  1. A vote for Rad/Pain here, mines a tankmage.

    Perma WoP + Tough + Patron Shield

    He Buffs/Debuffs/Heals and deals decent damage (most attacks slotted with -res procs)

    It's not a matter of fear, I have several toons with no real heal. From my controllers at 50 my Ill/TA and Plant/Storm both can't heal. I built my Earth as thermal to be an AV killer which he does very well.

    Also IIRC the disruption aura will cause aggro to be drawn to you. Granted I believe this only affects pets as my only /Sonic toon is my Fire/Sonic corr, I yet to test this with pets.

    It actually synergies great

    Sonic Shields + Pet Resist Procs + Animated Stones high resistances

    I did something similar with my Earth/Thermal, I went with thermal over sonic for the heals. But sonic provides mez protection and more -res debuffs. Animated stones attacks all taunt which helps keep the attacks off of you.
  4. Brutes are insanely addictive, I've got 8 at 50 with no intentions of stopping. My new one is a Claw/Elec and having a SMASHtastic time.
  5. Hehehe I have two Ninjitsu stalkers at 50 and could not answer the question of if it breaks hide off hand. Then again most stalkers that have smoke bomb, don't normally open with it

    I have a Grav/Stone, synergy from the stacked stuns and kb/ku is nice. Some teams won't like kb, politely ask them to lrn2play.
  7. Indeed just you, but in a click power its effects will only be felt for its normal duration. Placed in Health the effects are perma.

    I personally don't find this IO very useful on MMs and advise you save it and place it in a Brute.
  8. I had a hard time getting into brutes at first as well, what did it for me was my Elec/WP. Leveled quickly and was a lot of fun, after that I've gotten 7 other brutes to 50.

    My List of Level 50 Brutes, all fully IO'd

    Elec/WP, SS/Fire, SS/WP, Dark/Fire, Dark/Stone, Stone/Energy (Softcapped to all but psi), EM/SR (Softcapped), Fire/Shield (Softcapped)

    I wont post builds since you mentioned you're adept with mids. But I only see one of my brutes on my list that you've tried. Any questions on the other builds I listed, feel free to ask.

    I have two level 50 Necro MMs, I personally cannot advise not putting any damage enhancements into Lich. While the lich isn't a high source of damage when compared to the knights. His damage should not be ignored, even more so when you don't have several powers that stack with his -tohit.

    As far as soul extraction goes, its mostly an IO mule.
  12. A lot of wasted slotting, not sure what you're doing with sets, you don't seem to have a goal in mind. Major thing that bothers me is your lich has zero damage enhancements. If you want a long list of my opinions on your build, let me know.

    This is my current build for my Necro/Thermal. Presence pool was added more for theme then real need.

  14. I started back in Oct 04' with a scrapper, moved onto blasters and then got stuck on controllers. I would say brutes and scrappers are great for learning the game.

    I personally do not find Khelds to be fun at all, I've tried so many times to get a kheld to 50. Granted I'm not degrading the ability of khelds, I've seen some awesome ones in my time here. IMO its an AT the Devs could have done so much more with and didn't.

    I've got a level 50 Necro/Traps its a great combo really.

    ShoeTattoo touched on the main synergies with this, but I have to disagree with his opinion on Seekers. The mag stun is low and cannot be relied upon fully, the debuff is still nice however. I have detonate but, only find myself using it on large teams. I've used it in the past to detonate my lich so I could use the extraction for an AV fight.

    I didn't bother with maneuvers and found with the lich slotted for -tohit I do alright. As far as AV fights go, make a mine field before the fight and lure them through.
  16. I have a level 50 Stone/Nrg Brute that I enjoy playing a lot. I run speed LGTFs and ITFs w/ no heavy problems. I was able to softcap everything but psi, the AoE stun is a godsend and I believe is what really keeps the toon alive. Nrg is great because of energy drain and conserve which makes running stone melee crazy smooth. I even tossed a +rech proc into fissure and tremor which helps energy drain recharge quickly.

    My current build has both fire shield and tough, he does great. Want to try something new really, I know how important a shield is for this combo since its mostly melee. Just dont know what to drop for a shield.

  21. I like the idea, need more details on rules though.

    Like how many times can a person be chosen? Is it one toon for cc/theme per account? Villains/Heroes, etc, etc.

    Judges from a wide group of people would be encouraged too, would like to help if my schedule allows. Would helping eliminate me from entering completely?

  22. I personally vote for TA as it synergies really well and is a lot of fun to play.

    But for the concept you want, I have to agree with Konshu. Rad would fit the theme so much better.

    Haven't touched my Fire/Rads build for well over a year. Redoing him for an SG all rad event and came up with this build. I had tough and fire shield in my original build, made him sturdy. But wondering how he'd do like this since i could stack stuns. Posting my new build, feel free to rip it a new one. I want it crisp by this weekend

    As a note I prefer superspeed as my travel power, open to changes, and I have a stealth proc in my sprint.

    Traps/Psi

    I made one for a few reasons.

    I don't have a Psi Blast toon at 50, I've got at least one of every other blast set at 50 though.

    I wanted a traps defender because I have both a traps corr and MM

    Because I aint seen that combo as I've run around on all my toons.

    I'm not worried about the damage being resisted endgame. I'll have fun being part of the minority and finally having all the blast sets at 50
