1. In short terms, any items coming out of the markets (except for storage only purposes) can only be stored in the ‘traded’ repositories. Thus restricting their future trading potential (as yet undefined).

I don’t honestly expect an abundance of love for this suggestion by market haters and flippers but with all the great implementations from the devs over the last couple of years the markets are one thing that they consider either ‘not broke’ or ‘beyond repair’. If it’s the latter (and I’m not convinced it is) then this suggestion might, in it’s own complicated way, attempt to offer a solution.

THE END - Remind me not to post again, that was too painful.
2. Well maybe the result will go something along these lines:-

Items placed onto the markets from any of the ‘dropped’ repositories will be identified with some sort of ‘marker’ (or different graphic) and may be traded in the same way we do today.
Items placed onto the markets from any of the ‘traded’ repositories will be marked differently from the rest and may only be traded within a predetermined set of rules.

TBC - *cries*
3. Now – every time you’re fighting a bad guy and you send him/her/it to the hospital/jail/morgue any ‘drops’ you get will be deposited in one of the 3 new ‘Dropped’ repositories, the characteristics of these new storages is that only dropped items can be placed in them. (hold that thought).

On the other hand there are 3 similar repositories to hold ‘second hand’ enhancements/salvage/recipes. Players can place items here from ‘the markets’, personal trades, base storage, vaults, respecs etc.

‘But what will this achieve?’ I hear you cry…..

TBC - this multiple posting is getting on my "£$%^$£ now.
4. The solution

Restrict the re-selling of items on the markets. Having a ‘cap’ per type of item or something else isn’t something I’ve devised yet (mere detail, at this point in time).

In order to identify an item as being ‘re-sold’ as opposed to just ‘sold’ is the detail I think I can help with. Give all toons the following new capabilities:-

Rename the current salvage type ‘Invention’ to ‘Dropped Invention Salvage’ (a crud name I know – but again ‘detail’ – focus please!)
Create a new salvage type ‘Traded Invention Salvage’
Do something similar with both Enhancements and Recipes.

Meaning that your ‘storable’ items can, in general terms, be stored in 6 places rather than the current 3.

TBC - in next post.
5. Far from being yet another dig at the devs for ‘broken’ implementation of ‘new’ content, I’d like to offer them another option for fixing something that gets ‘right up my nose’.

FLIPPERS!

Unlike the swimmer’s aid these people who claim to be ‘playing the market’ are doing nothing of the sort. They are playing the rest of us. – my opinion.

Now without going down the path of a morality debate on the pros and cons of capitalism, which tbh, I’m tempted by, I figure I’ll get to the point – make my ill thought out suggestion and leave you in peace.

TBC -in next post - can't figure out these new forums yet.

7. In short, I like it. But therein lies my only current complaint. You have to be short!

I want to post a new suggestion on the appropriate board. Explaining it's overview and details isn't re-writing the complete works of Shakespeare but is along the lines of a dozen or so sentences, seems this many words (whatever that is set to) is more detail that the mods/admins want us to be reading.

My suggestion will, for now, have to go unread. Because succinct I’m not.
8. Not for a moment do I think we’ll get them (maybe in GR – but I doubt it) but I was thinking today that it would make a lot of people re-think their toons if we had more pool powersets, so with this in mind I thought of the following, any sensible ideas out there to broaden the game?

‘The Debuff Set’

Level 6 – Chuff – You let one go and you think you might get away without anyone knowing it was you, a far travelling power that renders a single target’s defences to be lowered for a while, with a disgusted look, they ask their neighbour, “Was that you?!”

Level 6 – Guff – This one catches you as much by surprise as it will your enemies, it’s likely that you tried too hard on a previous attack however for a brief time all enemies within ‘earshot’ can’t suppress a little childish giggle thus affecting the accuracy of their attacks.

Level 14 – Trump – A deliberate weapon of the highly trained farter. You’ve mastered the diet of the pulses, beer, sprouts and peanuts which you‘re able to unleash in a cone ‘behind’ you. Enemies recover and regenerate at a slightly reduced level, some are even rendered helpless while they vomit up breakfast.

Level 20 – Fermented – Only the true connoisseur of stink can perfect their farts away from combat, mix them and arm their self for the fight with ‘bottled death’. This Targeted AoE attack will literally permeate the clothes of the enemy and cause your other attacks to do more damage.

more stupid people to complain about and ignore.

[/ QUOTE ]
That's the bit I'm not going to like.

I've managed to never ignore any poster on the EU boards. I do this on the basis that even if someone posts 200 posts of pure +1/ibtl/derailing drivel their 201st post may be truly insightful and worthwhile...

...and if it's drivel I can skip/skim it pretty quickly.

