the likes of Romanov or Liz personally roaming around looking to fight a hero one on one unless something forces their hand and strips them of all their political tools, armies of minions, etc.

[/ QUOTE ]
But on the flip-side Hatesman relishes combat and is sort of like a moth to the flame in that respect. His crazy monster side will launch into it, and then when he gets his [censored] whupped, he goes on a downer from the crazy and runs away like a screaming scientist who's just had his hands amputated. - More on that later.

What I'm trying to say is that the LoRDs sort of embody every aspect of evil, which is excellent for sticking their tendrils into everything like some nightmarish deviant, and being backed up by interesting elements.

You've got a bit of Chaos, a bit of Organised Crime, Dark Stalkery, Brilliantly Mad Science, Vampires and Demons, Armies of Evil, Terroists AND Super-Powers - Note to all: Mustn't forget flaming eyes/super-speed/telepathy type Super-Powers - Very Important.

[ QUOTE ]
Well, I mean I will chat out of character with anyone we plan plots with, but we have nothing yet and remember, in-character wise, the LORDs don't even exist. *waves fingers in a mesmerizing spell*

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but I also agree with this, don't get too excited before it all begins.

"Harvest the weak like cattle for all I care, sait your blood-thirst. Drink deep in their misery." Hatesman now seemed to be getting intoxicated by the discussion. "Those who can't defend themselves will become our prey, while the cunning and strong should be left to flourish if they are able to do so. Thankful that their meaningless life was spared." He stopped.

"But I share XV's vision to demolish Paragon City and capture or destroy Statesman and the Freedom Phalanx too! All of the heroes, all of them from that place have to die painful deaths or live tortured and alone if they stand against us... all of them must suffer the consequences of their vigilance!"

ORACLE nodded in agreement. "He is correct. The considerable threat Paragon City poses to this Alliance cannot be ignored."

Hatesman sneered back at Romanov as he finished, and continued to slip further from sanity as the talking continued, now entering a slow and drunken world, intoxicated by the suppressor drugs, yet free and concious enough to speak his mind.

"Hah! Trust? At this table?" replied Hatesman with a twitch in his eye and a growl in his voice. "I gave up on trust the moment I saw the truth..."

"The truth that we don't need trust, in this world. We don't need order in this world. Rules, regulations, safety nets for the weak them all."

"No, we need nothing that Humanity has concocted to bring itself superficially closer to god."

"No... the dirty little secret, is that even if we can live forever and command the heavens we will never be gods ourselves. No, not in this lifetime! Even Zeus was a deluded wretch with visions of grandeur beyond his station."

"No. Not with these dirtied genetics can we become great. No. We can only hope to speed the process of evolution to its ultimate end, and we can only do this by ridding the world of the weak and their pens and self-inflicted cages that protect them from their fate..."

"You see I honestly don't care what your goals are. You'll be pleased to know that so long as it involves the purification of weakness that humanity so needs, I and my Terra Liberation Front will be there, waiting to cleanse and free the weak from their mortal bonds."

"That is why I am so quick to accept alliances but what could any of you be so desperate to achieve? I wonder?" he asked with a careless smirk about his distorted lips, belittling any answer that was to follow.

Thanks everyone.

Just to update you all, I've started the Recruitment process now, and have begun the first two short stories with CactusBrawler aka Battle Unit Omega and Efranof aka Underthrow (well, only just messaged Efranof so we'll see.)

I reckon this It'll take a little longer than usual, but it seems the logical way to do it for me and I figure at the end of it all we'll have a selection of individual short stories to document the founding of the Nomads per member.

Hatesman glanced over at ORACLE, instantly she knew what to do, raising her arm in the air it shimmered and her hand dissolved around a metal frame. Needles of all shapes and sizes appeared.

Turning to all the others with just a hint of malice and spite it seemed for a second as if she were to strike at them, but instead she moved over to her master and injected him in the neck.

Hatesman doubled over and punched at the table cloth, holding it tightly in his grip.

"You will pay for that wench..." he growled ferociously using a voice that audibly shook the room, from somewhere deep within his blackened soul. The Android took a step backwards. Not in fear, but out of calculated precaution.

Hatesman quivered and shook for a moment as he breathed heavily in severe pain. Closing his eyes he slumped forwards in his chair.

"This time is not for Self-Destruction." he began anew, still slumped in his chair.

"For now, my beast slumbers, but I can't sustain such clarity for long..." he raised his head again, with a wry smile on his lips. "I'm sorry for my oafishness... I felt it might serve a purpose to carve me a place of power, but I can see now with this opening statement from Borealis that these tactics aren't welcome among such refined patrons."

ORACLE rematerialised her hand again, covering the needles in what appeared to be flesh. "Due to his condition, the Chief Architect can delude himself to the nature of variables in his logic."

"I believe that condition to be amplified human nature ORACLE. As Borealis has laid down, we can all delude ourselves when we are built of flesh, blood and grandeur.

"I agree with the man, this isn't a debate of our alleigance. I think that is a neccessity, it always has been and forever shall be!" finding himself growing in ferocity once again, Hatesman briefly hushed himself for several seconds to temper his inner fury.

Quietly he began again, "If we're all going to kill each other in the end, then we ought to start now and be done with it..." he said, pulling out his side-arm and extending the trio of metallic prongs outwards. "...for if we intend to work together, we must do so to the end."

Beads of persperation formed on Oswalds brow as he gazed around the room. The weapon was a tempting offer to his demon, who was furiously chomping at the iron bars of its cell to pull the trigger at the nearest bystander. His grip began to quiver slightly as his Logic and his Instinct battled for supremecy.

"So...?"

