I think alot of you guys are truely missing the point of a good taunter, and the true effects it has on a team. A good taunter, can easily disrupt damage spikes if played correctly.

Even in I12 PvP my MA/SR/WPN Scrapper tore Electric Armor Brutes up. Caltrops shut their Aid Self down and then it was just a matter of working the Smash damage through the weak SL Resist (Statesman help them if Buildup+Eagle's Claw critted) to get the win. It was pretty sad. Of all Brutes I feared ElA the least (well OK, second-least to DA Brutes). ElA was junk then, it's even more junk now.

I start to forget issues and nerfs. But I was fine even in organized test server arena matches on my electric armor brute. Not talkin 1v1s, more like 2v2 to 5v5 type matches. Real good unsupressed movement, solid resists to the stuff I found in PvP (never took aid self lol). I was a real annoyance (taunt and webnade, and with reds and KoBlow I got a few kills here and there). Now I cant stay alive long enough to annoy. People focus on me and take me down fast. Couldnt do that before. I could hang with broadsword scrappers long enough to do my job.

Its not the leveling, its all the other crap. Gotta respec my elec to get all the IOs out (multiple respecs). Gotta get all the accolades. Gotta fine tune a build. And level up to 50. Just a real pain in the censored. Cause none of that stuff is fun to me anymore (alot of it never really was). I just wanna play.

LoL wasnt tryin to stir anything up with the good people of PvP forums (was teasing about the reportin man). Just expressing my opinions on the Devs messing never ever fixing brutes for PvP. Basically leaving them to rot. Then taking the one build and set Id managed to make work and F it up. Leaving me the option of grinding another toon just in time for them to "fix" things again.

Its all part of the same picture in my opinion. If everyone was saying how great ela was in PvE id be shuttin my mouth about pvp. But since there are very few touting how string ela is versus other sets in both PvP and PvE... You seem to be a lone voice of dissention, with a tight build and have lots of money invested in IOs. Kudos. But even that wont help in PvP. And many cant get there in PvE.

Ive logged more time on my ss/elec than any other toon in over 4 years. Second would be my elec/elec... I dunno why peeps are worried about overshooting balance on elec right now. It needs some serious work imo. Its very weak. Makes me sad to play it, especially in PvP. First time in ages Ive thought about leavin the game.

I dont think end drain is the solution, it needs a heal, plus HPs, regen or a combination of all three. Conserve Power/Grounded and LR are all great ways to add it. Anything would help right now.

I will say though that I use a PvP build that counts on Conserve Power atm (no sink). It works nicely for what I need, but Id much rather have hps, regen and healin : )

Its not the leveling its the IOs, slotting, build, learning to play and all the accolades. I just dont have the time anymore or the infamy to fund another toon. Id have to spend all my time respecing and taking IOs outta this toon, sellin em, so I could make inf to buy for a different toon. I could play maybe 5-10 hours a month, and rarely will hit that. So basically its probably this or nothing. Cause grinding out another 50.... I dunno....

yeah saw that thread and the Ela stuff after starting this. Thinkin now that Ela could use a stickied thread about fixin.

Two biggest holes in the resistances are negative energy and toxic. Negative energy on my IOd brute in a PvP zone is about 38% toxic 27... I really like the conserve power idea alot ( I use that instead of power sink in my PvP build). Or adding plus regen and hps to grounded. Could do something like that to lightnin reflexes as well (regen seems to fit it theme wise).

Im seeing people are starting to get electric armour is messed up right now. Im more into PvP with mine and the problems are glaring in zones. I noticed a few posts in the fix EA thread about elec, thought I might get the ball rolling. What are the problems? and how do we fix them? (alternatively Who is your daddy? And what does he do?)

Ummm didnt you read. Twixt got PAID to do this, and its part of his college experience... So clearly if twixt has taught us anything, and he hasnt, its that playing games makes us mad money and smrt!

This was my main back in the day. Came back and called in alot of favors to buddies (id stripped all my IOs and hamis gave em away when I "left" never cancelled sub just stopped playin). He is not purpled out, but as good as he can be till then (crushin imps, procs, zingers, obliteration, mir, numina, regen tissue, pounding slugs, plus a few hamis like in rage).

He gets his kicked around alot. The biggest problem is versus negative energy (like 39%resists lol). I was thinkin frostworks is just what this toon needs in a 2v2 match to toughen him up.

I kept waitin for devs to fix brutes and taunt in PvP. They fixed taunt, and left brutes alone. Global changes are killin my elec.

So havent pvpd organized like in a long time. Since back when DR stood for Dark Revolution. Not some BS about returns.

Used a taunt bot ss/elec brute back then. I was tough but damage output seemed low. Now it seems reverse, Im squishy as hell and damage is better but not enough to overcome alot of heroes Im seeing.

What should I be lookin for resistance wise, HP wise. Whats my role? Is electric armor a bad way to go in PVP these days? Fury still seems borked...

Just lookin for more input.

Twixt's play though by the letter of the in game rules was not without fault. Having made several statements that he 'just played' is not correct. Those that came to revile Twixt did so because he goaded them. Posting his defeat logs. Spamming insults in broadcast. and more. I believe his study lacks the empirical merit and proper controls required to form the conclusive pothesis "If you don't play by the unwritten rules you become an outcast".

As many know performing a function to the letter of a specified parameter is not necessarily noteworthy. What was noteworthy about Twixt, and how the good professor portrayed him as a manic martyr, was he made no effort to justify his actions for the betterment of the community. The study is just a reinforcement of what has been long known to those with a shred of common sense....people, real or virtual, do not like what they do not understand.

LoL he took a sabattical and a stipend to play CoH to figure out what my big brother tought me at 6 years old. Hopefully on his next paper he can find a conclusive reason why developers wont return pvp back to the way it was. It can be titled, 'Biting the hand that feeds you'

Which is why I never read the garbage he published but learned about it awhile ago. I really think he used the paper/prof angle later in the game, not a planned out thing. The improvements to badge tracking on our toons is great. But it doesnt resolve the big issue imo. That is I still dont know what badges I have or need for an accolade. Id like better accolade progress tracking. Like what badges I have, and which I need. That way when I log in for my few sessions a month I dont have to spend half my time getting organized. Something like this would be a huge improvement for this casual player.

Lol, I only quit once, silly. But it is humorous nonetheless. And I think maybe you guys are putting DR in the same boat as the coalition itself. And you should know Void, that the actual DR guys never had a beef with VORI, hell we had practice with you guys. It was mostly the coalition groups (the PVE-oriented and RV farming) that had vocal problems with VORI.

Maybe I missed something while I was away from the game those two months, but that's what I remember from when I was there.

Gotta back Neo on this one m3z. The DR guys that PvP'd and that were only in DR (not coalition) for the most part liked all you guys. Sure there was some friendly rivalry, but i think they respected you guys more when they tried out test, and found out that it isn't easy. I've been so afk in this game, but i've hung out with you guys in lulz vori chat, and on the DR vent, and there really wasn't any hate. I know I am really really late to this one, but also wanted to back Neo on this. Most of the DR guys didnt have any problems with you. Neo, Myself and Sin are three that actively played or chatted with ya. Also backed ya on vent when someone from Coalition was bitchin.

Cant believe that fury isnt higher on this list. 2 years and brutes are barely an option in PvP. Thats in my top 3 for sure. So is cross server PvP and hero/villain balance (honestly though I think things like villain perception, brute fury, placate all go towards hero villain balance).