But I guess I'll have to start ignoring posters in the US if the sheer quantity of rubbish is to be handled.

Not trying to say that the US board population has a higher proportion of idiots, I'd guess that the proportion is probably the same on both boards. But keeping visible and skimming/skipping 20% of idiot posts from maybe a hundred active posters is a lot easier than doing the same for 20% of maybe a thousand active posters.

Which reminds me: the US also seems to have a lot of posters who insist on quoting entire posts just to put +1/this/signed or even adding nothing. Why? Skipping past 2 or 3 screens of quote to have no intelligent comment or additional info bugs the heck out of me...

well I was thinking of taking fissure, seismic smash and earth's embrace and slotting 3 heals in it simply because I don't like rock armours look. I'm now working on a revised build, but slightly off topic...what in your opinion are the most damaging controller builds other than fire/kin?

[/ QUOTE ]

Fire/Kin (damage-wise) is head and shoulders above the rest of the field.

If it's purely 'damage' that you're after the next best primary is probably earth. Secondary is more 'open', it depends on your playstyle, but if we are solely talking about damage I'd guess that Storm (spit) is ,numbers-wise, the best. You must bare in mind though that being a team toon earth/storm, while good 'on paper', doesn't necessarily mean best. e.g. earth's animations can cause some team members graphics issues which also goes for storm along with it's KB.

Personally I'm a huge fan of /rad - there's very little it can't do, blossoms early and ease of it's debuffs make it so very versatile.

At the end of the day the damage output and overall usefulness of your toon depends on who else you have in the team, impossible to gauge that if you’re pugging it.

[ QUOTE ]
Its based on what the OP was asking for TBH. I'd personally take lingering radiation and I use smoke to help soloing (cheap stealth power with the +stealth in CJ). And with four slots I get a 5% recharge bonus. As I'm an altaholic I seldom will be able to afford the really nice recharge bonuses on the good sets so I make them up from weaker sets.

[/ QUOTE ]

So how do you qualify the flashfire slotting? It does hardly any damage and if you want to immob. bad guys I'm pretty sure you'll want to use cages. I'm not saying you have it right or wrong, builds are often down to your own playstyle, but you do seem to have picked the damage sets for powers that would greatly benefit from more 'native' slotting.

I had smoke instead of SS on the build I posted above and in the first 2000 hours of playing the toon I hardly used it, which was a shame, because I liked the theory of it.

As far as general bonus slotting goes I tried to achieve the following goals;

Get AM and hasten perma (and thus in turn getting maximum +rech on flashfire)
Get as much +recov and end - with choking cloud and hot feet always up I needed it.
Don't 'ever' miss, a personal preference esp. on a trolley. +Acc FTW

Why did you have to put "because I have been playing for 42 months" in bold? There's nothing funny about it.

This is the reason as to why I left UV. It's MOSTLY full of idiots.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's fitting that the original holder of your account is G-A-Y, and one of the most fun people I've played with. I laughed at your claim because to have your 42 month vet badges doesn't mean that you have the experience when you bought that account about 6 months ago.

I don't know the exact reason why you were kicked from UV (as it was a co-leader who did it) but a begging tell from you every couple of weeks for 2 or 3 months asking to come back makes me suspicious that you didn't leave. Idiots we maybe, whatever you label us as we are happy this way.

Back OT though, I do suspect that being a US 'controlled' game doesn't lend itself too much to a slightly more liberal European philosophy (of course I'm generalising here). There are many things EU players feel are unjust and rightly they voice their opinions, but alas, unless the forum multitudes in US start screaming about stuffs - very little changes.

fire/rad help

My build was an example of a toon that was pretty good at most things (sometimes even pvp). I'm not sure I get the wisdom of taking smoke (and slotting it so heavy) over the great team power of Lingering Radiation.

I took SJ for the primary travel power and SS because I like to be able to go invis and be fast and also because I already have hasten.

All that said fire/rad is prolley one of the best 'all-rounder' combinations and you can make it fit into your style of play quite easily (unless you like the passive life that is). The biggest problem is that fire/rads have so many powers to shoe-horn in and so few slots. Which for me made it all the more interesting to plan and play.
14. I think the OP don't like not earning xp.
15. Hope this points you in the general direction (sorry I can't do cheap builds), it should be good for most team settings (basically anything bar solo). I've stacked it full of +rech in an attempt to get perma AB. Hasten is 10 seconds off perma so AB might just make it at 3.5 under perma.

Most ppl prefer power mastery epic set for power build up. Horses for courses imo, me - I like the option of helping out trolleys hold bosses ect. By the time you get into your 40s uber heals are largely redundent as you become more a buff-bot, if you wanted to put Absorb pain in earlier it might be a good idea but some don't like it for the danger to the user.

