I will keep this short and to the point... I love City of Heroes. It has been in my life for such a long time. I honestly believe we have a change of saving it, too. Please, help us save our world. We are a strong community, and are not just accepting the closure of the most prestigious superhero MMO out there. There is a sense of camaraderie in this game unheard of in the normal MMO community. In fact, I know people who have met in-game... and got married! This game is amazing, and was still being worked on by a team of incredible devs. (For those code monkies out there, their newest project was integrating LUA into the openGL. That's right. A MMO made in openGL.) The SaveCoH campaign has been featured in a huge amount of gaming news sites, even Kotaku and Massively. You guys don't have to sign the petition, to be honest, but any help you can give us would be so amazing. I just want as many people as possible to know what is happening.
For the next hour or so, I can answer questions. I am sorry if this turns into an AMA, I just want people to know everything I can tell them. I will cover the most common questions in this post.
Question: If it's such a good game, why is it being shut down? Answer: Well, it's because of money. Not because it was unprofitable, but because the profit (yes, it was in the black) wasn't enough for NCsoft. We don't really have a concrete answer, though.
Question: How long do you guys have? Answer: The servers are being shut off on Nov. 30th, over two months from now. We have until then to get NCsoft to reverse the decision.
Question: This is an old game. Everything dies eventually. Answer: That was not a question. Also, fun fact: CoH came before WoW. Are you suggesting we shut down WoW? Because, technically, they're younger than us. Also, even more fun fact: City of Heroes has lived so long with 0 ads. 0. WoW had Chuck Norris, and we still survived. We got our community through the love of the genre and the game, not because of gimmicky commercials or repetitive ads.
Question: Is there any sort of super inspiring video I could watch to fill my heart with love for CoH? Answer: There are two I would recommend. Well, turns out the 3D printer I had was taken by its owner to a different state.
Long shot: Would anyone be willing to print Omi? I have an .obj of him ready to go... I'd pay for the materials, plus some extra, and you would put it in a box and mail it to me.

Secondly, no. Those images in the background, excluding the first one, make no sense. The villain phrase, by the way, is "We are villains. What's ours is ours."

I was more impressed with the first link, but I admit the Mot translator is kind of hilarious. Seeing Mot saying "I like fluffy kittens." after doing all of the DA arcs is kind of awesome.

When I told my boyfriend, Gamer-Z, about the closure of City of Heroes, he decided to help me in one of the few ways he knows how.
He coded up a couple of very awesome, very interesting things.
Firstly, let me say this. The URL might look misleading, but it is the appspot domain he uses. I know, I know, trollwheel isn't the most trustworthy domain... Just trust me on this, please.

This delightful and very sentimental page displays the recent tweets and G+ posts with the hashtags #CoH, #CityOfHeroes, and #SaveCoH. I found it simple and amazing. I highly recommend you all take a look. When I first saw what he had made us, it brought actual tears to my eyes.
Secondly, and more awesomely, is something I've wanted for a while.
It's a Mot <--> English translator. It even adds the bright red coloring to the text.

Although he was red, his alignment was torn.
He wanted to be blue, but hated the peace,
So he waited for Issue 18 to release.
Omi destroyed all his foes with style,
(But he can't roll a rare in a stupid iTrial.)
Still he waits hopefully for a trial he'll run,
When credit is given to the Nova/Dwarf sun.
He had so much influence, but nowhere to spend,
So he gave it to heroes to start a new trend.
Looking stunning in purple, including his build,
His fluffies would fight even if he was killed.
A Warshade in PvP? Now, that can't be right,
But Omi was learning to join in the fight.
Sniping in Nova then jumping away,
He learned to form juggle and lead people astray.