The Nomads

Due to all the interest, The Nomads now have a Union Wiki page. Check it out, and stay tuned for the first character recruitment...
19. Tuesday the 15th... right making a mental note... someone remind me if I look like I'm forgetting again... Hard to tell I know. Cursed selective memory. >_>
20. Hatesman_EU

The Nomads

So can I assume everyone who's posted on this is willing to contribute characters? I'm not entirely sure about Steam_Powered, just passing through? Anthem32? You not too confused are you? I still think Anthem would be a great addition.

----------------------------------------

Well for everyone who's definately interested, I'm going to start recruiting... here's the setup:

Psyborg Zero is a hyper-advanced construct from the future, with a brain capable of Human Telepathy and seamless wireless interaction with any number of silicon based technology. He can manifest himself in Virtual Reality and the Human Psyche with ease, and is able to skim the Net and open minds in search of whatever he needs.

As a soldier from the future, Zero has seen all that Humanity has yet to endure. However his Memory of it has been forcefully repressed to prevent serious amounts of Temporal Contamination. He knows only what he needs to know, and what he knows now is that a group of sporadically placed Heroes, Vigilantes, Beasts, Machines, Angels and Demons become a group known in the future as "The Nomads".

Now Psyborg Zero, leader of the Nomads from the future, seeks to found this very group in the present, today in Paragon City. Ready for "The Coming Storm" and the many other hardships that Humanity has yet to endure on Earth and Among the Stars.

Psyborg will approach individual members and seek to recruit them, I'm hoping to do this in-game or on a forum post, individually for each member, documenting the process and keeping it somewhere safe.

So, could everyone please confirm which characters they want to be recruited to the Nomads, including any vital information;

- Who they are.
- Why they are good candidates for the Nomads
- Union Wiki links
- Notes on their appearance, powers
- How to contact them etc.

And I'll put a plan together to get this show on the Road, along with a Union Wiki entry.

P.S
If anyone else is interested in this group, feel free to comment at any time! The doors are still wide open!

"Late?! Who do you think you are?!"

An usher flew through the door at the end of the table, rolling into a limp heap on the carpet. Hatesman turned to the approaching security guards. "You want some too?!"

At his side a young woman in her mid-twenties placed a hand on the brutes shoulder, motioning his gaze to the conference members like an embarrassed mother. ORACLE -- Hatesmans companion droid -- appeared as a tall sleek woman, dressed in a little red dress which shimmered with an unnatural glow like her pale skin.

Turning on the spot, the heavy set Doctor flicked away her hand and marched towards the table.

"Sorry I'm late!" he said in a maliciously dark American accent, throwing his arms out theatrically. "The traffic was... horrific." he added much to his own delight.

Hatesman was wearing what seemed to be as casual clothing as he could get... dirty black boots, wrapped with heavy industrial chain, the metaphorical Chains of Oppression. A thick dusty brown trenchcoat, with the sleeves forcefully removed, hung over a green shirt and was emblazoned with an Anarchy Push-Pin on the left breast. His baggy desert camoflauged combat trousers were crossed by a holseter holding a strange looking gun without a barrel. It was a retractible lightning gun -- developed by the TLF -- capable of channeling the Hatesmans power into a deadly long range bolt of lightning.

As he made his way across the room, he knelt down and slapped the limp body of the usher across the face hard. The young man woke up coughing, rolled to his knees and limped away holding his gut and his face as Hatesman took his seat at the table.

ORACLE held a perfectly calculated flanking position to Hatesman at all times, managing to stay an exact distance and angle to Hatesmans shoulder all the while he moved. She was like a hovering dronefly, beautiful escort girl and emotionless bodyguard all rolled into one.

"Alicia Barzini, Alex Romanov, Countess Báthory Erzsébet, Lord Erebus, Lord Borealis. I am O.R.A.C.L.E, Online Response and Command Liason Entity of the TLF, and this is Hatesman, Chief Architect of the Terra Liberation Front movement."

"So you have your uses ORACLE?" Hatesman chimed in, scaldingly. "I hope you don't mind her Pistol, she insisted... and when a priceless Artificial Intelligence with multiple ways to maim, kill and murder, insists something... I go with it." he said uncompromisingly.

ORACLE's Thermoptic Camoflague flickered for a moment like a TV with bad reception, revealing her bleached white wiry mechanical innards beneath the near flawless holograpic illusion of skin and fabric.

Hatesman picked up a fork and dug into the nearest roast boar, before pouring himself a tall beer. If it was poisoned or not, Hatesman was willing to risk it to add to his mounting bravado.

((Sorry, the forum ate my post twice before this one.))

The Cell would ideally have been a living organism but I don't think there's a base texture like that?

Maybe the ship is a living organism trapped in the gravity field?

[/ QUOTE ]
That's funny you should bring that up. The ship was originally going to be made from Living Metal like Leviathans from Farscape. Which is the same thing my character Psyborg Zero is made from. It would give a good reason why the base grows with more Prestige too.

There's no reason not to make it a character of its own either.

The inspiration for the Space Ship came from the Fortress of Solitude mixed with the Space Station in Solaris (with George Clooney) which is in close orbit over a star. I was thinking more something along the lines of Venus so that it could be brought down to Earth in special one off events.

he is unable to truely fit in with the normal world, due to the fact he can quite basicly go anywhere, do anything, can't get hurt by bullets and such, only by light if he's in his full shadow form and not in humanish form.

I do infact like this idea of somewhere for those like him, and would allow him to be continued to be played as his shadow form, otherwise there was going to be a rather interesting twist to his story (im not going to spoil it) so he could come back one day.. enough said about that.

SO do you think he would fit the bill so to speak or not??

Yeah Sha'dower sounds like the perfect Nomad from that description.