What's the point of being able to pick and choose all of Coin's powers, making them all fit with a costume only to have it spoilt by the yellow glow of super speed and hasten? And the same applies for other pools as well.

Makes no sense to me.

[/ QUOTE ]

Unless the devs have taken into account the huge amount of work it's taken so far to get PC for our primary and secondary pools, and are aiming to launch GR before the holidays, so they don't have the rest of the year to work on converting all the other pools for PC, and have decided that the other pools will be added to PC later, as the primary and secondary ones are the main ones people use.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah everyone has to have a primary and secondary power set. you don't have to take power pools (arguable how much fun you'll have if you don't delve at least a little, of course) so i'm ok with them focussing on primaries and secondaries first.

fire/rad help

Without going into too much detail the main points for me are as follows;

6 slot AM
Rad infection takes Enzyme HOs so only needs 3 slots
You could get KB protection with acrobatics so you can save on all those slots currently used for blessing of the Zephyr
While I'm on that note - as a fire rad it's my experience that although you can get some fair numbers for +def and +res but you'll never be a scrapper so don't even bother trying - instead enjoy the control and have Flashfire recharge as much as possible.
6 slot AM
Fallout and EM Pulse are good powers but I couldn't justify them in this build - doubt you'll ever want to use them baring extreme circumstances.
Lingering Radiation is your AV debuff killer (along with the other two toggles) also it's slow effects will help with your hot feet. Btw make sure you use cages a lot esp. when hot feet is running as it will scatter bad guys like a nova.
6 slot AM (have I said that before? End mod sets are best - it's possible to get it perma which will help with the end issues you will encounter if you ever want to run solo)
Swap fire shield for tactics, that's more opinion than anything - personally my best form of defence is a mezzing attack.
Miracle and Numina procs in health will help a lot too.
A stealth proc in SS will be usful should you ever need to ghost a mission.

I’ve got an old fire/rad build with fire mastery epic however it cost a lot (although worked really well) – I’ve respecced from fire mastery now though but couldn’t tell you if the new build is any better as I’ve not really put it to a proper test. Shout if you want me to post it.

EDIT: And what's with all this talk of "insolent" players? That's kind of an old fashioned attitude - there aren't any social classes in MMOs

[/ QUOTE ]

I wasn't stating this from my personal point of view. I've just heard this frequently from many players (which are mostly idiots).

EDIT: What's your personal definition of "social classes" when it comes to MMO's?

[/ QUOTE ]

In GGs case there's the upper class i.e. Heroes
Then there's the under class Villains

[/ QUOTE ]

No, I mean using a term like "insolent" kinda implies that the person being "insolent" is inferior in some way, like a servant being insolent to their master - it's a very snobby word.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thought insolent was when you fell off the isle of wight ferry? Budum tish - thank-you, I'll be here all week.
21. I know I say it a lot but if you were all fire/rad trolleys (with maneuvers) you'd be able to do what you're after.

With the added bonus of 'easy' buffing (AM) and 3 lots of an auto-hit heal you'd be able to tp into bad dudes no worries. Of course you'll have to wait till you're 32 to get the pets but that could leave you a few levels practising with choking cloud and team tp and the optimum time to fire off your heals Although if you can be bothered a well timed cinders or flashfire would help. And if it's looking like a really tough fight slap on the debuffs.

<Edit> oops, forgot to mention, TPing in missions is a little hit and miss, with practice you can get better at it but with multiple AMs (and the +spd they give) I used to find running in and trying to both mez and debuff the bad guys was some of the most fun I've had so far in this game. With luck one of my fire/rad team-mates would either A)Recognise this tank-like behaviour and join me to mez/debuff/heal or B) Would have been so team focused as to have picked mutation.
22. [ QUOTE ]
well I was thinking of taking fissure, seismic smash and earth's embrace and slotting 3 heals in it simply because I don't like rock armours look. I'm now working on a revised build, but slightly off topic...what in your opinion are the most damaging controller builds other than fire/kin?

[/ QUOTE ]

What kind of damage are you after? Solo or team?
23. [ QUOTE ]
Face it, this game is for US, we just bring in some pocket money

Plus I suspect there's not much stopping anyone world-wide from going to the con. Bar the whole 'shedloads' of cash for travel.

Presence

Not really a discussion on its merits just more of a straw poll on its usage.

What percentage of your toons has at least one used* power from the presence pool set?

I’ll start the ball rolling and without the need to go and look can hereby announce I have 0% of my toons with this powerset.

*by used I mean as in not just having the power for slotting with set bonuses. Although tbh you'd have to be pretty desperate for that

Purple IOs

Any Plant/NRG Domi (no need for boxing this time ) - that's 2 hits from 2 attempts, think it's widley possible with some extremely borked builds.
