  1. That is really odd, then. As I said in the OP, dropping those two slots of Triage from Integration only drops Integration's Regen by about 1%. Triage itself at two slots buffs your regen by 4%. But dropping those slots lowers this Scrapper's overall regen by about 40%... which seems 36% too high, given the above numbers.

Is there some other calculation I am not understanding? Is that bonus from Triage translated differently to your global Regen (or Integration's?)?
  2. Post from Castle, removing this change (though he might test it at some point in the future). Though it sounds like people were able to complete it without holding the green mitos anyway, just an fyi.

Totally. And nerf the word "the!" it is far too rude and powerful!

Most Amazing, look a page or so back, we discussed Shields with just SOs. You can get your defenses plenty high with SOs and good power picks. You won't be able to solo at +4/8, but not everyone can (or wants) to do that using IOs, either.
  4. Patience... not noted in gamers on a game forum. But wise advice, all the same.
  5. I didn't write it, but you could send me some money... I've seen that stash you have in your villainside base! Crikey!
  6. Anyone know? At all? I want to get my build for this guy squared away, and want to know what's what so I get him set up right.

    Woot! 5K Posts!

It does... which helps. Otherwise I'd take my "I dislike grading this much" angst out on my students, which they wouldn't like. They already think I'm a tough grader, but at least I am a fair grader. Heh.
  8. Personally, I don't quite see why the change was needed. The encounter was tricky enough (not THAT tricky, but you couldn't sleepwalk through it, like some other TFs). It's also a unique encounter you don't get in any other TF... making the encounter more of a pain in the rear is not a good idea.

He also backpedaled from changes to Clear Mind when people pointed out how ridiculous that was going to make Ghost Widow in the STF. I think he sometimes gets challenges in his head that sound good (and kind of are, from the right perspective), but really aren't when you look at the game and players as a whole.

Thankfully, he doesn't do that often. At least he's willing to think in different ways and take player's thoughts into account.
  9. For non-softcap builds, you can check the builds in my Guide (found in my link). I would say that's the way to go (do note that those are fairly affordable builds in there, too... you could probably tweak them further if you wanted).

The reason that it's the way to go is that you really don't need to get to the softcap. More recharge and health really does help a lot (faster attacks, faster Healing Flames, and more HPs to lose), and I have heard good arguments for getting +regen, too. You don't want to focus so much on getting defense that you ignore other benefits to your build. The builds in my sig all are in the low 20s for defense, and it really is noticeable (I used to have an alt build without defense, and I really noticed how much more he would get hit). You can probably get in to the 30s for defense to the three positions or Smash/Lethal without too much sacrifice and for an even bigger difference, too.

So I would balance it out. Yes, softcap is nice, but not at the expense of other parts of your build (which might help out as much or more, or be more fun).

Yeah, I really have to agree after seeing how out of whack those numbers are.
  11. That's why I'm asking. I thought it was fixed in game not to work anymore (and I thought Mid's as well), but I wanted to check, as the regen numbers affecting the power are not translating to the character's overall regen correctly. At least as far as I can tell.

    Can't beat Ajax

Weird. Worked fine for me when I did it a few days ago. Was this before or after today's patch? The aforementioned Reicshman bug was fixed in today's patch (but like I said, I completed it just fine a few days ago).

    *added*

Okay, then I hope the new patch didn't cause this.
  14. Anyone know if Mid's is calculating the Numina's Unique incorrectly (where it gets buffed by other heal powers in the set)? I was playing with a build that needs tweaking (it should have too much heal in Integration right now), but taking out a two enhancements drops drops out about 40% of my regeneration, even though Integration was over-slotted for heal and the power itself only drops about 1% of its regeneration, and the bonuses being lost are only 4% regen from two pieces of the Triage set. I do have a Numina Unique slotted in the power, so I wondered if this is what is affecting things. Or... if it's something else. I'll post the build so people can see what I mean.

    Woot! 5K Posts!

