Traps/Psi
Blasters ruined my feeling for psi. Maybefor others as well lol

No reason why it wouldn't be good. You probably don't see it often because it's one of those combinations that's hard to explain thematically.

Why you don't see it:
Psi is a relatively low damage set that is highly resisted later in the game. It tends to be one of the lesser played sets.
Would it be good?
The answer is probably yes due to one power: Psionic Tornado. Mobs don't shoot at you when they're on their butts so you can fire this power off and have a nice amount of time to drop a trip mine.
I still believe that Ice is the best pairing (next to Fire for corrupters).

Well,so far i can see why some dont mess with Psi for a Defender,but,iv decided to go with Electrical Blasts with Traps.
So far its great.(for me atleast) im only lvl 12 right now,but,in teams,i end up being the tanker alot of the time.Drop Trops,Acid Mortar,Lightning Ball,then Short Ciruit.The biggest saving grace is the sheild generator,but spamming lightning ball and short circuit,i end up doing a decent amount of AoE damage in the group,which iv found surprising on a defender.
Im enjoying it throughly.
Elec isn't a bad pairing with Traps. The long activation in Short Circuit looks like a flash compared to the Traps powers
Going this route, if you take the Power epic pool then you can:
- Fire Seekers to take alpha
- Jump in and drop a Mortar (mortar takes aggro)
- Fire off Power Build Up
- Fire off PGT
- Fire off Short Circuit
Everything is now held or drained of endurance
- Fire off Ball Lightning
- Now drop the Trip Mine
At this point everything but Lts and bosses is dead. Lts and bosses are drained and heavily damaged.
The key to doing this is getting very high (e.g. capped) defense in the positional categories. If you're going to throw in Caltrops, it will help keeping sapped mobs from running (which they do as soon as they're sapped), but you need to make sure you:
a) Max out its slow
b) Don't drop it before PGT

I made one for a few reasons.
I don't have a Psi Blast toon at 50, I've got at least one of every other blast set at 50 though.
I wanted a traps defender because I have both a traps corr and MM
Because I aint seen that combo as I've run around on all my toons.
I'm not worried about the damage being resisted endgame. I'll have fun being part of the minority and finally having all the blast sets at 50
I made a traps/psi. She is level 26. Her name is Martian Machine. Since she is a martian, she is green and has mind blasts, of course. The traps are just some of the lesser martian tech she brought with her. Good times.

Iv noted no one iv seen jumping around the game have done this combo,or atleast i havnt seen it.Iv read up on the Defenders unique Psi Blasts set,and noted that it might be a good one to add to this primary.
The fact that you can chnage the color of this set is a plus,but not the base by any means for it. :P
Anyone have any ideas as to why this wouldnt be a good set?or as to why i have yet to see it?