Celebrate! I've been on the forums far too much and have five thousand posts! Just think of all those hours I've wasted! Wait...

Yes, it's a game forum, and there are more important things in life, but I wouldn't post so much if you weren't all so fun. Thanks for being a great, grumpy Victory community. I post all over, of course, but Victory is where the fun is at. See you in game, everyone.
  18. *shrugs*

Doing well is a matter of priorities. I COULD take CAK over Eagle's Claw, but I hate CAK's animation and I like being able to stun annoying bosses (which has come in useful more than once). I also have heard the numbers about Thunder Kick and how dropping it to fit in CAK or something else is more useful, but again... I like Thunder Kick over CAK, any day. I don't really care for all the toggles from Leadership, either. This guy dodges a fair amount of damage and doesn't have any accuracy issues, so I haven't found myself wanting a boost in performance I haven't seen as needed.

Nor do I really need to solo AVs. I know some people enjoy it, but I really don't like long solo fights like that. EBs are enough for me. The guy does great solo with fairly high difficulty settings, and he is actually able to take the alpha for teams. Dull Pain has always been up when I need it... as with Clawsandeffect, I rarely have to heal except when facing really hard targets.

Basically, I find him fun, and that should be the end goal for everyone. I'm glad you found your point of "fun" as well, Umbral. I do know that I could squeeze more out of my build, but it wouldn't be as fun for me. That's kind of the great thing about Scrappers, they have even more room for variety in their builds because they're so solid.

The build certainly does need some work, though. I have Integration over-slotted and would get more regen by putting another slot in Health or Fast Healing. Or I could fit in another LOTG +recharge when I can afford one. Or... so many things. Heh.

    *added*

Weird. Anyone know if Mid's is still buffing the Numina unique's +regen for all the heal you have in a power? Because pulling the Triage's from Integration in my build should not be affecting my overall regen that much. If I pull those and put extra slots in Fast Healing and Health, my regen should be higher than it was the other way around... or am I looking at the numbers wrong?

Gah, this is what I get for forum browsing when I should be grading.
  19. Ummmm, what? What was rude about this?

So level up a Shield character whenever you want. It's a fun set and works well all the way around.

I know you're bringing up Oil Slick just because, but it doesn't apply. There are many things Castle is doing, and he does have to prioritize. Hopefully Fiery Aura and Oil Slick are up there on his list, at least.
Were you just joking about needing run with a Shields character before the "nerf?" Sorry if you were, but many people have said the same thing in this thread and I've always tried to counter that thinking.

And I'd like TA to get a look at as well (I noted that in the quote). I merely said that just because one thing is getting a look doesn't mean something else like Oil Slick should or will. Castle can only do so much.

None of that is rude, just discussing what you said. So, clarify? Please?

No, I don't think so... doom is just too cute and cuddly. Either that, or maybe people on our server enjoy doom too much. Probably the latter.

And meh to the rest. The whole point was to laugh at how silly rep comments get. If anything else, the feelings revealed in a joking thread show how "srsbzns" everyone can be with this stuff. Get some perspective, people!
  23. Hmmmm, interesting. I'll post up my build, though I know it's not min/maxxed much, and I still need to drop Crippling Axe Kick (which I grabbed at 49 to see if I liked it a long time ago, and haven't had the gumption to respec into something else since). Still, it works pretty well for my guy... he's soloed through all the EBs in the game (never had the desire to solo AVs, either) and is quite survivable at 50 and exemped down. I have fun with him, anyway.

Basically, I guess I'm saying perma-DP isn't needed to do well. So a little variety to the mix. Feel free to critique or discuss if you want, too.

Anyone, it's a fun discussion. Whenever I have heard the term Tankmage tossed about, it was for something that was completely unbalanced and in the terms I mentioned above. It seems more useful in that sense, really, as being able to have some defense and offense but still be balanced isn't really a bad thing. Tankmage usually has a negative connotation. Ah well, you learn something all the time!
